Light cascades across level snow. It is searching and seeking to fill its tiny pockets with comfort. The howling wind reminds it though that it is in charge and deposits fresh powder on its mark, the Frost Kingdom. This place is a frozen island with one major town, a castle bustling with commoners and nobles alike. They are men and women with strong hearts and minds. When dawn breaks on its clean city streets they are still asleep and too tired to notice this changing.Fennec
This silence falters with the sound wing beats. A sizable white gull descends from the clouds in wearing a prim, white cap and satchel across its frame. Its pushes its beak deep into its bag and retrieves a stamped notice. The creature's body hurtles towards the ground now. The gull bypasses street lamps, dogs, and snow banks. The bird only slows down to toss this one paper into a cottage mail box high upon the castle's hill before leaving.
A loud "Thwap!" rings out as the box's shutter closes. It is loud enough to carry on into the house's front door where a loud bell rings. This sound travels further past a large desk and chair. There is also a wall behind this it must contend with. One that showcases shiny rifles poised between glass doors and metal rungs. There is an open door too that stands tall yet deafens the sound with its pine bearing. The vibrations must pass through a grand kitchen. This is a place with a brick stove, a chopping counter, and a seating table with three more chairs. Its tiled black and white lacquer insists some elegance. The sound finally reaches the edge of the home where three bedrooms align the rear wall. The first and second reman silent, but the conveys movement.
A woman with heavy footsteps bolts out the door of her room in big black boots. She snaps to attention thrusting a black tank top over her head and rushes out the door with a pair of rugged jeans. Her breathes are hefty and seem to pull the air from the room. She manages to make it to the front door though and charges out it while mussing her hair in a panic.
"It has arrived!" She bellowed while ignoring the peal of her own voice. She should have spotted her own racket and lowered her tone, yet she was too happy to care.
She delved into the mailbox and shuttered rest of the cosmos. Her eyes fell upon the words, "NOTICE: Marine may return to active duty. Report to the port for further instructions."
The woman squealed causing the air to vibrate. It was then a young boy in a winter coat passed by her. He craned his head up to the heavens shouting, "What in the world is wrong MS. AVAST?"
The wind hurled his voice up and the woman rubbed her lobule. She ascertained noise below her although concern suffused her face. Her legs bowed and the enormous girth of a dame sank to his field of vision. Two azure globes followed the child. The woman's lips then formed aperture that announced, "I, Anna, am becoming a marine again!"
After her proclamation, the world tilted as she rose again. Anna proceeded with thunderous steps down a set of cobblestone stairs. Her footfalls headed for the town exit, but with such force everyone knew it was morning. The healthiest giant in town was out for a morning stroll. She wandered around a few buildings and smiled at how cute they were. Some almost stopped short of her titanic hips. It was so sad since she had enough trouble as it was visiting with citizens.
Blustering winds carried on and when snow topped her blue crown she realized she had no winter gear. The woman shrugged though and thought, "I am so gargantuan a few minutes in this cold should not harm me."
She proceeded to the harbor past the drawbridge to see a heavy banner and two long poles holding it up. Both stood 40' feet tall, which allowed her to read a proper message for once, and indicated, "PLEASE WAIT HERE. Your marine escort will arrive shortly, Anna Avast."
The way this was sounding the woman definitely thought of he father. That gentleman would pose her as a princess every chance he had. She sure wished for someone else to receive her here if she might be returning to duty.
"Crap!" she realized as she rested her hand under her chin, "I may be an officer, but I cannot always wear what I want!" Anna's body was on full show, well, not the entire thing. Her tank top covered her chest but let all who might come see her obliques and abdominal muscles from afar. They also had a view of her tree-like shoulder blades and forearms. Sometimes the behemoth form of a full blooded giant was too much. She prayed her stomach did not cause someone to believe she was a blimp. She had a high fat diet for the last forty years and had little in the way of true exercise for a giant.
She was fortunate her tank top read, "OCEAN PATROL" on the front of it and had a cute marine vessel chasing squids on it. The back was better though as it listed the word "MARINE" on it. Nobody would mess with her, right? This was almost akin to a nightmare she felt in her booming heart. Oh, wait, she had jeans and boots on too unless they tore on her. Pants often snapped at the seams for her at the worst times. Her legs were heavy pillars after all. They almost made her want to shuffle her feet when she doubled down and considered death was here for her.
