Name of Island: Floating Cloud Kingdom
Size of Island: The bottom half of the island is about the size of Skypia and the upper half is about the size of Lougetown. The lower half is just like any island, however the upper half is a sky island and is suspended above the island 100 yards. They are connected by a large bridge of cloud. They are not part of the World Government at this time.
Log Pose time: Takes two weeks to set to the next island.
Location: Reflection Route, Grand Line
Flora and Fauna: Floating Cloud Kingdom has very strong wind currents in the Upper Island capable of lifting full grown men. However due to most of the residents of the Royal city wearing armor or remaining indoors, such as the castle, this is not much of a problem. Floating Cloud Kingdom is a very luscious and inhabited island. The upper half of the island is a vast array of a multitude of colors that come from the many colorful tree’s, plants, and flowers that liter the mountains of the upper island. There are peach, orange, apple, banana, coconut trees around the island.
Much of the lower half of the island has been cultivated and are now large, rolling fields for farmers. The vegetables grown are corn, tomatoes, potatoes, and carrots.
The people that live on the lower half of the island tend to be farmers. In this respect there are many different types of farm animals. These include sheep, pigs, cows, horses, rabbits. The animals are here are all very tame and provide for most of food for the people on the whole island.
One of the wild animals left are the large mountain lions. The mountain lions that live here nest in the upper part of the island in large mountains there. They are quite large; nearly 7-9 feet long and easily 5 feet tall. They are dangerously strong and quick. They live in packs and feed off the mountain goats that live high in the mountains and every now and then, domestic farm animals.
However the most dangerous animal is a variation of the Komodo Dragon. These massive lizards leave a wake of destruction in their path. Although they are solitary creatures and rarely come out of the forest, the fact remains that the are deadly. They are strong and nearlt 11 feet in length. However, what makes these creatures so deadly is their poisonous saliva. The multitude of bacteria that live in there destroy whatever they get into; including human flesh.
Inhabitants/NPCs: The Royal Family:
King Gerald: A man in his late 40’s. He rules Floating Cloud Kingdom as a just and fair man. He become the king after his father as his father before him had done, and on and on. A member of the guard as a young man, King Gerald is a very capable fighter, but only resorts to it as a last resort.

Queen Ellie: A slightly younger woman loved by all. She shares in her husbands kindness to the people and the kingdom. She was a member of nobility.

Prince Edward: A young impulsive teenager. Although only 15, he has already been placed in the guard to learn the art of warfare. He believes in Divine Right to Rule (as have all the island since history) but is impatient and wants to rule already. Not really a bad sort, just a big young and reckless.

The Nobility: A group of 15 families that have, since the beginning, been established as the “upper class” of the island. They live on the upper island with the Royal Family and Guard. They live in the city there.
The Royal Guard: A group of the highest order of the guard. The “elite of the elite”. Led by Rafael Highwind, they consist of another 5 members.
The Guard: The army of Floating Cloud Kingdom. Composed of over 2,000 members, they protect the coasts and prevent anyone who has yet to receive permission to sail up to the Royal City.
Everyone else: The others live on the lower half. They are a happy, content people. About 60% are farmers, the rest are blacksmiths, shipwrights, store owners, and business men and women. They are very loyal to the Royal Family.
Town(s)/Village(s)/City or Cities: The Royal City: The city of the Royal family. The city is not the largest, as it only houses the nobility and the Royal Guard. There is a large wall that surrounds the tall buildings and have multiple defense towers. This is done in case of an invasion on the upper island by human or dragon. Behind the wall lies the castle. Larger than the castle on Drum Island, it is too surrounded by a large wall and two large gates that connect it to the Royal City. There is a gigantic statue of Alexander Highwind, the first hero of Floating Cloud Kingdom.
Breezy Village: The village on the lower half of the island. This village is roughly the size of Lougetown. As of last year’s census, there are over 8,000 citizens. The village has four garrisons that surround the village to the north, east, south, and west. This is where the regular guard live. There is only one place suitable to dock, on the south side. The rest of the coast line is filled with jagged rocks that would destroy ships hull. The cloud river that leads to the Royal City comes from a river that flows alongside the docks and through the fields. This river is how the farmers irrigate their crops.
Snaking River: The river that goes throughout the island. As the river continues to travel to the northern end, it slowly snakes its way along the mountain top. Somewhere between the base of the mountain and the next 30 feet, the river slowly changes into a river of cloud. No one is sure how this is done, and the river is regarded as holy at this spot.

Island History:
Floating Cloud Kingdom has been inhibited for nearly 500 years. The first settlers were wanderers that found the place unihabited. How the Royal Family had been established is unknown, however since it had been set up, the family has continued to rule through Divine Right. The first born son is always the succeeding king. Although there would be a son born as the second or third, the Royal Family had kept the “law” and the son had remained the successor. At first, the Royal family lived on the Lower Half with the “common” people, but as they continued to explore the island and had found the Snaking River and found they could climb it. It was at time that the Royal Family, along with the nobility, moved to the Upper Island. As time went on, the inhabitants were able to cultivate the forests and began to start planting.
However winter soon came. The first settlers had thought this was a summer island, as they came in fall and it was still fairly war. Winter was a different story and it hit them hard. They were living in tents and many of the original 550 inhabitants were killed from frostbite alone. On top of that, the crops were destroyed. To be able to feed their families, they formed hunting parties that would attempt to climb the mountains in the Upper Half and catch the elusive mountain goats. It was a hard time, the original 550 had been reduced to a mere 135 by the time spring came.
Immediately they began to prepare. They built sturdy homes out of stone and wood, built silos to house their crops, and began to cultivate most of the Lower Half. By the time the next winters came, they were prepared and comftorable.
But that was not biggest problem they faced. It was pirates. Pirates sailing the Grand Line were sure to see the island and stop by. That fact hit home nearly 10 years later. The settlers had made the island their permanent home, they had large houses, and were quite happy. However one day a group of pirates did show up. Even though they had formed an emergency militia, that was all it was. They werent prepared for the attack. They were nearly whiped out in less than a week. The remaining survivers had fled to the northern edge where the Snake River was. Loading up the canoes that they had hidden for such an emergency, the survivors headed to the Upper Half despite the danger the Upper Half presented.
The pirates gave chase, but it was there that Alexander Highwind became the hero of the island he was. Making their stand at the top of the bank of the river, Alexander and the rest of the villagers destroyed the pirates ships as they came up and killed them.
To make sure something like that would never happen again, they built the large walls that surround the town and created a school with the art of warfare as a major aspect of the childrens learning.
At this time, King Gerald and his family rule. Their captain is Rafael Highwind. Although not a part of the World Government; many delegates have come many times to strike negotiations. Even though King Gerald has nothing against the World Government, he senses something off about the delegates sent to negotiate a truce.
