Plot Summary:
A PO is summoned to the Captain's office and is told that they wish to promote her. However, there will be a test to be held. This test would let them asses her leadership abilities since the intended promotion is to a Jr.Lieutenant grade. This would be done by giving her a new recruit to train for an coming obstacle course. Out of all the newbies, the Captain selects Pluto and assigns him to Tsubaki.
They begin going through some basic combat skills and Tsubaki tries to think of the best strategy to train her first student. In the middle of training, when Tsubaki is out of sight, a group of recruits enter to confront Pluto, believing that he cheated his way to the chance of getting special treatment and a promotion. Their attempts to intimidate the young recruit fail and this sparks a chain of other events involving the group.
After the duo run out of time, the test finally takes place in the form of an obstacle course that Pluto must conquer. The higher ups even shorten the original five day span beforehand. There is something suspicious about the examination. Tsubaki realizes that it is impossible to teach everything necessary in just a couple of days and suspects an ulterior motive but there is no telling what it is. Only at the end of the test do their motives become clear and Pluto almost dies in a watery grave!!! No one dies in the end and turns out the Captain didn't want Pluto to die. He just wanted Tsubaki to save him.
