Devil Fruits and the abilities they grant upon consumption are a core feature of One Piece’s world. Characters can obtain Devil Fruits for a price – a portion of their X-Poinz which represents them consuming and getting to grips with the basics of their ability. Devil Fruits grant numerous benefits to those lucky (or unlucky) enough to eat them, manifesting in one of a diverse array of extraordinary powers. If you wish to obtain a Devil Fruit, you must first have the intended recipient of said ability approved or otherwise pending for approval. You can’t claim a power and sit on it indefinitely! Once you’re at that stage, you can apply for a Devil Fruit by completing and posting the following template up in the Devil Fruit Board.
While you’re working on it, add the WIP label by clicking on the “Actions” drop-down menu at the top of the post, go to “Labels” and then select “Add WIP”. Once you’ve completed it and are ready for a member of staff to assess it for approval, you can do the same again. Just select “Remove WIP” and “Add Pending”. Staff won’t normally look at character profiles that haven’t had the Pending label applied, so make sure you do so!
Please be aware that each member can only have one Devil Fruit application marked WIP at a time in the Devil Fruit Approval board. If you have more than one application marked with the WIP label at a time, the oldest one will be archived.[div align="center"]<Devil Fruit Romaji Name>[/div]

Here’s a breakdown of everything you’ll need to complete the Devil Fruit template:
<Devil Fruit Romaji Name>
The header of your Devil Fruit application should be the name of the Devil Fruit. For example, Gomu Gomu no Mi. There’s nothing more to it than this, really. A Japanese name should consist of roughly two Kana – basically, two syllables – which can either have meaning on their own, be converted from an English word that doesn’t translate properly, or even be a shortened form of a word.
English Name
What would the Devil Fruit’s name be when translated to English? For example, Daz Bones’ Supa Supa no Mi became the Dice-Dice Fruit.
Classification
Is this a Paramecia, Zoan or Logia? If it’s an Ancient or Mythical Zoan, mention so here as well!
Owned By
Which character is the Devil Fruit being given to? Please provide a link to their profile!
Appearance
A brief description of what your Devil Fruit looks like. Consider what its original fruit was, what colour it became when the powers entered it, and maybe another distinguishing feature. All Devil Fruits have a spiral pattern. The Mera Mera no Mi’s spirals slightly resemble flames, alluding to the power it contains, though this is the only known Devil Fruit to do so.
Ability
What exactly does the Devil Fruit offer? Describe the core ability it grants to whoever consumes it, and include some basic detail as to why the ability is useful. For example, Luffy’s Gomu Gomu no Mi gives his body the physical properties of rubber, making him a “Rubber Man”. This allows him to stretch and twist in various ways, as well as providing him with a natural resistance to blunt force attacks and a complete immunity to electrical attacks. Depending on the complexity of certain powers, they might need a bit more description, but you needn’t go overboard so long as the point comes across decently enough.
Weaknesses
What are the natural weaknesses of your Devil Fruit? Of course, all Ability Users are immobilised by being submerged in water, and weakened to the point of being powerless while in contact with Sea-Prism Stone. But, what are your power’s specific weaknesses? What can be done to hinder or prevent it, or does it make you more vulnerable to certain things? You need at least one exploitable weakness to pass.
There are three classifications of Devil Fruit – Paramecia, Zoan and Logia – which offer different abilities. The Zoan Class Devil Fruits are further divided into three types – normal, Ancient and Mythical. Here’s the X-Poinz costs and general details for each class of Devil Fruit:
- Zoan
100 X-Poinz
Any Devil Fruit that allows a being to transform into an animal form and back belongs to the Zoan Class. They are often regarded as the weakest of Devil Fruits due to their simplicity, but the fact of the matter is that – when combined with particular martial styles – a Zoan’s natural benefits offer substantial increases to the Ability User’s fighting ability. Zoans are the only Class of Devil Fruit known to have ‘Models’, such as how Rob Lucci’s power is classed as the Neko Neko no Mi, Model: Leopard. A Zoan that masters their transformations can develop new forms to supplement their Fighting Style, or even transform individual parts of their body where and when necessary. Check out our Zoan Guide for more details on these Devil Fruits.- Paramecia
200 X-Poinz
These are Devil Fruits that affect the consumer’s body in a variety of possible ways. As such, Paramecia are one of the most common and variable classes available. They tend to have a particular theme or concept which their powers follow very closely, ranging from materials and objects to more abstract things. Some cause the Ability User to ‘become’ something, such as how Luffy’s body is essentially made of rubber, while others allow them to produce matter from their bodies, such is the case with Galdino’s wax. Some Paramecia require an external subject or source to function – and as such require some form of direct physical contact to work – like Pica’s and Sugar’s abilities. For more in-depth explanations about Paramecia, please refer to our Paramecia Guide.- Special Paramecia
300 X-Poinz
A peculiar sub-variety of the Paramecia classification. Easily mistaken for Logia-class abilities, Special Paramecia encompass similar concepts, allowing their eaters to turn into and generate a particular substance. Unlike Logia, however, Special Paramecia are far broader in scope, not being limited only to "nature systems" (and in fact being barred from that category, as it is covered by Logia themselves), while also having a restriction that Logia do not. Where Logia can manipulate preexisting sources of their particular substance, Special Paramecia are only capable of manipulating what they have created. For more details, please refer to our Paramecia Guide.- Ancient Zoan
300 X-Poinz
One of the two major subtypes of the Zoan. Ancient Zoans function identically to a normal Zoan, but instead adopt the form of an otherwise extinct animal, such as a dinosaur or Ice Age mammal. Current examples of this are Drake’s Devil Fruit – the exact model of which is an unknown tyrannosaurid – and Jack’s Zou Zou no Mi, Model: Mammoth. Ancient Zoans are, in addition to their transformations, known to offer much greater strength to their consumers as well. The Zoan Guide has further details.- Logia
400 X-Poinz
This class of Devil Fruit is as rare as it is powerful. Anyone who consumes a Logia takes on the ability to shapeshift into and generate a particular, naturally occurring material or energy. A Logia’s abilities are dangerous and malleable, as their mostly intangible physical form renders them practically immune to damage forms that their original body would be vulnerable to. A Logia’s abilities generally revolve around shaping their particular ‘substance’ – expanding their body to propagate and wield their bizarre state as an incredible weapon. For further details regarding Logia, take a look at our Logia Guide.- Mythical Zoan
500 X-Poinz
Said to be the rarest and some of the most powerful Devil Fruits, the Mythical Zoans allow the Ability User to transform into a mythical creature. With their transformations come various additional powers, some of which resemble the powers of a Paramecia or Logia, and it is this that makes the Mythical Zoan one of the most potent kinds of Devil Fruit. They also appear to blur some of the lines of Zoan classification as a result of their legendary power, as Sengoku’s Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Daibutsu takes its name and transformation from a golden statue of Buddha (essentially making him a form of golem) rather than Buddha himself. The Zoan Guide has more details for Mythical Zoan creation.
