A certain dull monotony surrounded Sedna’s days like a haze. It blunted awareness. It made time slip along in the blink of an eye. In order to avoid accidentally killing herself with thirst or starvation, Sedna had put into practice a routine. She lapsed occasionally, but she was always chewed out about it by the small friend group of fellow Yellowbacks that she’d managed to attain - an old crotchety lot. As it happened, it appeared like she’d missed a day or two of self care. Again. She sighed to herself, running a hand through her hair and shaking herself out of her ennui induced torpor. She was certainly going to hear it from her friends at morning brunch.
Standing up and stretching her stiff limbs, Sedna glanced around her small hovel. It wasn’t anything glamorous. It amounted to a small shack equipped with a small kitchenette and bathroom. In the corner that she was standing in, a small pool had been dug into the floor, filled with seawater, which was piped in. It was enough for her to submerge herself, which suited her just as well. Stepping out, she flicked a few errant drops of water back into the pool and squeezed her hair somewhat dry.
“Hm… what to wear…”
Sedna meandered over to her closet and examined the clothes inside. She mostly had kimonos, remnants of her time in Wano. She picked a light lavender one with floral patterns, tugging it over her shoulders lazily. She preferred it this way, having her shoulders exposed. Sliding the door closed, Sedna turned and opened the door to the outside, squinting as the bright morning light stabbed at her eye.
“Goodness, it’s bright out today…”
Putting a hand up to shield her face, she walked leisurely down the street toward the little restaurant that she and her friend group always had brunch at. It was a pleasant enough morning. The air had a crisp chill to it that further served to rouse Sedna from her languid state. It felt like something would change today. Perhaps. Though, frankly, that was just her intuition. As she neared the little cafe, Sedna lifted a hand in a lazy, careless wave.
“Good morning gentlemen.”
