Sarcastic
The world is not a nice place, why not treat the wounds it gives you with a bit of humor? Even in the most serious of situations, when her life is on the line, she would crack a joke or make a snarky remark about someone or something. She has no qualms about mocking other people even if it may offend them, all for the sake of entertaining herself.
Adventerous
Calypso was not given a proper surname. Only her adoptive grandmother gave her the name Calypso. There's no telling what her original name was to be. Clow is something she chose for herself, stolen from an adventure novel about a man who sailed the seven seas and used the stars to guide him. A book she still keeps on her person. She enjoys the idea of doing something new and exciting, sometimes without any other reason aside from that.
Cruel
Calypso is in no way at all, a nice woman. It isn't that she has no heart, she's very capable of showing mercy, but she did not become a pirate in order to save the world. If that were her goal, she would have been a marine. She became a pirate for the freedom that comes with the occupation. She could kill someone without thinking twice but wouldn't go out of her way to burn an entire village unless it defied her of course.
Witty
Cunning. Crafty. Witty. Calypso is smart and enjoys getting into the mind of her enemies, sometimes that is the only way she can claim victory. By reading someone like a book. She's pretty good at picking someone apart with her silver tongue, arguably better with that than she is with her silver blade.
Fatalist
Despite all the terrible things that have happened to her, she does not blame anyone but fate. She does not seek revenge against Stella Gaz, or wish her brother to be back to life. Everything that has ever happened to her, has happened for a reason. Every person she's ever met. Every person she's ever killed. Every person that's tried to kill her! Fate. Fate. FATE! That explains everything. Right?
Appearance
The first thing a person is going to notice about Clow Calypso is her fiery red hair. It curls and whips every which way, much like a flame. Messy and unkempt, it falls to the center of her back like a red lion's mane. The next thing a person might happen to notice is her eyes. Just as red as her hair, a burning scarlet. Having red hair and red eyes both is an oddity in nature, leading many to question her heritage. However, only one eye is visible, the other is covered by a black patch for unknown reasons. She has porcelain skin, appearing untouched by the sun despite her days on the sea and her thin lips are almost always painted purple.
She is a well-endowed pirate captain and her apparel reflects that. Whether it is true or not, she dresses like a successful pillager, wearing the finest leather coat money can buy and expensive jewelry. Underneath the coat is often a bra of sorts, paired with a fashionable corset and a belt that holds an assortment of much-needed weapons. A beaded shawl forms a skirt around her waist and the leather from her jacket is seen again in thigh-high heeled boots plated with steel.
Yet another defining trait of the woman already immune to blending in, is her conical witch's hat with roses embroidered throughout the piece. In no way shape or form does Clow Calypso believe herself to be a witch, but others view her as one, and thus, in a rather witty and comedic response to others' claims, she dons the stereotypical attire of her epithet, for what is a "Red Witch" without her hat?

Poison Immunity
Free Human Trait
Calypso was raised on an island of only trash, which is bound to build a person's immunity. Truth be told, half the food she's ever eaten has been poison in one form or another. That alone has made her supernaturally resistant to this method of killing, forcing foes to try another way.
Telescope Eye
Free Human Trait
Having one eye can be seen as a disadvantage for several people, but it is very true that when you lose one sense, you hone the others to replace it. Despite only having one eye, her vision is far from impaired. Calypso's singular eye can see from incredible distances, allowing her to see things even before they see her!
Inhuman Speed
Free Human Trait
For a short duration, Calypso had no choice but to steal from others in order to survive. Now, she has a lot of choices, she just chooses to steal for fun. Those hard times taught her to be quick on her feet in order to get away safely.
Nesting Human
Devil Fruit Trait
Calypso ate the Nesu Nesu no Mi, a Paramecia-type Fruit that allows her to create smaller duplicates of an object, within that object. It also applies to her own body, allowing her to have miniature versions of herself akin to Russian nesting dolls.

Background
}Someplace in the endless blue, there is an island talked about in children's stories. A place where wishes and dreams come true, all by catching a star. Meteor showers come as common as rain, and you can guess that many wishes are granted as the hopeful hands reach out for glory. It would be nice if such a place truly existed, but the world is cruel and sometimes the star you're wishing upon is nothing more than trash falling from the sky.
