}Personality
Sheltered from the World
Amaterasu has never known the wider world beyond her shinobi clan and a few close friends. She’s incredibly naive and knows almost nothing about the world aside from Wano’s culture and what little she’s been able to glean of it throughout her childhood. Her clan revered her like a goddess, so she doesn’t even understand normal social interactions or customs that would be common sense to anyone else because of the special treatment that she had been given.
Discerning Glutton
Though Amaterasu doesn’t look it, she’s an incredible glutton. Entire tables of food can disappear in the blink of an eye, though she doesn’t like to eat when others are watching due to an intense feeling of self consciousness. She’s also pretty particular about what foods she eats. She likes only the freshest of ingredients and can tell when something is even the slightest bit stale or old thanks to her incredible sense of smell.
Supremely Shy
Due to her relatively sheltered childhood, the only people that Ammy has ever had contact with are direct family members and other children who reached out to her first. As such, Ammy has absolutely no idea what to do when a stranger talks to her. She panics, struggles to speak, and generally short circuits. She’ll still try to communicate through gestures and little drawings, and she’s incredibly easy to read as she wears her heart on her sleeve.
Carelessly Kind
Ammy’s default is to be kind to others. She offers anything she can to even strangers. She doesn’t ask questions, and she doesn’t discriminate. This sort of thoughtless kindness can actually backfire intensely combined with her extreme naivety. Her sheltered life didn’t bring her into contact with criminals or any sort of ne'er-do-well, so she can be easily taken advantage of without her even knowing.
Heedless Whimsy
Spontaneous to a fault, Ammy doesn’t have any clear goals in life. She just bounces from one thing to another like a distractible child. If something catches her eye, she’ll just wander off to go see what it’s about. She doesn’t get lost so much as she loses people, usually by accident. Her wandering ways can put her into harm’s way without her even realizing it. She’s just idly curious about the world and is easily pulled into every direction.
Appearance
A short, petite looking woman, Amaterasu stands at a meager 5’1” (158 cm). However, she carries herself with a grace and confidence that gives her an all around aura of being larger than life. She has a distinctly oval shaped face with two tone colored eyes. Her eyes are blue-pink and bright, filled with curiosity. She does wear light makeup with heavier red markings around her eyes and on her forehead, which are ceremonial to her people’s culture and traditions. Ammy has long, straight black hair that she keeps immaculately groomed. It falls all the way down to the ground if she doesn’t do something with it.
As for clothing, Ammy favors loose and flowing kimonos and other traditional garbs from her home country of Wano Kuni. In her role as a shrine maiden, she wears the traditional white and red garb. She also has some more tight fitting clothes in the form of her shinobi garb, but she prefers to wear things that are loose and pretty. She doesn’t particularly care if it gets dirty of torn.

Smell
Said to have a sense of smell and hearing to rival the canine Minks and familiars of her clan, Ammy can recognize and memorize various different scents and easily distinguish between them. She can tell how old a scent is and also track specific scents. This allows her to get a somewhat vague picture of events by scent alone. Of course, efforts that would diminish or erase scents are still effective against her.

Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Simurgh
}The Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Simurgh resembles a peach. Its skin is pink with the light pink swirling pattern customary to Devil Fruits. It sparkles with a golden sheen in the light with a golden curly stem and two bright green leaves. It looks and smells like a divine peach out of legend with a heavenly taste. It does not taste heavenly. The taste is akin to sour rice, juicy and a shock to the senses.
Solar Flame
Tier ★
Solar Flame Production
The mythical Simurgh possesses the ability to ignite itself in a brilliant white flame as bright as the sun. These flames are solid, have weight, and are an extension of the user’s body. This allows them to effectively change their size by wreathing their body in flame. The user can control the intensity of the light of their flame from a soft glow to blinding light. These flames have a gentle warmth and accelerate plant growth, making a seedling sprout into a mighty oak in moments.
Nature’s Bounty
Tier ★
Magic Seed Production
The mythical Simurgh is blessed with the power of the World Tree from which all plants originated. Seeds are nestled in the Devil Fruit user’s fur, which can sprout and grow almost instantaneously. These seeds can be existing plants or fantastical plants straight from the Devil Fruit user’s imagination.
Nature’s Wrath
Tier ★
Plant Manipulation
Plants yield to the Devil Fruit user like worshipers to a goddess. The Devil Fruit user possesses the ability to control and manipulate existing plants as well as the ones created from their magical seeds. Thanks in large part to the Devil Fruit user’s Solar Flame, both existing and created plants can grow, stretch, and strike at incredible distance.

