Hey, folks!
We’re stopping by again to drop a few “Quality of Life” updates to a couple of our systems that should open up more options for players as a whole. These changes have been spurred by some of our past updates, so let’s get talking!
Relaxed Equipment Restrictions
Back in the early days of the X-Poinz system, Equipment was kept in check by the way that Fighting Styles “trickled down” in regards expenditure and Rebate. On top of that, further restrictions regarding FiSts have been lifted with prior system changes to stacking Aspects. So, we’re loosening the belt on Equipment to make it more accessible for generalists and to give Equipment-focused characters more leeway, as such:
A character’s maximum available Equipment Rank is now determined by their Total Class, rather than the Class of their FiSts, which means that a character with 1,500 XPz can now have Equipment up to a maximum of Rank 4 without needing to have a “C” Class FiSt! Furthermore, here’s a forecast of these maximum limits, because those are being adjusted slightly to give a more substantial track!
At “E”, the maximum Equipment Rank available is 2. This will increase by one every Class increase, to Rank 4 at “C”. This is functionally the same as it is now. However, from “B” to “S”, the difference between Classes increases by two whole Ranks, putting Rank 10 Equipment available at “S” and above. At present, Rank 10 is being imparted as the absolute limit, though there is still room for this to change in future, as with most things.
Better Diversity: Aspects & Advancements
A while back we introduced Advancements to Fighting Styles, including Passive Qualities, which has greatly opened up the variety and potential of Fighting Styles. Another option we provided was to allow additional Aspects to be taken instead as a form of Advancement, so we’re coming around to deliver greater versatility by opening up those very same Passive Qualities as default options when upgrading Fighting Styles! That’s right: When you’re upgrading a Fighting Style’s Class, you can select from either an Aspect or a Passive Quality!
