It hasn't been very long since Toki left his home, but he found himself far from home. He wandered without a true destination, and eventually found himself in the Blue seas. It took him some time to gain his sea legs, but by now the rocking of ships against the waves was natural to him. He stopped by some islands to resupply and work on some other ships as he traveled the world, but now it was time to explore in earnest.
The Sunstar Islands...Toki had made landfall on one of the island ports, and already he felt his fur stand on end. There was a strange, palpable tension in the air here that he couldn't quite understand. He didn't understand world politics or factions. He felt alien here. People stared at him like he was some kind of sideshow attraction. Were Minks really so uncommon? He stood straight and brushed at his ears before he put on a calm, stoic face to avoid seeming too meek and timid.
This particular island was forested, the scent of trees and plant life had a calming effect on Toki. Though the town was loud and bustling, crowded with so many people of different shapes and sizes, it was enough to make his head spin. Sure there were many Minks back home, some the size of small ships, but he felt familiar with them. Much of this was decidedly unfamiliar. He let out a sigh and decided it would be best to look around the town and mingle with the locals.
He started with the local tavern, since that's where information could be acquired from what he was told...that and there should be good food. He sat at a table and paid for a meal with the money he made working as a deckhand during his initial legs of the journey. The next step was figure out what he even wanted to ask about. A strong teacher who could help him find peace of mind and better his skills? Someone to work for who aligned with his ideals? He drank from the mug of apple cider brought to him. He liked this drink quite a lot. For now he would enjoy his meal and worry about information gathering afterwards.
