(OOC: Again the NPC Rebecca is used with the owners permission)
While Dan had made the offer of a bet on a whim he wasn’t willing to just let it go. Even though the boy was quite right and it was a fact that getting in would be easier than getting out, he wasn’t going to sweat the details. Reckless behaviour wasn’t something usual for Dan, but from time to time he couldn’t help but do something crazy. His father never quite understood where this occasional rash of craziness came from and neither did Dan himself. Maybe his mother had a clue, why her normally so level-headed and reasonable son acted the way he did, for she always showed a little smile, when he came home with cuts, messy cloths and a mischievous smile on his face, ready to tell her what sort of silly thing he had thought up this time.
“Doesn’t the difficulty of the situation make it even more interesting? Surely you will not tell me that you plan to chicken out?”
As for what the bet was about… It seemed that Rebecca had a good idea of what she wanted for she was whispering into her brother’s ear. Of course she could make her demand as she liked. But what was he going to ask for in case he’d won? Betting money, he might or might not have, was a bad idea and on top of that, boring as hell. If one was betting the bet should be something fun. Maybe…
“How about this: If I win, then you are going to dress up like a woman for a whole day.” But his head was still working. “Or maybe going around with a green face for a whole day, or saying just the same word for a whole day. I let you choose which one you’d like. All of them sound fun if you ask me. What about you? What would you want if you win? I tell you right now, I’m not betting money. The reward is going to be split in equal parts to all participants.”
While he hadn’t said anything to Dan’s options yet, Pluto had already agreed to his sister and so Dan took it as a settled thing and started to think about how to actually get in. If Rebecca was on his team, then the plan had to look different than if he went alone. A happy smile appeared on his face. Whatever the end looked like, this saving the princess thing was a story in the making! Nothing half-assed was allowed here or it would just ruin it and what was he going to tell the kids when he got back and told them of his adventures? No, the plan had to have style. He smiled.
“Do you really think we’re just going to sit here and discuss our plan in front of you? Have you already forgotten that we are opposing teams? Let’s go Rebecca!”
He stood up and turned around to the exit, with a sudden motion, that sent his long ponytail flying in a way that would have made any woman jealous. Before he passed the door he turned to Pluto again. “We’re stay at the hotel “Winter Spring” if you need us. You should get a room there too, they have a hot spring and a restaurant that belongs to the hotel. I checked it out beforehand, it looks nice. Not like I can promise you that we will be there all the time. If you’re too slow, we’ll be in the castle before you.”
They left the restaurant and Dan started heading to the hotel, with Rebecca on his trail.
“Shouldn’t we tell Pluto where he can find the freedom fighter for more information? He might want to know where he has to bring the princess if he finds her.” She asked him. Dan raised a brow. “But that’s valuable information. We have a bet, don’t forget that. I’m sure you want to win it, don’t you?” She nodded. “So… What’s the plan?” He thought for a moment and let his gaze wander around, then let it stay on Rebecca. “I have an idea but I need to buy some things first. Why don’t you go to the hotel and try the hot spring there and I’ll go and get you when I finished with my purchase.” He hasty lifted his hands when he saw that Rebecca wanted to protest. “You’ll need to look your best, so taking a bath is important. Just believe me for now, I’ll explain you the plan properly when I’m back.” The girl didn’t look happy about it, but she didn’t refuse. After he got the room key from the reception, who had him pay in advance, they parted ways but not without Rebecca muttering something that sounded like “guys” and “all the same” under her breath. Dan hoped that she wouldn’t try anything on her own. She clearly didn’t seem as if she took the danger that would come with their mission seriously. But since she had left her brother behind on her own initiative this time, she would not go and search for him randomly. At least he hoped that.
