Strolling down the beach, Ikra cast her gaze out to the misty horizon where waves crashed in the distance. The raven haired beauty walked barefoot to feel the sand shift and settle underfoot. She had her long black hair tied back in a low ponytail. A long bang hung down and fluttered lazily in the breeze. In her hair, she wore a freshly picked flower. For clothing, she wore a simple pink sundress that danced around her legs as she strolled along. The only thing amiss about her appearance were the two large horns that jutted out from her forehead and her elongated ears.
For Ikra’s devoted followers, her otherworldly appearance only served to charm them further and enhance her natural beauty. Ikra took a deep breath and continued her walk, allowing the waves to lap at her feet gently. Speaking of her followers, she had managed to leave them behind for a brief moment of privacy. Ikra didn’t get them often, and to be perfectly honest, she didn’t like being alone for very long. However, a moment here or there of being alone helped her collect her thoughts.
It had been several years since she’d arrived on this island. While the inhabitants had treated her wonderfully, nothing on this island had even remotely jogged her memory. In truth, Ikra couldn’t recall a thing about her life before arriving here. She’d washed up on the shore in a massive seashell. She’d tried many different things to recover her memories, but all of them had been unsuccessful. That empty space in her memories left Ikra with an intense aching feeling and an incredible wanderlust.
She wanted to leave. She wanted to know who she was. But, those who had taken her in were awfully protective of her. And their love… it had been enough, for a time, at least. But as time passed, that aching feeling and her wanderlust grew that much more. She just hated to see their worried faces. Ikra let out a wistful sigh and paused, looking down the beach.
“Hm?”
All of these thoughts flew out of Ikra’s mind when she spotted something washed up just a little way down the shore. She took a step or two closer to get a better look. It wasn’t a something! It was a someone! Without a second thought, Ikra ran down the beach and hurried to pull them from the water. It reminded her in an odd way of her own arrival here, but she didn’t have time to linger on that thought for very long.
Heaving and dragging the person ashore, Ikra first rolled them onto their side to make sure that they were both breathing and alive.
“Hello? Are you alright? Can you hear me? Oh dear…”
