The sea breeze was refreshing in two fold. For one, it kept Cuomo alert as the salty air made sure that it cooled the already frigid mist from the North Blue waters. And second, it brought the young man back from becoming too immersed and stuck in his own head. As many times before, his thoughts were spent on what he had done and on what he might have done better. This time, his focus was on his debriefing less than a day before. Frustrated at himself for letting something so small and insignificant as letting the demeanor and posture of someone else frustrate him, he stared at the sea waters with a stoic and melancholy look across his face. Unlike so many marines, Cuomo wasn't an overly boisterous personality. He kept to himself, not out of fear or pride, but out of quiet contemplation. He was better than, wasn't he? The meat of the matter though, wasn't whether he was better than it or not, however. No. He had to be. With this test that was coming up, he couldn't afford to let the petty things keep him from focusing. He would have to concentrate about becoming a S.W.O.R.D. marine.
Out in the always frozen weather that the North Blue was know for, Cuomo kept himself covered appropriately with a white coat that stretched down to just above his knees. Complimenting his attire was his trademark, black and silver checkered scarf. It was convenient to have such a thing in weather like this, and if his mission went well, it would receive much more appropriate use here in the north. Always one to look sharp, Cuomo dressed well for any and all occasions, even missions.
Finally, the taller than average marine turned to face the man who had been specified as his partner. Two well polished, silver chains clinked together, while hanging on a loop near his lower back, as he moved.
"How are you handling the boat ride, Hayai?"
He called out to another young, green haired man. Almost immediately after the debriefing about the Rock Dragon Bandits, the men had been assigned their partners for the mission. Cuomo had halfway expected to be coupled with Andrew Tyrfing, but like many things in life, what he had expected and what the outcome had been would be completely different. Instead, Commodore Haunter decided it would be a good idea to pair him up with another man, Hayai Seikou. It would have been a lie to say that he hadn't been a little bit disappointed about not going out with Andrew, after all, he seemed like a good guy, but Cuomo was still happy about getting this assignment/test.
"Do you understand our assignment, here at Shivre Mountain?"
Cuomo hadn’t noticed Hayai in the meeting room back on Jreum, so it would only be common for him to want to make sure Hayai knew what he was getting himself into as well as knowing what would be required of him. As he waited for a response from his new green haired partner, Shivre Mountain would eventually appear as a small point against the horizon's line and continually grow large, signaling both men that they would soon be stepping off onto their very first S.W.O.R.D. assignment.
Cuomo was suddenly hit with a small set of shivers down his spine, though he managed keep himself composed well. A small twist in his mouth curled upward as excitement began to flood him.