Stella Gaz. It is a place where kingdoms catapult their trash, a hundred-mile wasteland of human garbage. A junkyard where anything unwanted is eventually abandoned. Most of the residents here were dropped off as babies, forced to live amongst the rubble and survive off of what little they had. Calypso and her brother Arche were no exceptions. The pair of red-headed twins were dropped off by a mysterious young couple who had no interest in the family life and instead taken in by an old crone who watched over the dump and ensured the safety of its children.
Lyra was her name. A woman who had come to this island of her own volition in hopes that the rumors were true, that if she could manage to witness this meteor shower... then catch a star, all her worries and troubles would fade into the distance. She learned from that mistake. A mistake that would cause her to be stuck in this dump for the rest of her life. Though it was a sad fate for many, Lyra made the most of it by raising the children that washed ashore.
It was under Lyra's protection that Calypso and Arche received their names and were taught all the old woman knew of the world. The twins were kept safe from the false wishes and the ruffian beliefs of Stella Gaz. Outside of that makeshift hut, there were strange customs unheard of by the rest of the world. While an outsider like Lyra would view the island as dirty and disgraceful, seeing those who lived on it as nothing more than vagabonds, those vagabonds believed that one person's trash was their treasure and welcomed with open arms anyone's so-called gift that they might drop off. However, taking from the island... even something as minuscule as a nail or a banana peel was punishable by death.
Calypso and Arche were raised with several others their age but they always depended on one another. As the twins grew older, curiosity got the best of them and they began to explore the place they were abandoned, traveling far from the comfort of Lyra's hut. On this little quest of theirs, they met incredible people and saw many things including but were blissfully unaware of the island's most important rule. You can leave whatever you want, but never take what does not belong to you. In a hungry panic, Arche grabbed a fallen fruit from a nearby tree, the fattest, tastiest, yet strangest looking one. Eager to show Calypso, he allowed her to have the first bite and that was the first chain in a terrible link of events.
"WHAT DID YOU TWO BRATS DO WITH MY STAR!" A farmer appeared from behind a hunk of junk, it was a pathetic farm he ruled but there was hardly any soil within Stella Gaz. A one tree farm was impressive.
"Your star?" Arche asked, almost concerned for the man's well-being.
"THE ONE SHE'S E-EATING! THAT WAS FOR ME!" He dramatically pointed at the curly-haired girl, whose eyes widened with the accusation. Still, she ate every foul bite of that fruit this lunatic called a star. Despite having the urge to puke her guts out while doing so! She was far too proud for that.
"What star." She hmphed, crossing her arms while trying to hold back that terrible taste in her mouth.
"Don't play games with me stupid! Don't you two know the rule! The sacred rule! The one law of this lawless land!" He shook a cane as if to reprimand them, but no matter what he said, the children looked clueless. "You can leave anything you'd like, but you will take nothing from this island!" He huffed and he puffed, it was a lot of words for an elder to scream in such a short amount of time.
Calypso stared at the farmer. "But we haven't left the island, so we took nothing from it."
"Huh!?! Well I'd be-" He rubbed his chin, thinking about the little girl's philosophy.
"Well, I'm glad we could clear that up!" The little boy chuckled, rubbing the back of his head as he slowly backed away, motioning for his sister to do the same.
"No! I need COMPENSATION!!!" The man whistled and within seconds dogs surrounded the twins. "That star was gonna get me a better life! I could have sold it to the king! He would have paid me handsomely, I'd never have to farm again!! But you two... you two RUINED that for me! I'll take the boy... and girl.. if you ever leave the island, he'll suffer the sentence you should have had! DEATH!! Not to mention... now that you're a star swallower. Hehe, well the king won't like that."
For years those words haunted her, along with a strange new power that never allowed her to forget the incident. Her newfound power deemed her a "star swallower" and a "witch" within Stella Gaz, despite her best efforts to only use them for good. While the outside world called these powers Devil Fruits, on the island of trash and treasure it was witchcraft and sorcery, she managed to hide for as long as she could but it wasn't long before she was found and exiled for her supposed gift. Though the king possessed magic of his own, he ensured the island that his was good magic! While anyone else's had to be evil. The next thing Calypso knew, a ship docked and she was gone the very next day.
Forced to survive in the slums of an unknown city, Calypso blamed fate for the death of her brother, an event she assumed had taken place the minute she left, just as the old man had promised. Despite the trauma that came with all this, Calypso holds her time at Stella Gaz close to her heart and mocks the lessons fate taught her by teaching them to her enemies. If the world was to believe she was a witch, no matter her actions, then she would become one.
