-- Regulus M. Scarlemagne//Mayhem Vs. Order-
It had been a couple of months since the incident that took Regulus’s captain and friend’s life. The young mink-human hybrid had managed to survive the Marine attack after his captain tossed him overboard, and he’d floated off to an unknown island on a piece of debris from his former crew’s ship. On that unknown island, Regulus made himself a little raft so that he could hopefully manevours himself to Winchester Island. Fortunately, luck was on Regulus’s side, and after figuring out his former location, he had managed to successfully navigate to Winchester Island with minor difficulty. A gentle breeze carried him on his small raft to the docks of West Winchester, as a warm sun blared down his bronze skin. Regulus used his sword, Akuma no jūnin, as a makeshift paddle to direct his little raft to the beach. After beaching the raft, Regulus tore down the sail, and dragged under the docks to hide it from other Pirates. Then with his raft hid, Regulus grabbed his blade and made his way to a nearby tavern within the terrible town of West Winchester.
Winchester was an island eternally locked in conflict. An age-old battle between Marines and Pirates had consume the island for years, and a perfect place for someone looking to recruit other pirates. The perpetual struggle allowed potential pirate Captains to show off their strength and impress other pirates, on the other hand, Captains can seek out potential crewmates and test their strength. It was literally the perfect environment for Regulus to search for crewmates and to test his own metal, something he had been dying to do for the past couple of years. This desire to prove himself only increased after his captain’s death, and his former crew’s destruction.
Regulus decided that before he was to engage in the never-ending battle of Marines and Pirates, that it would have been a good idea to find a place to get some drink and food so that he could reenergize. While he was able to find himself some food and water on the island that he had formerly been stranded on, those supplies eventually were completely consumed half-way through his voyage. For that reason, Regulus was somewhat famished from his travels, and thusly, hunted throughout the streets for something to eat. Once he found a tavern, Regulus took a seat at the bar, and quickly demanded for some rum and meat to eat. The bartender eventually came back after taking his order, with some food and rum, and Regulus simply ate while listening to the various conversations that occurred within the rowdy tavern. There were multiple pirates talking about their battles with Marines, recruiting other pirates, or whispering about various rumors that dotted the town.
Then without warning, there was a loud boom from outside, and someone shouted “MARINES” as the smell of smoke became heavy, Regulus readied his blade, and rushed outside. A group of Marines started to flood the town; pirates came pouring out onto the streets to meet the tide of Marines as fire consumed a nearby building. A terrible grin inched its way onto Regulus’s lips, as he rushed out into the crowd.
