Personality
We Will Rock You!!
Thalia at her core lives to entertain people and give them a show. As a result, she can often come across as too forceful and overconfident in herself. But for her, being seen like that is a good thing. This chick loves to act unashamedly like a pretentious diva and acts over the top when performing. Her presence commands attention and one can expect her to always fight for the spotlight whenever possible.
If You Just Smile~
Following this pattern of confidence, Thalia also has an extreme amount of optimism in herself and her abilities. She faces hardships and challenges with a smile and fierce attitude that doesn't take no for an answer. Her outlook on life is also quite positive, always trying to see things on the bright side. However, she is not so naive to believe nothing can go wrong and is willing to take that in account when dealing with a situation.
Good Vibrations~
One thing about Thalia is how much she loves to meet other people (mainly so she can convince them to become her fans). Her confidence and charisma can be hit or miss though, as some enjoy her zany personality while others can be turned off by it. Regardless of what others think of her, the rocker chick will almost always want to have a conversation with someone if they interest her enough. She's also not afraid to be honest about her opinions and can sometimes come across as rude.
Smells Like Teen Spirit!?
The musical maniac doesn't exactly have the best track record when it comes to staying in line. Because she's an overzealous, pretentious, bold and fierce entertainer, she also quite likes to get herself engaged in confrontations for no reason other than because it's fun and gives people a show. This carefree attitude about violence gets her in trouble since she never takes it seriously. In fact, she doesn't take much of anything seriously other than her craft. A byproduct of wishing to entertain everyone is that she also makes joke on everyone else's expense and doesn't stop to consider whether or not the humor is in poor taste. Consequently, this leaves her with a bit of apathy for other people's problems.
Appearance
The Body
- The first striking feature you'll notice when looking at Thalia is her sharply styled hair. Cut in a rather unconventional way, the woman's purple bangs are swept to the side then spiked upward while the locks on the side of her head fall down in loose curls. The rest of her hair in the back is then tied up in an unkempt ponytail.
In terms of body shape, Thalia's resembles more of a pear, with the top portion of her physique favoring a slimmer constitution while the bottom half expands to a more voluptuous shape. Her skin is of an olive complexion but leans slightly darker than the conventional definition.
The features of her face are a balance of sharp and round shapes, comprising of her yellow oval eyes that dominate most of the visage while her arched brows and pointed nose accent the rest of her portrait. Under her left eye she has three dermal piercings painted a deep violet to match her hair. Under her right eye are three green triangular shaped clown tears tattooed in a row.
The Wardrobe
- Because of Thalia's penchant for costume changes, she is rarely ever seen wearing a standard outfit. Thus any attempt to describe her attire would be virtually impossible and utterly pointless. With that being said, the diva does have certain articles she wears more often than others. Like any true rockstar, she has an obsession with shiny ornamentation and decorations such as glitter, studded rhinestones, jewelry, belts and other shiny things.
Her preferred length for any article is one that makes as much use of her body as possible. Evidently this means she is seldom seen in anything remotely skimpy and tends to don clothes that cover up her body rather than show it off. The most common element in all of Thalia's outfits no matter the style is the colour. As a fan of aesthetic appeal, the musician idolizes style above all else and lives to dazzle her audience. To sum it up, if one were to guess Thalia from a crowd of strangers, the best bet would be to look for the one sporting a vomit of rainbows.
Traits
You Make Me Wanna Shout!!
Human Starter Trait #1
-As a vocalist, Thalia has trained her voice beyond what most people would consider normal. Through years of covering songs of different genres and technique, she can adjust her voice in virtually any manner she wishes. From high to low, soft to loud, gentle to harsh, she can speak and sing in any matter she wishes that suits her.
Fast Fingers
Human Starter Trait #2
-As a multi instrumentalist, Thalia has also trained her hands to work with every instrument in her band's repertoire. Because of her years in playing with such devices, the rocker chick has developed an insane dexterity with her hands capable of treating her tools with delicate grace or lightning fast control.
Delayed Human
Free, Devil Fruit Trait
-Eating the Oku Oku no Mi gave Thalia a quirk fitting of the ability. As a Delayed Human, she is able to stall and delay certain stimuli that affects her senses. For example, if one were to punch her, she could simply hold off experiencing the pain until a more comfortable time. As a quirk, this trait also manifests unconsciously in everyday situations such as when she laughs long after a joke is told.
Fighting Styles
Oku Oku no Mi ("Delay Delay Fruit" ): +200 XPZ
Class E, 0 XPZ
Focus - Paramecia Devil Fruit, Delay Effects
-Thalia is by no means a trained fighter and her style heavily relies on the usage of her fruit to get anything done. Despite her lack of expertise, she can be incredibly volatile and unpredictable for any opponent. Because her ability is based all around timing, she typically sets up her attacks in advance and will usually approach the enemy when she is ready to unleash the offensive.
