Sofie walks through life as if she’s barely aware of what is happening around her. She’s always dreaming up her next meal, and her head always seems up in the clouds. Sofie has a tendency to wander into odd situations and places just because she ambles around without so much as a care as to where she’s going or what she’s doing.
Oblivious but Alert
Despite how out of it Sofie seems, she’s always on alert for danger, which can shock or baffle the uninformed. Her survival senses are tuned up to eleven because that’s just how she’s always lived her life. On the other extreme, her social sensibilities are extremely blunted. She’s totally hopeless at reading people. She’s dense as a brick and totally oblivious to matters of the heart. She only know what she feels.
Affectionate Aficionado
Overwhelmingly clingy and affectionate to her friends, it isn’t hard to get on Sofie’s good side. The fastest way to her heart is through her stomach. Feed her once and she’ll follow you home like a stray cat. She adores food. She can talk for hours about food. How to make it, where to source it, and so forth. She loves food, and the people who make it.

When Sofie has something or someone to hunt, her entire demeanor shifts from hapless dreamer to laser focused on her prey. Her face flushes a bright red. She does everything in her power to manipulate the flavor of the meat into what she wants to eat. Two soft, fluffy snow leopard ears are atop her head, which are somehow even softer than her hair. Her eyes are a soft grey like a cloudy sky, always dreamy and focused off on the horizon. She has a luxurious snow leopard tail, which she keeps immaculately groomed.
For clothing, Sofie has a vast and expansive wardrobe. She has a new outfit for every occasion, mostly due to the immense wealth of suitors that she leads on unknowingly. The outfits always accentuate her curves and hug her form tightly. She has some outfits dedicated to cooking, and some dedicated to hunting, but all look wonderful on her.

}Raised in a foster home in Dressrosa run by a woman named Mama Mia, Sofie’s childhood was one of hunger and hardship. Mama Mia forced the kids in her care to work to eat. The work, in particular, involved stealing. If you didn’t work, you didn’t eat. Sofie had no talent for thievery, so she starved. Her standards for food were also pretty high, so she wasn’t content scrounging for scraps or rifling through the garbage. Her picky eating habits put her on death’s door until one of her foster siblings took pity on her and brought her something to eat that he’d hunted himself.
Delighted, Sofie begged her newfound favorite person to bring her more fresh meat and vegetables. She practically glued herself to him, hanging off his limbs and back like dead weight. He eventually agreed on the condition that he’d teach her how to hunt, so she didn’t always come crying to him for food. Sofie happily agreed. Hunting for food became one of her favorite pastimes, only beaten out by cooking what she hunted for her brother.
On her sixteenth birthday, Zhan, her brother, brought her a special gift. It was apparently an extremely rare and valuable fruit to use in her cooking. Sofie took one bite to sample the taste and get ideas for what she could put it in, but then immediately spat it back out. The taste was revolting and coated her mouth in a thick, rancid-tasting slime. Her brother was indignant that she spat out his gift and took a bite of the fruit to prove her wrong. She was not wrong.
It turned out that the fruit had been a Devil Fruit. It gave Sofie unique abilities in exchange for an inability to swim, which the pair of them discovered when one of their other siblings pushed Sofie into a pond and she didn’t come back up. Zhan had to save a drowned Sofie and fussed at the other kids for pulling that prank. Sofie was fine after a minute of Zhan pumping the water from her lungs.
When Sofie turned eighteen, Mama Mia had had enough of Sofie’s lounging about the house and kicked her out onto the streets to fend for herself. Fortunately, fending for herself was exactly what she had been doing for the vast majority of her stay in Mama Mia’s household. She wasn’t too bothered. She caught a ferry off Dressrosa at no cost thanks to the ferry captain feeling lucky.
From there, Sofie bounced around from island to island. She never wanted for clothes or food because she had an endless line of suitors attempting to wed her. One of them was even successful! Shortly after leaving Dressrosa, an affluent man proposed to Sofie. Sofie, being totally oblivious to the meaning behind the gesture, agreed to it blithely. They were swiftly married. On their wedding night, Sofie transformed partially into latex while she slept, making her husband think that she had died.
The funeral was held that morning with a tearful household and heartbroken husband. Sofie awoke buried alive that evening. She escaped by transforming and seeping up through the ground, returning to her house. Sofie then unwittingly haunted the estate for several nights, being sighted by her husband and several of the household staff. Eventually, her husband hired an exorcist who told her that she needed to leave. She shrugged and simply obeyed, heading out that very morning for a different island. This all took place within the span of two weeks.
Years passed, and Sofie drifted about from place to place in much the same manner. She honed her culinary skills, studying wherever she went and trying out the local cuisines. She pretty much just let her stomach guide her. Sofie just couldn’t get enough food. She wanted to try all of it, hunt exotic meats, cook wonderful dishes, and taste all the world had to offer.
