Mission #6: The Lotus and the Fish (Pierce, Todd)

Carrying two paper bags, Pierce was heading back through town, back to the docks. To make sure he didn't get lost, he had memorized the landmarks on his way to the market. In the bags he was bringing back were various fruits, vegetables, and spices, basically everything that wasn't on the ship that he would be more comfortable with. He also was bringing a few lemons for the Red Snapper he had caught earlier today.

People were still staring at him, having not seen a fishman before or simply not being used to him, he wasn't exactly sure. Stopping to ask for directions, Pierce looked at a woman standing on the corner intersection of one of the streets. "Excuse me? Uh, I passed fountain on the way here. Do you know where it might be?" She stared up at him, and began to back away slowly. "No no no no no. I just want to get back to my ship, nothing else I swear." She was still backing away, but pointed a finger down the intersection.

Pierce smiled, pulling on his bandana a little bit like he was tipping his hat to the woman. "Thank you. I'll, uh, just be going I suppose. Have a nice day." He meandered off down the street, searching for the fountain he had seen. He remembered it was depicting a seahorse or something at least very similar.

Todd was relaxing on the corner of a roof top, gazing at the beauty of the city. "What a beautiful day to relax" said Todd as he carefully grasped his left hand and grew an apple from the palm of his left hand, thanks to the plant plant fruit he devoured. Todd slowly took a bite of his delicious apple and tossed it over the edged of the roof top. "Ah" Todd said letting the sun beam down onto bare chest. "Hmmmmmm. I may need to go back to the market to get some food to eat." Todd quickly got out of his sun bathing attire and switched into his lotus outfit. Once jumping off the roof of the building, he carefully landed on the floor and noticed a group of thugs right beside him. "Hey big guys. Todd shouted across from them "Give me all of your money". The thugs looked at him and laughed out loud. They all took out their weapons and started to charge after Todd. Todd swiftly dodged their attacks, and slamed his hand on the ground and shouted "Forest". Soon after, a barrier of trees lifted the thugs in the air. Todd chuckled as he took their money.

Coming to another intersection, Pierce had to stop again. "Wait a minute. I think I remember this one, uh. I asked the man which way I should go for the market and he said to turn right." Pierce looked down the street again, it wound up and down a hill so he couldn't see what was at the bottom or at the top. "So if I turned right that means..." He looked back and forth and slowly made his way left, down the hill. Halfway down, the fishman stopped again. "Or did he tell me to turn left? No this must be what he said, the ocean would be downhill, wouldn't it?" He heard a noise come from beside him.

Looking over, he noticed a barrier of trees rising above the skyline of the buildings. "What the heck?" He looked down at his paper bags and shrugged, putting them on like sleeves so he could use his arms properly. He climbed the side of one of the buildings, peeking over the roof to see what happened. There were a few people stuck in the trees, and even a few bricks of rubble from the street they sprung up from. "..."

He scratched his head, trying to figure out what happened. Climbing up so that he was sitting on the roof, he looked perplexedly at the strange happening. "That's really wierd."

Todd laughed as his loot increased 10 fold. "Thanks for the dough gentlemen, oh and thanks for the bags of food that you left for me on the floor. Well bye" Todd said smiling as he excited with a happy tone. Exciting the town square, He noticed a few thugs that was hiding in the alley way come after him. Todd looked at all of them and sighed to himself. Suddenly, they started to shoot at him."Oi you a**holes, dont shoot at me" Said Todd shooting out poisonous spikes at his opponents. Todd watched as 5 of the spikes poisoned the 5 out of 7 thugs. "Crap, Now I gotta take out the rest of these idiots. Todd slammed his hands again, and started to grow a large banana. Once he finished peeling it, he threw it behind him, and watched as the last two idiots slipped and fell into a heap of breast from an angry woman. Todd turned around to look at the young brunette "Feed them well lady. Make sure they get their dose of Vitamin D" Todd started to chuckles as he started to run away. Once he far away, he used his plan plant powers to create a vine, and swoop to a roof top. Sadly though, he knocked into a fisherman.

"Huh?" Only too late did Pierce notice the man swinging towards him. He was smacked in the face, sending him backwards a bit, almost rolling across the roofs, but he only slid. He wasn't about to let good food go to waste by rolling on it. Taking hold of one of the roof's grey shingles, he propped himself up, looking around for the man that hit him. There he was, only a few feet away.

He rubbed his own face, it was a little sore from where he had been smacked. "Ow. Hey you okay?" He brushed himself off of the dust that had gathered on the roofs, making sure the food was alright. Dang, he'd have to wash some of the stuff when he got back to the ship, but at least it was better than having to replace everything. "That was quite a hit you gave me. Almost botched my stuff. It's really important you know." He looked back at the trees that had sprung up, carrying people and bricks. He also heard moans, coming from one of the allys close by, there were gunshots earlier too, now that he thought about it.

