Mission#77 My Wine Dangit! (Ice,Kane)

Mission #77
On the island of Micqueot, there has been reports of a group of bandits who are stealing wine from local factories. There is a reward of for whoever can terminate the group responsible and bring back the missing wine.

Mist strolled lazily through the town along with his captain Kaede who was signifcantly shorter than him but never said it to her face;fearing the results of what that would be but today they were on the hunt for a group who had apparently been stealing wine and some patrons with some money was offering a reward for it fun.. Mist thought silently as he walked paying very close attention to the seens around him. Mist saw a vendor nearby selling guns and swords;He looked sketchy so Mist decided to question him "Scuse me sir but by any chance have you heard or seen a group of bandits in this town nearby or in the perimeter?". The merchant was extremely scared of Mist and nodded his head no. Mist had always hated liars so he decided to do this the violent way. Mist wrapped one of his silver chains around his fist and punched the stand into two bits and pieces flying everywhere. "Five seconds or you will end up like this stand!".

The mission was a simple one. Low risk. That was what Kaede was looking for in order for the 8 Pages to be able to easily come up with some quick cash. They would need it if they were going to expect not only to get into the Grand Line but to also be able to afford the supplies they would need to stock up on for within the Grand Line. She didn't know much about how to navigate in the Grand Line but knew about the difficulties enough to know that having a month's supply of food on hand would not be being overly cautious.

Retrieving wine was definitely one of the easiest ways she knew to make some cash and probably not be questioned about their actions in the process. The calm Captain watched Mist as he marched over to a merchant with a cabbage stand and asked him if he knew anything about the bandits that they were looking for. When the man answered in the negative, Mist proceeded to destroy his cart. Kaede's eyes widened only slightly but she kept calm as Mist threatened the man to tell them what he knew or he would render him like the cart.

"MY CABBAGES! Okay, I'll tell you what I know... I heard a group of bandits are stationed in a cave just north of here. They come in and steal wine from local factories but... I swear that's all I know about them!" the Merchant began to literally cry, hoping that his poor pathetic life would be spared.

Mist was pleased that the wimpy man had finally told him what he wanted to know but he should have given him the information the minute Mist asked him but Mist decided to just let it go being the more intelligent being . Mist began walking in the direction the merchant had pointed them toward taking his time slowly walking listening for anything he had slightly overheard a pirate talking about the wine they were searching for he snuk up behind the man in the alleyway and threatened him to tell him how many of them were there and the pirate decided to be defiant and Mist did not even care anymore .

He generated chains that wrapped around the mans body crushing him slowly making the man experience extremities never felt before "Two seconds or you die!". Mist hated when he handled situations like a brute but that was his job and he figured with pirates the only and best way to handle situations was with force . The man spilled his guts and told mist the amount of pirates stationed in the warehouse and his estimate was about right around that area . Mist walked back toward Kaede and said "Cap'n Ma'mm there is about 30 or so pirates in that warehouse.."

After a while of walking after they got the information from the Cabbage seller, Mist was off again chasing down someone in an alleyway for information. Kaede stood outside, arms folded across her flat chest. Her short blond hair ruffled in the wind. Her brown eyes watched for Mist's return softly. When he reappeared he told her that they would have around thirty or so bandits to have to deal with.

"That's a lot for such a small reward. I'd estimate that they aren't that powerful but at the same time we should be cautious. Perhaps simply no one knows what they're about yet. Wine stealing isn't exactly the biggest crime of the century, after all," Kaede told him, knowing that in a historical context it would be very insignificant. The only reason anyone cared was because the locals were losing out on the funds. That's why the World Government hadn't gotten involved yet.

But things could certainly escalate from there into bigger and larger-scale crimes. That was another thing that history could teach them.

I assume then that the warehouse is to the North? Seems our Cabbage Seller wanted us to believe that they were in a cave," Kaede commented, realizing the difference in the stories. Perhaps it was because they were all rumoured. "Let's be careful as we head there. They could have a trap set up for us." With that Kaede headed for the North.

It didn't take long for the two to get there even on foot. The warehouse loamed up ahead and sat silently. There were no signs of recent comings and goings except some disturbed dirt around the front entrance. It looked like heavy objects had been drug inside at some very recent points in time.

"We should go about this quietly. If they know we're on to them they could easily overpower us," Kaede whispered to Mist as she crouched down near a tree and peered out.

She said this even as a giant shadow was cast overtop of the two of them. But Kaede was quick. She whipped around and struck the man in the gut with her foot, knocking the wind out of him. He tumbled over on his side in pain. "Or we could take out the ones that come to us... Or use this one to tell us about the others," Kaede added.

Mist watched as his captain quickly beat down some poor sap that snuck up on her quite easily. Mist was one who could dispatch any person quickly but she did it with such great poise and elegance that it all seemed like a blur. "Okay Cap'n that works too, Now how about you spill your guts fatty?" Mist looked at the man for a moment and again he never like people not replying quickly enough to his questions he wrapped one of his hands in a chain and punched him hard in the gut hearing the satisfaction of a rib crack. For some odd reason he started smiling simulating the battle strategies in his head of what would be to come 2 vs however many fools stood in their way an exciting fight indeed and he looked forward to it hopefully he could fight someone strong enough to last against one of his actual attacks , Mist was never the type of person to actually think before he punched it just came naturally the flow of the person their aura their muscles tensing it all felt like something he was born to do was to just battle and it came naturally.

As the man slumped forward onto his knees, Mist told him to confess before punching him directly in the gut after wrapping his chain around his fist. A crunching noise sounded. Being an archaeologist that was pretty familiar with anatomy and bone knowledge, she was fairly certain that the blow had broken one of his higher ribs. Kaede's face slightly cringed at the blow. Not because she particularly felt bad for the man, but because she was hoping that he wouldn't yell out too loudly to draw attention to themselves.

"GA-" started to cry the man from the pain. Kaede slapped a hand over his mouth, a repulsed pull to her lips as she did so because the man's breath was hot and humid and immediately caused her hand to be covered in moisture.

"Now, you're not going to cry out in pain, okay? If you do we'll break more of your ribs. Instead your going to walk a few meters that way and get the attention of your other buddy to come toward you. If you comply, it'll be easier for you. Got it?" Kaede said softly to the man. He nodded, eyes wide with pain and fear. Fear at being hurt worse than how he'd already been hurt.

"Good. I'm going to let you go now. Walk left for a few meters, stop, and wave a friend over to you." Again the man nodded. Kaede slid her hand back, wiping it onto her pant leg in a very non-lady-like manner. The man grimanced and grunted as he struggled to his feet.

He looked at the two of them, fear still there even though he was essentially home free, before he walked forward the few meters. Kaede motioned for Mist to follow. They'd be able to ambush the other guard as soon as he came close enough.
