Name of Island: Taumatawhakatangi (I got this off the name of a New Zealand hill that would continue the name maybe 20-30 more letters at the least)
Size of Island: This is a fairly large isle, it is large enough to contain one major kingdom in it.
Location: Warring Route
Inhabitants:
There are two sets of inhabitants currently living on this island. There are the original people of the island led by their king Bonzu Pipinpadaloxicopolis The Third. And the invading people led by their lord Gobyo Meramenaomizocolurba The Third. Unfortunately for all who visit this island, every name from the invaders names to the original people’s names to the island’s name itself are obscenely long. Because of the increased length of names many islanders can hold their breath much longer than normal humans.
Town(s)/Village(s)/City or Cities:
Daloxicopolis: The original capital of the land it is situated in the middle of the island with a river running just outside of it, within it sits the seat of the throne on which Bonzu . . . still rules. The city is broken up into two major levels. They are the Upper Level and Lower Level. As such there are two major sets of wall that surround the city. The outer and inner walls are huge walls the outer stands 10 feet wide and 100 feet tall. The inner wall is smaller at 6 feet wide and 50 feet tall.
Upper Level: The land of the rich nobles and the royal palace. There are only houses up here. Each mansion is nearly 4000 square feet. There is one inn here named The Golden Club it serves high class beer and rooms there cost in excess of thousands of beri.
Lower Level: The majority of the urbanites live here. All the major markets, barracks, pubs, restaurants are all situated in this area. Over 10,000 citizens make this city their home.
Aomizocolurba: Situated on the cliffs of the western coast of the island it isn’t truly a city. It’s a military base set up by Gobyo Meramenaomizocolurba the Third. It covers the military HQ of their war effort. There are also tons of barracks that can give shelter to nearly one thousand soldiers. Of course only two hundred soldiers call this base home. The majority are at war. If you want to join their army this is where you would go.
Malatosiclotown: A town of 726 people it sits on the southern coast of the island. Recently it has been converted into the HQ of the native people of the island. It used to be a merchant town, now covered in fortifications; the few remaining wooden structures have been converted into barracks. Most citizens have moved out to the surrounding area with the exception of the bartenders and those who owned the inns. This is where you would go to get a job in the war for the native’s side.
Psolitolpitoctown: On the eastern coast of the island it’s a prosperous town that is very unaffected by the war. Life goes on normally there, with the exception of fighting between pirate crews who frequent the area. This town is known for its excellent beer and dangerous pubs. There is also a small merchant sect where you can buy most of any needs that are needed for traveling.
Loctoyopolocto Village: The village which was once prosperous was recently run over by the invaders. The whole village was destroyed and all that is left is a bunch of burned wood and ruins. (srry im running low on inspiration)
Zuluquctumustulu Village: This village sits in the middle of the war zone. Within the last few weeks control of it has gone back and forth between the two factions. The villagers happen to be very unhappy with what is happening and would probably give quite a bit to get some protection that is if you can guard it.
Flora and Fauna:
Flora: The majority of the island is covered in plain grass, nothing special. There are small patches of forest which are made up of mainly large deciduous trees. These supply the majority of the wooden resources for the island. The small variety of crops grown here are in crop fields.
Fauna: Because of the size of the island it is quite diverse in species.
Plains:
Majora Deer: 2x the size of a normal deer their horns are as hard as steel.
Minora Wolves: A type of wolf that hunts on the open plain. They work in packs of 15-20 and prey on the deer and travelers. They are smaller than regular wolves but make up for it in their numbers.
Forests:
Forest Giant Spiders: They inhabit the trees weighing in at around 75 pounds. Their poisonous fangs paralyze their opponents where after that they dissolve the bodies and drink them.
Shores:
Dark Iguanas: Almost 3 meters long and 250 pounds, they are the largest animals on the island. Trained as cavalry in the army their scales are as hard as tempered steel. Their teeth can munch down with 200 lbs of force. They are not an easy enemy if you are on their bad side. Very rare to find though, they only come out at night and tend to stay away from civilization.
Island History: The island used to be a whole set of underground plateaus. After some giant tectonics and earthquakes the plateaus raised up to form the giant island. With them came the iguanas which survived in the sea. Over time humans as well as the majority of flora and fauna came over by boat or raft. In the beginning the humans lived in separate groups connected by language alone. Until the coming of Bonzu Pipinpadaloxicopolis The Great ( or the First) who united the different groups into one major kingdom. He originally named the kingdom Taumatawhakatangihangaoauauotameteaturipukakapikimanaungahoronukupokaiwhenuakitanatahu and the isle entered a time of peace. Except for the point that the exceptionally long breathed people of the island could not survive pronouncing the name of their kingdom. So King Gonzo Pipinpadaloxicopolis changed the name of the island to Taumatawhakatangi. And life continued on the island growing with the prosperous nature of the island. Then during the beginning of the rule of Bonzu Pipinpadaloxicopolis the Third the unimaginable happened. A nearby island sunk back into the sea. The surviving people of the sunken island invaded Taumatawhakatangi led by their king Gobyo Meramenaomizocolurba The Third. The continued battle has laid ruin to much of the western half of the island. Recently the native people have been pushing the invaders to the coast. But the invaders have held out in places like Zuluquctumustulu Village and their line seems to have a large bulge. The running total of deaths, soldiers and civilians is closing in on 50,000 dead. Once the marines tried to intervene but it was all for nothing, neither side was willing to negotiate so the marines just left. No new peace treaties have been tried for in ages.