"You on the run or something? Those the pursuers?" He pointed at the tree and street, looking over the edge of the rooftop as he did so.

Teague sighed as he was bumped into. Todd jumped up and gasped at the the person he bumped into. Todd accidentally bumped into a fisherman. Todd bowed in respect for his reckless behavior. "I apologize for my reckless behavior, My name is Todd. I was in need of money. So, I took it from those thugs. At least I'm fine". Todd looked over and noticed a bunch of food knocked over. "It seems I have knocked over your belongings by accident. Allow me to grow you some fresh produce" Stomping his foot on the ground, Todd watched as a small stem, grew into a vast selection of vegetables and fruits. "Pick which ones you want" Todd said smiling. Todd decided to see the view from below, so he decided to spy on people. He watched as marines were trying to cut down the trees he created, carry the sick victims he created onto a stretcher, and try to calm the woman and the other thugs from killing each other. Todd chuckled in delight. "Well I guess thats that" Todd said cheerfully at the fisherman. Soon after, Todd stared at the fisherman carefully. "Whats your name" Todd said calmly and quickly.

Pierce walked over to the tree, grinning yet clearly dumbfounded. "Heh heh. That's cool." He picked one of the fruits and inspected it carefully. "I'm Pierce. Aha! Durians?" He used one of his quilled fins to pick one of the large, prickled fruits from the tree. Once it was off, he transferred it to his hands, being careful not to hurt himself. He had dropped one on his foot in his apprenticeship once, and it had taken him out of work for about 15 minutes. It was not a comfortable fruit to be around.

"I wonder if I could make a dessert out of this?" He looked over at the man, quite excited at the devil abilities he had. "This is so neat! Now I feel like I've wasted money, on shopping." He picked off another durian, carrying both under his arms while the bags were shifted further onto his back. It was only a little uncomfortable, there was a slight pressure on his shoulders from the pulling of the bags. "Anyways, the produce I have wasn't all that damaged, just filthied a little. Nothing a little sink wash can't fix. But thanks for the extra." He gestured the durians, lifting them up a little, then dropping them back to their original position in his hold. "What's YOUR name then, human?"

Todd chuckled at his question. "For starters, human, is really offensive to me. My name is Todd." Todd replied with a happy smile on his face. Todd looked behind the fisherman, and grabbed some fruits off the branches, and decided to feast. Todd reached for other types of fruit, and started juggling them in the air for his amusment. A few moments later, he threw the juggling piles of fruit onto the faces of unsuspected citizens. Todd watched as the citizens screamed out cursed words and other words for the falling fruit incident. "Ha Ha Ha ha. Oh my gosh, that was hilarious. A banana feel onto the ground, and a fat dude tripped, and landed on the ladies boobs. Classic funny." Todd looked back at the fisherman and studied him for a bit. "It's cool to see a fisherman, but why are you on land. I'm not being rude, I'm just being curious." Todd said eating a pear. Suddenly, a group of mobsters climbed on top of the roof and shouted "They're right there. Get them". Taking out their guns, they started to fire at Todd an Pierce. "Looks like we have guest over man. Is it too late too clean house" Todd said chuckling.

"I don't see how it's all that offensive, but if you say so." Pierce watched as Todd messed around with the people in the streets. He would have scolded him for wasting food like that, but if he could grow whatever he wanted whenever he wanted, it probably wasn't all that bad. As for messing with the people, Pierce thought it was rude but he didn't want the durians he had been given to be retracted by the human who had given them to him.

"Ha Ha Ha ha. Oh my gosh, that was hilarious. A banana feel onto the ground, and a fat dude tripped, and landed on the ladies boobs. Classic funny."

Pierce looked at him and smiled weakly. "Yeah. Heh heh, uh, really funny."

"It's cool to see a fisherman, but why are you on land. I'm not being rude, I'm just being curious."

He lifted the bags slightly, keeping the fruits under his arms in his hold, trying to not hurt himself with their thorns. "Shopping. Just a refill on supplies to work with. The ship I'm on doesn't offer a whole lot to work with so, here I am." He grinned widely.

A gunshot shocked him into a larger awareness. "What the heck?" Looking down into the streets again, he saw more thugs, firing guns at him and his new friend. As a bullet lodged into the roof at his feet, Pierce jumped a little, prompting the durian to stick him in his sides. "OW! Damn it!" He wanted to drop them but he knew better than that. He wasn't planning on using the skin for anything, so he placed the durians in the gutter of the roof. He kept his bags on however, tightening the straps so nothing would fall out during his retaliations.

"I'm not taking this. C'mere you!" He jumped of the roof, sliding on the ground before kicking up at a man's gun to disarm him. Using the momentum of the kick, he flipped onto his feet and kicked behind him to disarm another man. "Now you both go down! Airflare Ebosia!" By pulling in his extended leg, Pierce gained momentum, using his hands on the ground to keep balance while he repeatedly spin-kicked the two men.

