“You saw the...” Octavia rubbed her temple with the edge of her frying pan, grumbling in an attempt to wrap her mind around the situation at hand. The scrawny individual was getting on her nerves. She didn’t know what to make of him. Furthermore she was still quite furious over the destruction of that slab. Such a treasure was worth almost as much as the contest winnings in her opinion. Then Dagon mentioned her toxin....or lack thereof. She flashed a look of pure ice towards the human.
”I don’t need toxins to crush the life out of that flat chest of yours kid!” She worked her way up to full posture. Her head was still pounding, but she was done. She just wanted to be over this crap and working on finding her next pay day.
”Whatever. I’m out. Good luck with your boyfriend Mister Missus.” As she moved to leave behind this pair of frustrating interlopers the giant mermaid spied the growing crowd of onlookers surrounding the group. They were almost blockading her from leaving without causing a scene. With a loud, exxagerated groan Octavia turned around facing Dagon and Mizuki, who mentioned her temper and aiming it in the right direction. She narrowed her eyes at the Fishman.
“For ALL I know it was you assholes who framed me! I’m not in the business of handing out trust here.” She lowered herself, bending forward so that she could get as close to eye level with Dagon as she could. “You really want to be all buddy buddy now and go get drinks? Hmmm? Maybe go hunt down the people who did this?” She raised herself back up to full height. “Hmpf....”. She looked over her shoulder at the crowd again. As much as she hated to admit it, she wasn’t getting off the island as things were. She needed to lay low. Or she needed to find the real culprit. Looking back to Dagon and Mizuki she carefully weighed her options. “Fine. YOU can drink. YOU can trust. I plan on surviving.” She waved her hand dismissively.
“Lead the way boss. You’ve got twenty minutes to convince me not to eat you in your sleep.” The Pink Sands was indeed close by, but required one to progress down a couple alleys to find the out of the way establishment. This likely discouraged everyone but loyal patrons or those who appreciated its.....particular design tastes. Fortuitous for Octavia and Mizuki, the place was built for all bodies and races. She could stand to full height comfortably, but she felt like she could vomit at the decor. She’d never seen so much pink in her life.
