NO WEIRD POLL ANSWER THIS TIME SUCKERS!
You abused it with the last round too much.
Anyway, my suggestion that I put to the whole is based in the fact that mission mode doesn't really do much for me? I mean what does on site at the moment, am I right?!Heheheheheh, I'm so pathetically lacking ambition here...
So yeah, I'd like to suggest the idea of AU (Alternate Universe) style missions? What is my aim? Well, I figure it gives you a chance to portay your character outside of their usual comfortable circumstance, and in some ways turn a character into someone completely different? The basic idea is that the 'hook' of the mission see the character put on a different path in life than they have experienced in their life, perhaps radically altering who they are? Here's some examples;
A New Walk Of Life
Basically, this mission would enable one or more of the participants to 'switch' their life to another basic role. If you're a pirate, suddenly you could explore what it would be like if your character somehow ended up as a Marine? Maybe it was accidental, or maybe something in their backstory was changed and they ended up on the other side of the fence? How would this affect them? Would they stay the same or would we see a very different version of them? Would this new path in life bring out parts of their personality that their current life rarely shows?
This would stand true for any kind of switch, with a Marine becoming a Pirate or a Revolutionary, or maybe even a civillian being forced into a life with a roguish dream or demand for justice?
It Could Have Been So Different
Similar to the previous but perhaps more personal, in this mission one or more people in the thread have a significant event (or several) in their past changed? Is there a time when a fight was lost and with it something important? Perhaps that one special person that turned your characters life around passed by you in a crowd without realizing? Maybe that beloved parent or caretaker died before you really got to know them? Maybe that villian of history never stepped into your life? Perhaps rather than choosing to follow the path of the sword, you ended up getting big into embroidery?
The possibilities are endless! The subject is often touched in long running TV Shows, with characters ending up with different alliances and some becoming very different people as a result? I think it's interesting to explore these things, and maybe will bring about some interesting threads?
Waking Up From The Dream
Perhaps a controversial one here, but what if you woke up one day and suddenly everything you wanted you had? All characters are expected to have some form of goal on site they work toward, and most of their purpose here is built around achieving these goals. But what next?
What if you wanted to be the World's Strongest Swordsman and you 'wake up' to find that a defeated Mihawk lies at your feet? Or you go out in search of All Blue and next thing you know you're looking down over the grand gathering of all the world's sea creatures?
I think this is an interesting opportunity to play a character who has a chance to explore 'whats next?'? I also think maybe it would help peoples drive to play their character if they got a chance to rehearse their endgame? This thread doesn't have to be how things turn out in your canon, and can give you a chance to experiment and find something to look forward to?
