Name of Island: Kabukimono
Size of Island: A trio of close small-sized islands
Location: Grand Line, Peace Route
Flora and Fauna: The island is filled with various plants and animals that are basically the same in their form as common animals in other places, however with one key difference; They are much flashier!
It seems that intimidation has taken precedence here over camouflage; consequently the creatures that are born here seem to be more brightly coloured and bouffant than their cousins around the world. Wolves, for example, are brightly coloured, usually blue and yellow stripes and large hair that almost seems to be styled, modelled on designs such as ‘The Regent’.
Inhabitants: The human inhabitants of the island all seem to be entangled in some way with the criminal gangs that rule over the land. Even the most innocent of businesses seems to be at the very minimum paying protection money to the local Yakuza operations.
The Yakuza have three clan’s, each of whom are in charge of the town on each island and constantly vying for control over the others. They’re paid up with the right people, so as long as their operations aren’t too obvious or heinous, the Marines and World Government tend to leave the islanders to fight amongst themselves.
NPCS: Yamaguchi Kenichi- The head of the Yamaguchi clan, the most dominant of the three parties.
Sumiyoshi Ikkei- The oyabun of the Sumiyoshi Family, principle rivals of the Yamaguchi clan.
Inagawa Bouaku- The young and self-proclaimed boss of the new Inagawa group, which has only recently come into prominence.
Town(s)/Village(s)/City or Cities: Kabukimono is endowed with three large towns, each on one of it’s islands;
Yamagaiku- The town held by the rulership of the Yamaguchi Clan, which is built on a slope towards the bay. The buildings have a somewhat classical feel, somewhat reminiscent of historic japan. Internally they have all the modern conveniences that are popular throughout the world, but the Yamaguchi clan is very proud of forbearers and makes an effort to maintain a more traditional feel to it. There are many establishments related to the Yamaguchi’s here, such as the peddling stands in the markets that sell your less legally obtained goods and the gambling houses that are dotted around.
Sumigaiku- In complete contrast the Yamagaiku, the Sumiyoshi’s who run Sumigaiku make constant attempts to keep the town modern and trendy. There are bright lights and big advertisements everywhere, and the town has a much seedier underbelly than it’s sister, being home to modern casino’s and even brothels. The Sumiyoshi have their hand in every dirty business going, and even a few that aren’t, so you can practically find any sort of establishment here.
Kurosuakinai – The third town in the Kabukimono triangle, which tends to sit between the other two islands and in the past was both a trading and battle ground for the two parties. Compared to the other two, it is somewhat dilapidated and seems to be quite literally ‘stuck in the middle’, with traditional homes and more modern accommodation being jumbled together. Inagawa Bouaku is the leader of this area, having assembled a rag tag Yakuza of his own to defend it from the other two clans. Consequently, it seems to currently be in a state of relative peace as both parties tries to out-woo the other to form an alliance.

Island History: Kabukimono Island has, as long as it’s history been recorded in the last three hundred years, been the home to the Yamaguchi’s and the Sumiyoshi’s. Word has it that the land was originally established by a pair of brothers who fell into disagreement over whether the natural wolf population was blue with yellow stripes or vice versa. This disagreement created a rift that survives today, though it’s unclear how many of the current descendants of the brothers know of the incident that sparked the bad blood.
They founded their camps on islands furthest away from each other, which have eventually grown into the towns you see today. In the central island, those who did not wish to be involved in the constant conflict started to settle, but unfortunately for them, the clan’s decided that was the best place to meet on neutral ground. Many battles and skirmishes have taken place on the small central island that has come to house the town of Kurosuakinai, leading its residents to be highly fearful of each clan.
This continued for hundreds of years, until seven years previously when an outlander named Inagawa Bouaku and stood up for its people, managing to talk the residents into standing up for themselves. Now the island along with its sisters has its own gang of rookie Yakuza, who are possibly the closest to ‘Chivalrous Organisations’ of the three’s gangs, as they actually were founded to protect people. With Inagawa Bouaku and Kurosuakinai now independent of either clan, the three islands have worked into a (mostly) peaceful stalemate, with the two larger and older clans vying to win over Inagawa and claim his support. It was quickly decided that an attack by either of the larger clans to retake Kurosuakinai would be a disaster, as its remnants would only go one to ally against the aggressor, putting them an ultimate disadvantage.
Currently the viewpoints of the three leaders are as follows;
Yamaguchi Kenichi- Isn’t particularly interested in taking over Kurosuakinai, but also doesn’t want to see it lost to the rival Sumiyoshi gang, so he tends to sabotage Sumiyoshi Ikkei’s attempts to get friendly with them.
Sumiyoshi Ikkei- Very much interested in allying and controlling Kurosuakinai, as he thinks it would give him the edge that his clan has so long sought over the Yamaguchi’s. Often politically flirting with Inagawa Bouaku, his plans always end in failure either due to Yamaguchi interference or his own lack of diplomacy.
Inagawa Bouaku- More interested in protecting the people of his land, and doesn’t give two shakes about what either Sumiyoshi or Yamaguchi wants. Though he does find it fun to tease them from time to time.