On some occasions she can act on the fly and go in without any setup, relying instead on unadulterated aggression and the fact she can set aside the pain for later. Because she can avoid so many consequences of hardcore combat, Thalia tends to fight with reckless abandon which makes her all the more dangerous if one lacks a proper defense.
Techniques:
- Feedback (R1): 50 XPZ (Free)
- Thalia sets a timer then repeatedly plays sounds on an instrument for a prolonged set of time. Once the timer is up, she then unleashes all the delayed sound in a single burst. - Running Reverb (R1): 50 XPZ (Free)
- Thalia charges this move by setting a timer on her legs then running at full speed. However, the delay effect keeps her in place until it expires. Once the timer is up, all stored momentum is released and she is immediately thrust in whatever direction she is facing. - Crank Up! (R1): 50 XPZ
- First Thalia sets a timer at her neck then screams as loud and long as she can. No sound will exit her mouth during the duration of the timer but when the effect wears off, all accumulated sound bursts out in one sonic explosion.
Background
Relationships:
- Former Drummer: H.P. Bonham "The Heart" - One of Thalia's best friends she grew up with on Sabaody. Her former 2nd in command who's somehow more of a violent jackass than her. Constantly vies to be Thalia's equal but is always outshined. Traits include: Kind, confident, loud, critical
- Former Bassist: McCartney Kaye Jean "The Vibes" - One of Thalia's best friends she grew up with on Sabaody. The mama bear of the group who kept to herself in the corner until someone needed to take control. Traits include: Quiet, protective, calm, dry

Birthplace: Sabaody Archipelago, Grand Line
Character Goals: Become a world famous musician just like Soul King Brook! Spread the music to the people, dude! Let the masses hear my excellent sound, yeeeaaaaah!!
History: Thalia was born in a local district of Sabaody Park to two owners of a circus. The first couple years were uneventful as her parents spent as much time as they could raising the little girl. Unfortunately, her father was caught up during a conflict between two pirate crews lurking around the Archipelago and the man lost his life. After her dad's passing, Thalia's mother asked her business partner, Valerie, to move in to help raise her daughter.
For much of her early childhood from then on, Thalia was taught how to be a circus act. She practiced the routines and the dance numbers. She learned how to juggle, tightrope, swallow swords, you name it. But the life of a circus act was unappealing and empty for the young girl. Everything felt so dull for the girl until her mother's partner Valerie - who she considered a second mom - introduced her to music. Little by little, the freakshow became more infatuated with the arts and fell in love with the idea of becoming a musician.
Of course, her journey to stardom did not start off easy. One day, Thalia confessed to her mother that she wished to pursue music as a career and was instantly berated for wanting to kill the family business. As punishment, the matriarch tattooed three clown tears on her face to forever brand her as the circus' property. Overwhelmed by this betrayal, Thalia escaped to her adoptive mother Valerie who encouraged her to live the dream she wanted. She left Thalia with her own guitar and sent the girl on her way into the streets of Sabaody.
For the following months, life was an utter hell. Without any support, Thalia was forced to play every day for money just so she could afford to eat. The homeless, penniless teenager barely scraped by every single day and on some she was mugged by local thugs who thought the little girl an easy target. The abuse continued so often that Thalia taught herself how to fight against these punks by using her guitar and agility. Eventually she was able to stand up to these vermin and was left alone for a time. But of course this only led to the thugs choosing fresh targets to pick on.
One day, Thalia witnessed her old enemies ambushing a pair of children in the alley. Enraged by their actions, she attacked the group alone, sustaining damages to herself and breaking her guitar in the process. Regardless, the girl selflessly carried the two kids on her back and took them to the nearest hospital where they could recover. However, instead of waiting for them to wake up, she rushed over to Valerie to see if anything could be done with her broken instrument.
Thalia snuck into the amusement park and eventually made her way to Valerie's trailer. When the girl entered she was welcomed with the warmest of kisses and hugs. The two discussed at length about the girl's experiences on the streets and it became clear to Val that the musical path was the right choice for her foster daughter all along. Regarding the issue of the guitar though, the damages were too great to repair. But being the gracious mother she was, Valerie graciously donated her savings to help buy the girl a brand new instrument of a higher quality. Thalia expressed her gratitude a million times before leaving for the store.
But the path to fame never comes easy. Before she was able to reach the music shop, Thalia was ambushed by the thugs who saw her defenseless and vulnerable. The group mugged her of all her money and left her on the street to die had it not been for a few good people who recognized her as the street musician. The girl spent several days recovering at the hospital plotting her revenge but more importantly thinking of a way to leave the island. The rate of violence on Sabaody was ridiculous and she did not expect to find success living here for the rest of her life.
