Cold hard stone and cement, Ana town was not quite the most habitable place to live in. At least not at first glance. There was not much green to be had here. A few trees and grasses, but most of the city was build economical. Tall buildings to save space, all clustered together and often very uniform. One could tell that each section was build around the same time and with a plan as the buildings of that particular sector had the same standard look.
For someone like Rince who was used to more rural places or places where even the urban landscape had more green to them, this place of cement and brick seemed uninviting.
And yet when he looked at the people who lived here, the picture changed completely.
Maybe it was because many of them had been born here and didn't know any better or maybe there was something else that they liked about their homes, but just as in every other place, the people here seemed mostly content.
There were people going or coming from work, the ones that came from work were usually easy to spot as they were tired after a hard day, others went to buy their groceries while some just sat outside a small cafe and chatted with their friends.
There were nightbores arguing with each other about the right time to put their trash out for collection and a mild traffic jam.
So all pretty normal. If you could overlook the many local policemen that strolled through town. They looked rather unpleasant, but maybe something had happened recently and they were more allert now? Unlike the Marines they seemed less organized and also kept their uniform less clean and neat, but who was he to judge? If they were good at their job then that was not really of any importance.
Rince rummaged through his bag until he finally found the paper on which he had jotted down the information about his next target.
It definitelly had some advantages to be part of a network that could provide you with information, even if you had to pay good money for them. Rince was aware that as far as bounty hunting was involved, he wasn't the most sucessive person. He was scrawny, only 5'9'' feet tall and his bright pink hawaiian shirt with the green palms probably didn't help to make him look more competent. Rince would be the first one to agree that he wasn't. Despite having survived quite a lot of dangerous situations, he never got the feeling as if he had gotten out there on top.
But that's why he was here, wasn't he? To change.
It had taken him a long time to face his fears but now he had finally decided to move on and do better! That's why he had requested the Bounty Hunter Network to give him an assignment. Not a very dangerous one... there was no need to overwork himself, but something that would be a challenge but still possible with his skills? It wasn't like he was alone in this. His faithful companion, Bruce the haggis was with him. How helpful the little ball of fur would be was a different question, but if nothing else, the animal had courage – something the boy clearly lacked – so they made a good team.
Now about those pirates that according to his contact were about to arrive on Amino Island. They weren't the biggest of crews and only the Captain and his first mate had bounties. Not even big bounties at that, but they were still solid capture targets. And one couldn't forget their crew. Even if they did not have a bounty themselves, they would still put up a fight.
Soooo... how should he deal with this?
Rince read through the list of information as he made his way through the town, looking out for anything that would give him an idea on how he could best catch those troublemakers.