Todd smiled in delight as his new friend was getting ready to attack the thugs that tried to assault us. Todd looked at his friends attack and sighed. "Don't stop being focused you bastard" Yelled some of the thugs from across the roof. One of the thugs took out a big gun, and aimed it at Todd. One of the thugs smiled and fired at Todd. The bullet flew and pierced threw Todd. Todd gasped as his head had a big huge whole in it. Todd took out a mirror and checked out the appearance. "Oh my god. You freaking losers. Thats not cool guys " Todd said getting pissed off. Todd slammed his hands together, and created a thorn like whip, swirling the whip in the air, he slammed it at some off the thugs. With its sharp points, the whip gripped the neck of a thug in front of him, watching the small ounces of blood drip through out the neck. Todd calmly lifted his arms, and then yanked the whip in the air, slamming the thugs on the cold hard roof top. Todd looked at the broken roof top, and then charged at the next thug in his path. Todd grabbed his neck, and shouted "Rejuvenation".

As his opponents fell to the ground, he returned to a standing position, checking his bags. "Nothing damaged. Good." As one of the toppled men reached for his gun on the ground. Quickly, Pierce stamped down on it, causing enough damage to prevent it's further use (that being a massive splintering of the butt and warping of it's barrel and metal work). He scowled down at the man, adjusting his bandana. "Stop it. I am not even kidding." He kicked the gun remnants away. "Be thankful I held back. Geez, I didn't want to hurt anybody, but if you guys try anything like that again," He was adressing the both of them. "Let's just say I wouldn't try it in your shoes."

He turned to see how his trickster friend was doing, surprised to see a massive hole in his head. It startled him at first, but when Todd was still moving and complaining about it, "Oh. The Devil Fruit, I get it." Since the gunmen were down, he figured he'd get his durians back. The person he had just met could probably hold his own for a moment. And besides, if need be, he could use the durians as weapons. He started climping the wall, using his quilled fins as climbing spikes.

Todd snickered to himself, because of the trouble he had caused for him and his friend. Todd looked around, and noticed all of the thugs, and other people who assisted the thugs, were taken out. Todd listened as the people that saw the fight, yelled at him, and called him a monster. Todd watched from above, as random people throw stuff at him and yell at him.Todd felt shunned by the people he associated with. He started to take a few steps back wards, then dashed to the other end of the area. He then jumped off the cliff of the building, and landed on the floor. He then protected himself, by slamming his hands on the ground, and creating a wooden wall, to block the alley. Todd sighed to himself and looked toward Pierce. "Don't mind them dude. They're just haters" Todd replied smiling. He looked over and noticed an alley area. Todd thought for a second. He thought of a plan for him and Pierce to escape threw the other exit. Todd looked back at the angry crowed curing at him. Then he went back to wards Pierce. "OK" Todd said "Lets leave through the other section. I gotta get out of here". Todd waited until Pierce moved.

"Okay then. I know a place where I can hide you. Let's see, I was heading this way..." He pointed towards a wall. "But we can't use this path so..." He looked down the alley way again. "Okay." He ran out the alley way and turned down the street. "We just have to head down hill to the coast. If we find the shipyard, we'll be solid. Someone I know is getting a ship there at the moment."

The side streets were fairly empty, no people at all in some places. After a while, Pierce stopped in a courtyard, breathing a little heavily. "That was fun. Gimme a sec, I need to check on the food." The durians were fine. A little too fragrant for him to hold onto for too much longer, especially while his heart was accelerated from the run. Placing them on the ground, Pierce walked over to a bench and set his bags down. He checked through them, touching everything he had bought to make sure nothing was bruised or damaged in any way. "That's a pretty neat ability you got. How'd you get it? I mean, I know it's a devil fruit but, you know, how'd you get it."

Todd looked at pierce quietly for a second and stared off into space. "I was once a martial arts master, at a far away dojo" Todd said calmly. Todd continued to go into space, he remembered his life and his friends, the woman of his life, and the man he wanted to kill. "I was adopted by a very wise man. He was my master at the time. Me and my brother, constantly trained to honed are skills. Over time I took over my masters traits and used them for good reasons. But my brother only wanted to get stronger. The years went by, and I was chosen to become one with the great martial artist, thus making me eat the plant plant fruit as a reward. My brother's jelousy turned to rage for the whole academy. That night, when I was going to talk to my master, I found him dead by katana through the chest. I quickly discovered that my brother was involved. After that horrible day, I took over the role of my master, and started teaching. Once I got adjusted, it felt good. I had some good times with the women I loved, and there were peaceful times in the academy. But, One unforgettable morning, one of our ninjas spied five marine ships. Once the ships got into range, they automatically started firing. My whole life went up into smoke in only 3 hours.