Luckily for her, she was not the only one resting at the hospital that day. The two children she had saved days earlier approached her with a plan to ambush the thugs at their own hideout and steal the money for themselves so they could leave the island. Thalia, amused at the poetry of this vengeance, wholeheartedly agreed and made an alliance with the two younguns. The little boy she rescued went by H.P. Bonham; and the little girl went by McCartney Kaye Jean. Once fully recovered the three misfits left for Thalia's former circus home to stock up on supplies. The trio snuck onto the premises and acquired gunpowder, whips, fire-breathing oil, and swords.
At night, the party followed one of the thugs to their lair and waited until they fell asleep. Once the time was optimal, they sprang into action and unleashed their chaos into the open. Thalia ignited a gunpowder bomb into the center of the hideout, sending burning chunks of wood everywhere. Bonham grabbed two swords and doused them in oil before lighting them ablaze and slicing anyone who dared approach him. Kaye Jean stood at the side and whipped all the thugs who attempted to retaliate their advances. As the hideout burned, the thugs began to realize their losses and retreated into the city, waking up the rest of the locals. Thalia took this moment to rush in and retrieve all the beri that was left from her mugging. Bonham and Kaye Jean swept in and stole a few valuables for themselves while they were at it.
As the trio made their triumphant escape, they soon realized the extent of their vengeful stunt. The fires from Thalia's bomb and Bonham's swords had spread through the district and began burning several apartment buildings and shops nearby. One of the Yarukiman trees even caught fire and would have burned down if not for the quick response from the Marines and fire fighters. Seeing that they had caused far more damage than anticipated, the trio rushed to Valerie's trailer, hoping Thalia's mother would keep her safe.
Just as expected, Val had no issue with harboring the three little arsonists and actually felt amused that these kids had the guts to stand up to their bullies. However, the woman knew this was no ordinary prank they pulled and decided the best course of action would be to keep them hidden until she could find a way for them to leave the archipelago. Valerie contacted one of her acquaintances for assistance who agreed on the terms that all three had to work for their musical act. A short discussion among the band of misfits was all it took for the pair to be persuaded. Any life outside Sabaody was a better life for them.
The contact's ship would arrive in one month's time. In preparation for their journey, Valerie brought instruments for the trio. During their time together, Thalia used every day she had to teach Bonham and Kaye Jean the basics. There was resistance at first when the task appeared difficult. But Thalia never gave up helping her friends learn the rhythm and groove of music. Four weeks later and the day the trio were scheduled to leave, Valerie walked in on the band jamming out to their heart's content. The mother had never felt so proud in her life.
The kids traveled under the cover of night to reach the shore without anyone spotting them. During their time in hiding, the thugs had reported the old raid to the Marines and local witnesses could attest that the mastermind behind it all was Thalia herself. As a result, the little rockstar found herself assigned with a minor bounty of 1,921,000 Beri. Truth be told, she just felt smug that her face was plastered everywhere for the world to see. As the band boarded the ship, Thalia took one last look at Sabaody Archipelago and swore to return as a true musician.
For the next few years, the trio toured the world with Valerie's associate. They were only rookies compared to the big bands that played on the traveling ship. To prove themselves, the three were allowed to open every concert but were typically booed off stage for being too rowdy. The rejection never failed to leave a sting on the crew but it only made their ambitions that much stronger. Thalia, Bonham and Kaye Jean practiced nonstop during those years, copying the moves that dazzled, dressing to impress, they used whatever they could to improve their image. Even so, nothing ever seemed to be enough for the Associate's tastes.
Along their journey the band picked up a peculiar character to join their ensemble, an Octopus Fishman named Jagger who had been singing lovely folk songs of tenderness, love and peace between all races. Though his message of unity was lost on the rebellious youngsters, they saw his raw skill on the keyboards and brought him board to elevate their sound.
Despite how much the band played together and meshed as a family, Thalia grew frustrated with the lack of growth they had over the years. She was having second thoughts about the endeavor to become a musician when about two years ago, a rockstar known as "SOUL KING" appeared to the world. Thalia could hardly believe it at first; a musician so renowned and adored that the whole planet could hear them? She thought the dream was impossible but here was living proof it could be done. The girl could dream bigger than ever now. No longer did she need to be satisfied with just one lukewarm crowd. She could be the next hit sensation everyone was talking about!!
But after consulting with the others, the band came to a divide. Rather than join her, the group felt they could keep their mild success at a steady rate than risk it all by going off alone as an independent band. Thalia couldn't believe the betrayal especially from her own childhood friends. After everything they'd been through she expected more ambition out of them. Disgusted with the low achieving aspirations of her old bandmates, she departed off to the great sea by herself, hoping to become a bigger name out there than even the mighty Soul King. She left the Associate's ship, headed off on her own and with whatever money she earned working for the troupe bought a small ship and embarked on the Grand Line. Along the way, she encountered one wicked soul crazy enough to match her talent, a Longarm cyborg who went by the fittingly appropriate epithet, "The Metal". For the last two years they have done nothing but tour Paradise, hoping to show off their talents. And with Thalia at the helm of their endeavors, they don't look to stop any time soon.
