Name of Island: Flat Farm Island (More commonly known as Windia)
Size of Island: Rather large, probably comparable in size to the Goa Kingdom
Location: Mid-West Blue
Description:
Flat Farm Island, home of the Unitied Farms of Windia, is an island of the world that very much reflects the interference of humans. While it was originally a vast open island of plains and strong winds, the Island has been largely transformed into a country covered in farmland and windmills. Windia recently joined the World Government, surrendering it’s autonomy in order to protect its people from the threats of piracy that had plagued the land since the great age of piracy began.
Flora and Fauna:
The fauna of the island are rather tame. Domesticated animals that you would find here are mainly agricultural ones such as cows, pigs, sheep and poultry. These were brought to the island centuries ago and for a large part the natural fauna that lived here have gradually died out. There still exist small colonies of animals like gophers and foxes, but they tend to be very far away from human settlements.
Similar to the fauna, much of the visible flora of Windia was brought from other lands. Vast fields of crops cover the island since Windia is one of the premier food exporters of the world, jokingly called the agricultural capital of the world. Fields of corn, potatoes, carrots and all sorts of fruits and vegetables make up a large percentage of the fauna that the island has.
Inhabitants: The Windian’s are a hardworking, rural people who are farmers to the core. Even their royal family seems to have the spirit of agriculture, since their castle grounds are filled with crops rather than gardens. An interesting habit of the United Farms of Windia is that rather than by election, their governing body is chosen by a yearly pumpkin growing competition.

Town(s)/Village(s)/City or Cities:
Millton
The capital of the island, Milton is a small city filled with windmills, since Windia is prone to having a windy landscape the mills of the city are constantly working. Almost every building in Millton has some form of prop based power source, with the largest buildings using the power of the wind for industry and even homes having small windmills built into them to support their power. Because of this, Millton can be considered one of the most eco-friendly places in the whole world.
The streets of Millton are often filled during the day with markets, which sell the harvests from the various farming communities from around the island. At the centre of the city is the Windia Assembly Buildings and its grounds, the castle is no exception to the principles of the land; it looks like a large and well-built set of windmills and the castle grounds are filled with fields of crops. It wouldn’t be considered a rare sight to see even the members of the government with their sleeves rolled up and working on his land.
In more recent decades, the benefits of the windmill produced power has given rise to an industrial sector of Millton, where factories and workshops have been set up by talented machinists and engineers in order to manufacture and develop better equipment for the nations farms.
The island also has several small villages dotted around it, which tend to be named after the principle export that the region offers, such as Potato Village or Cornington.

Island History: The island where the Windian Republic now exists was once simply known as Flat Plain Island, and was largely regarded by most to be rather uninteresting aside from its large size. There wasn’t any sort of unique flora or fauna that existed on the island, and the area was for the most part left alone by many of the surrounding nations as it seemed to be of no real value. However, five hundred years ago, a family of farmers saw a great potential in the island and uprooted themselves to move to the land. Arduously working there, initially it was hard to live in a land so open and isolated, but eventually their effort began to pay off. Converting a large amount of the grassland plains into farmland, the family expanded their settlement, forming a small town that would eventually grow into Millton.
This family’s success brought interest from others in West Blue, and quickly other farms began to spring up all around the island. Over generations, the open land was converted so that the majority of it was now filled with farms. The families and farming communities made the decision to unite into a nation, where the heads of each farming family or group would meet to form something of a government for the country. It was agreed that every year, representatives of each family would compete in a pumpkin growing competition in order to decide their chairman.
In the past one hundred years, the settlements of the country have been largely updated. While they were originally simple dwellings, almost all buiildings in the country have been somewhat modernised to take advantage of the natural windiness that land possesses. Windmill’s were installed into most homes through the sponsorship of the Windian Government and more recently the innovative power that these systems have offered has started to give rise to an industrial sector in the nation’s capital.
Six years ago, The United Farms of Windia was officially inducted into the World Government, which for centuries it had been distant from in order to retain a degree of autonomy. However, the recent rise in piracy has forced the country to seek protection that the World Government, since the largely undefended Windia had become something of an easy target for ruthless crews looking to plunder and pillage.
