Miu - 1
The ocean was truly a vast realm of boundless possibilities for even a fish connoisseur such as Miu had never feasted her eyes on such a marvelous creature. The grey kitten with a snow-white underbelly and paws suspected this to be a pufferfish. Coincidentally, the spherical fish, held within a fishing net, also had a smooth grey back and a pure-white underbelly, colors very similar to the feline’s coat of fur. It spasmed within the net, freshly caught from the shores and still living; the poor obese-looking fish might as well be a ball within a lacrosse stick.
“It’s… It’s so… chubby!” she gazed in awe with sparkling eyes at how cute this rotund fish looked.
Hmm… isn’t the poison of this fish supposed to be over a thousand times more potent than cyanide? Normally, I’d have to remove the skin and entrails; if it so much as contaminates the meat, then whoever eats it will be paralyzed.
But a true cat must never waste a fish.
“Well, time to eat you!” said the optimistc feline who gently blew a small puff of blue flames from her mouth, quickly setting the entire pufferfish ablaze, burning it alive.
Standing on her hind paws by the shores of Rondure Island, she held a meter-long shaft with a hoop on one end to support the net. She momentarily expressed a pensive look, reminded of the time when a bounty hunter with a scorpion-based Devil Fruit power injected venom into her, but for whatever reason, the venom didn’t seem to have worked. A poisonous arrow had scratched her, yet nothing happened.
“Hmm…,” Miu was curious and decided to claw out a slab of steaming, grilled meat from the burning fish and lower it into her little mouth. There was a tender, smooth texture to it. After chewing and swallowing, she didn’t feel anything. Had the poisoned kicked in, she ought to be paralyzed.
“That’s strange…, I thought this type of fish was supposed to be poisonous,” she was puzzled by the lack of inconvenience upon devouring of what was supposed to be deadly. But there was a strange taste in her mouth that didn’t belong to the meat itself. Was this the taste of poison? It was a taste that should have been off-putting to humans, but she rather liked it, adding a flavor to the otherwise bland meat.
Judging by the taste, this fish was indeed poisonous, yet the feline remained unaffected.
“One pufferfish should have enough poison to kill 30 adult humans. Maybe it doesn’t work on cats.” Miu mumbled to herself as it appeared that neither the toxins of a scorpion nor a pufferfish was effective on her.
“Oh well! More food for me!” the feline dismissed the mystery as she took the fish out of the net, ready to feast. The moment her paw made contact with her meal, the flames responded by dying out, revealing a fully-grilled steaming spherical carcass. She proceeded to chow down on the balloon-like creature by rapidly clawing out slabs of meat with her paws and shoving it down her mouth where her cheeks puffed out like a chipmunk.
Poison. Organs. Eyeballs, Bones.
There was nothing she wouldn’t eat.
There would be no trace of the fish left by the time she was done with it.
Another fish had been brutally murdered by the wanted criminal feline: Koneko Miu.