Background
}Amaterasu was born in Wano Kuni to the main family of a clan of highly skilled shinobi. She was an only child of an overbearing and overprotective father named Izanagi. Her mother died due to complications during childbirth, so it was just her and her father for the longest time. They lived in a grand estate with the branch families often coming to visit or pay their respects. Amaterasu wasn’t allowed to associate with many of her cousins when she was little, due to her poor constitution.
What little interaction with others that Amaterasu was allowed to have came in the form of bodyguards who her father assigned to watch over and protect her while he was away on business, and the clan familiars which came in the form of trained wolves. One such bodyguard was a fellow shinobi by the name of Akaito Shido whom she took to very warmly, but often made a game of trying to escape him and causing him trouble.
Her sheltered life came to an end when she was seven years old. In the wake of the coup in Wano Kuni, her clan and other shinobi families decided to flee the country in order to return one day and reclaim it. Her clan and several others formed a shinobi house that specialized in scouting and tracking. It was called the House of Dogs. Three other houses were formed and all separated and spread into the Blues. The House of Birds took the South Blue, the House of Dogs took the West, another house took the north, and one house opted to stay in the Grand Line. The East Blue was abandoned due to the direction’s association with Kaido’s Devil Fruit.
Amaterasu spent the better part of her childhood in a new and strange land as her people struggled to rebuild their way of life. They arrived at an island called Sirius Crux, a mountainous and bitterly cold land, covered in snow for most of the year. Its geography was particularly inhospitable with tall cliffs, ice sheets, and turbulent seas. The only inlet to land was a small bay town where two extended families of Fishmen and Merfolk feuded without end.
Izanagi and the rest of the House of Dogs found shelter within the expansive network of caves within the mountainous terrain. Geothermal vents warmed the inside, making it habitable for various forms of flora and fauna. In the center of one of these cave systems was a large cavern with an opening at the top. A large hot spring lake stood in the center surrounded by verdant greenery. This was where the House of Dogs settled and made their village. The humans of the House of Dogs would often mingle and disguise themselves as Fisherman, Anglers, Shipwrights, and other various port town necessities.
In this new environment, it wasn’t hard for Amaterasu to sneak out under her father’s nose and explore the outside world. She played in snow, snuck into town, and made friends with kids her age for the first time in her life. The only problem was that some of her friends weren’t allowed to play with her friends from the other family and vice versa. Undeterred, Amaterasu devised a plan to help everyone get along. She started doing errands with her small group of friends, doing nice things and chores for both of their family members. In exchange, Amaterasu brought lots of new and exciting toys for her friends.
The animosity in the port town started to die down with the inhabitants starting to make a competition of outdoing each others’ acts of kindness toward each other. Sirius Crux slowly became a better place to live. The heads of the two major families were disturbed by the sudden change and sought out Amaterasu’s father. After he learned of her escapes into town, Izanagi placed Amaterasu under house arrest deep within the caverns where she couldn’t even glimpse the sun.
Spending countless days there, Amaterasu was one day awoken by the voices of her friends. They’d snuck in through the underground river system in the mountains. Telling her to hold her breath, they busted her out of captivity, though Amaterasu passed out after swallowing a mouthful of water in the dark, underground river tunnels. When she came to, she was in one of her friend’s homes with their mother looking over her. Appalled by her father’s treatment of her, she and some of the other parents in town arranged to have Amaterasu put on board a ship filled with Shinobi from the House of Dog, seeking to settle a new outpost in the East Blue.
It was only after they arrived in the East Blue did anyone realize that Amaterasu was not supposed to be there. Not recognizing her as the daughter of Izanagi, a kind family took her in as their own. The colonists from the House of Dogs eventually settled on a small volcanic island in the East Blue, which they called Mt. Makani. The volcano was long dormant, snowcapped, and surrounded on all sides by a sea of trees and lichen covered ground. Hot Springs riddled the island. It was lush, verdant, and populated by some very unique flora and fauna. The people from the House of Dogs settled and made a village in a bamboo forest on the coast. They disguised themselves as farmers and worked diligently on the land.
When Amaterasu’s family settled in, she wrote a letter to her father, explaining where she had gone and if he came looking for her, that she would run away again. Izanagi’s reply was fairly curt and demanding. In exchange for living apart from him, she was not allowed to leave the island and had to write him a letter every single day. He also wrote orders to the rest of the villagers to watch over her and report back to him if anything happened and stop her from leaving if she tried. Somewhat reluctantly, Amaterasu agreed to his terms.
The villagers, having discovered her true identity, began to treat her differently. Other children avoided her and all of the adults bowed down to pay their respects. It was lonely, but she enjoyed the distance and freedom from her father. She eventually earned the villagers’ trust by helping out around the village, making remedies, and caring for the people. She eventually became beloved by the villagers and was treated like part of the family as well as a guardian deity. Still, as the years passed by, Amaterasu couldn’t help but wonder what sort of world lay beyond the horizon on those bright blue seas.
