Astraea floated in her travel tank, watching the humans walk by her. Many of them stopped to ogle at her, which brought a bemused smile to her lips. In truth, she was ogling them as much as they ogled her. Humans were so fascinating. They all looked so different. Even their clothes differed, though the ones her host showed her tended to all wear something of the same style. Fancy, proper. She premused it was because they were royalty or some such similar case. After all, that was how it had been in the Ryugu Kingdom as well.
Swimming up to the top of her tank and stretching out her long body, Astraea cast her gaze over the docks - if you could really call it that. As her host, Sir Sebastian, had explained to her, this place was called the Fountain, and it was where many a noble came for entertainment in the West Blue. They did performances here quite often. Astraea was curious about these performances, but she also wanted to see the sort of humans that came to see them. She’d asked to be left out somewhere public so that she could people watch, and Sir Sebestian had obliged her. Courteous of him.
He had left her with an escort of his security guards, which he really didn’t need to do, but he had insisted. They had situated her tank by a central fountain in the plaza, far from the edges of the dock. Presumably, so her tank wouldn’t accidentally tip over and send her into the sea. She would have a difficult time getting back onto land herself. Very considerate. Resting her head in her arms, she looked down at her escort who looked up at her with their usual rigid expressions.
“How funny and odd. You’d think they’d be awed. Or show some expression instead of looking like cod.”
Perhaps it was her. Though many humans stared at her with keen interest, these humans had grown accustomed to her. Perhaps she needed to do something new to make their expressions change? Hm… Well, she certainly wasn’t above doing some parlor tricks. Humans came here to be entertained. Why not give them an opening act? Putting her hands together, she took a deep breath and began to glow with a pale purple light.
