The Start of...Something. (Puck/Invite only)

(OOC:This will be short...since i'm multitasking right now)

Victor had come back to the Pirate's Market after being recruited by Drake to the Creed. After speaking with him briefly it was made clear that he needed a partner of some sort and since the Pirate's Market was renowned to have strong people pass through it all the time. Victor needed someone he could trust as well and since this place attracted bounty hunters like himself he was taking a brief walk through to see what he could find.

Standing up on a building watching the numerous crowds go by he was curious as to what destiny would throw at him. He wasn't going to discriminate as to what he would find..whether the person was strong, weak, brave, or even timid it didn't matter to him all he wanted was someone he could get along with.

After waiting for at least 2 hours Victor layed back on the roof with his legs still dangling over the sides. With an outward sigh he said "Will I ever spot someone out of the ordinary? I can't be traveling with a pirate...they're not trust-worthy.." he looked up at the sky as the clouds drifted by lazily. It was a very normal day for the South Blue.

This...wasn't what she had in mind.

Well, truth be told Amelia DeLioncourte (only known as Puck to the rest of the world) didn't have much in mind when it came to the rest of the world. She knew she was very narrow minded in that aspect, and had tunnel vision mainly because of her life's main pursuit; girls. So, even though she was kicked out of her father's house and was out and about, free of whatever restrictions she ignored even back when she was home, all she looked at was one thing; girls.

She was vaguely aware that, yes, the place around her was beautiful. That there were people other then the cute girls that seemed to take up the whole of her vision. That the food smelled great and the alcohol tasted cool and refreshing in her mouth and throat, that the company was good and most of the people that she met talked a great deal about everything, and their stories were grand even though they could barley keep their eyes off her breasts. Hey, whatever!! They could stare all they liked. Puck hardly cared.

But even she was aware of the slaves.

Notably, the slave women. All sorts of women that were put up for auction and traded for, bartered for and sold for whatever purpose the “owner” wanted. Puck watched the women being prepared for go up on a makeshift stage to be presented to the bidders and felt a surge of anger inside of her. She growled slightly, baring her teeth before turning away. The image was burned into her mind, however, but...what could she do? She was one person. She wasn't some super kick ass ninja woman, even with the powers she had gained from the fruit, powers she was still trying to figure out.

Whatever people said about Puck, no matter how true whatever they said was, Puck knew she had morals when it came to certain things and certain types of people. She didn't steal because she hardly needed to. She never hurt anyone because she didn't want to (though she knew that could easily change). She never turned down a drink or a meal because that would just be insulting. And she never forced a woman (or anyone else for that matter) to do anything she didn't want to to.

And even though she didn't know what was going to happen, she knew she had to free those women. Maybe it would backfire, maybe it would go horribly wrong and she would end up dead but she knew without a shadow of a doubt her father would do the same thing. He followed the rules, yes, but he would do anything in his power to stop such a travesty from taking place. Or...or maybe Puck just needed an excuse to go through with the plan she had forming. Maybe she needed some justification so she wouldn't feel bad. Or...whatever. Her mind was set. Those slaves would go free.

So she drank and enjoyed her company, but she watched the trades, the people, wrote down things she would need to remember later and memorized anything she thought was important. It was exhausting work, though, giving Puck's usually carefree and rather lazy nature when it came to life. And even though Puck would gladly take a beer and a lap dance over this kind of work any day of the week, month or year, she also knew how to keep meticulous notes in order to keep everything in her mind and notes straight. You can't half ass saving lives, her father once said. It was a sentiment Puck barley listened to then but rang in the back of her mind the two days she watched the slave operation taking place.

The third day was when she planned to make it all happen. Well...that night anyways. She took the little black book she had been keeping all her notes stored in and flipped it shut, putting it on the table she was sitting at. This little cafe was sitting right across the way from the Pirate's Market, and it looked so out of place there. It was a juice bar, called “Jinbara's Juices”, which would have immediately turned her off...but their milkshakes were outstanding, and Puck couldn't really help herself.

“Hey lady.”

Puck blinked a few times before turning to see a man sitting at the table with her, sitting on the chair backwards as he faced her. He had an unwashed appearance and wholly serious look, his eyes slightly bloodshot and face slightly bruised and cut up. Puck raised an eyebrow before putting her handy dandy notebook back into her pocket and looking back to the man in curiosity.

“Saw ya scopin' out tha place.” He said softly, his voice entirely too gentle to match his ragged appearance. “Couple a days, in fact. What's yer deal?”

Puck stared before looking back to the slave trade, saying nothing for a few moments. “No deal. Just...watching. Name?”

Puck hated talking to people without knowing their names. If they didn't, she gave them nicknames. It was a practice that drove her father wholly insane as points. So whenever she met someone, she either gave them a nickname that stuck until she finally gained the knowledge of their name, or she simply kept calling them by whatever name her mind would come up with. She didn't know why this was, but it was and she didn't question it as she'd been doing it as long as she could remember.

“Moore.” he responded, not bothering to extend a hand in greeting or anything. “I'm only askin' cause...if yer planning something, I want in. My sister...”

The man looked away, gritting his teeth. Puck knew that look well; the look of regret. She saw it every morning when she looked in the mirror...or anytime, really, when she thought of home. It wasn't like he needed to say much more for Puck to connect the dots either, so Puck simply nodded. She didn't like the trading of slaves in general (especially women, considering her soft spot for them), but this man, Moore, seemed to have a personal investment in Puck's investigation to how this place worked; namely his sister.

Or he could be lying. Either way, Puck didn't care.

“Ara...” Puck sighed, taking a sip of her milkshake before setting it back on the table and crossing her arms. “What happens to be her name?”

“Lydia.” Moore said instantly, his face perking up. “You'll let me be taggin' along then?”

“No.” Puck said, her voice solid. She watched Moore's face fall and she shook her head. “I did not plan on anyone else being with me. All the data and information on the people are for a plan of one person. Changing that would ruin everything. If Moore could tell me her appearance, and I will send her home.”

Moore seemed to understand, though to come to this understanding took him a few minutes of gritted teeth and heavy breathing. He nodded sharply before telling Puck how he remembered his sister, and Puck closed her eyes in concentration as she drew a picture of the woman in her head. She was quite good at that, but then again Puck considered herself an expert on all things woman so it wasn't an issue.

When he left, Puck found herself drawn back to the Pirate's market and sighed. If all went as planned, no one would even know she was there and she could walk away from all of this as if nothing had happened. The only thing anyone would notice would be the complete lack of slaves. And for Puck, that was okay. In, out, gone.

Like dust in the wind.
