"It might help me understand what motivated my failed bio computer to assist you, why either of you are able to stand here right now having not immediately fled the island."
The way he so callously referred to Watcher practically shifted Kites vision to red. His heart pumped to the beat of a war drum and it all but decided what words he was going to use. The few pieces of communication he could offer up before leaping onto Aspen, pinning him to the ground and knocking some sense into him. As of this moment Koa's body was little more than further proof of how corrupt the scientist could be, some kind of betrayal which further solidified in the back of his head when referenced to the conversation Watcher had with them. That was his cabin, that warning was a scare tactic.
Far from the truth as it was, anyway.
"I have absolutely nothing I want to say to you other than this."
"People... good people will always strive to do what they believe is right."
"How very trite and glib, but very well. I can now adjust my calculations accordingly," Briefly letting go over the arm rests the young man gently rolled his shoulders with his palms facing upwards.
Nearly kicking off the ground into a spring as the figure continued to speak gave him some pause. Just after having completed his explanation to Bryony he grew silent, not even dignifying the scuffle of feet and Kite feinting forward with a flinch. Yellow eyes drifted from the both of them to look beyond into the skyline, whatever the reason he took his right hand and pinched the bridge of his nose and simultaneously continuing to speak as he massaged that particular area of his face.
"Best place on the island to observe my work and it's now worthless," He held his eyes closed as he rose up from the chair, dropping his hands to his side and letting his left hand grip his hip.
Unable to contain himself any longer the hunter ran off towards Aspen, both weapons drawn as he leaned forward in his sprint. Arms spreading out with two straight gripped knives, like hunting talons mixed with a deadly net. The rate Kalisto was accelerating at was quicker than most hunting animals and he looked little more than a blur, only becoming solid once the throne had been successfully flung into his path. Lowering his foot back to the ground the scientist gave a dismissive wave with his right hand only glancing at the projectile his leg had hooked and hurtled at the swordsman. Met with something moving nearly as fast as he was and with previous damage on top of that the swordsman very nearly crumpled to the ground having to change tactics and cross his swords to guard his front. arms folded into an X he was able to slash apart his swords just before the momentum carried him off the edge of the summit. A long line of snow marked just how far he had been pushed back and provided a stop gap for the attacks on Bryony.
Aspen had been quicker, much quicker than Kite. Running toe first and leaping to land on just one foot to avoid the worst of her roots, it was like fighting some kind of animal versus a bloated scholar. Those yellow eyes turned predator-like when he was within 2 meters, acrobatics allowing him to cartwheel or land into a roll to dodge the physical parts of the Mandrake-Woman's attacks. He had no weapons in his hands but the fact he was trying to close the distance on her meant that whatever he was going to use must involve intimate contact.
Past the one meter mark maybe the brunette would notice it, the orange bits of foam tucked carefully in the ears that rested just under that impressively groomed head of hair. Which strangely enough hardly moved despite the intensive show of physical ability. Kite by comparison had his hair blowing madly as he did his best to dash towards the pair, having taken the time to mesh his knives together once more and grasp the long sword in a reverse grip favoring his left hand while using his right for added bracing and firepower.
Can't risk throwing these over the side of the cliff, need to make sure I can knock that guy out or limit his mobility! How is he even moving that fast?! Facial expression hardening into a paradigm of fury the head hunter intervened at the last second of the confrontation making sure to use his companions attack as cover to encroach upon the quickly disappearing space between Revolutionary and Scientist.
"I was very sure that I'd be able to strike down the girl first, in any event I still get to take one of you out of the fight early," Aspen allowed a tiny smile on his face, a brilliant warning that fell flat on the already doomed Kite.
Swinging his sword from the hip he intended on shoving the villain right of the edge of the mountain and avoid all the unnecessarily complicated clashing. Unable to offer up anything than frustration when his strike was braced between the mans palms got Aspen to click his tongue in a mocking tone. The attack had caused a shockwave, a very small one, to send up clouds of snow like smoke and had very nearly met its mark. Instead of someone going flying electricity arched between the doctors fingertips and flowed across the blade like energized snakes traveling up the length of the ivory haired berserkers arms. He grunted, he barred his teeth but despite all that fuss he stood his ground and slowly the sound of boots losing traction could be heard, the scrapping of leather on solid stone.
"Fine with me, fry out your brains while your friend watches."
Something had snapped much more deeply in Kite once Aspen had revealed his explanation for his actions and how genuinely disappointed he seemed to hear, what to Kite, was sincere. The anger he had worked to keep under control for so long had once again boiled over, he was fuming at what seemed to be an irredeemable tyrant. A sociopath-- no a psychopath that toyed with peoples lives because he had nothing better to do! Despite pain ebbing through skin, muscle, even deep into his bones the albino continued to push against his sword letting the unnaturally blue light dance atop his skin and start to fry black spots in his clothing and produce the beginning of many scars.
