Adjusting the hem of his heavy white greatcoat, Mithanil carefully got back to his feet after his little tumble down the snowy hill he had just experienced. Looking back and up the slope he had just come down Mithanil gave a low noise of frustration. It was obvious looking at the steepness and lack of footing that he wasn't going to be able to climb back up with any sort of haste. Which meant that he was going to have a long trek back to the lone port town that the inhabitants of Viktas had built going the roundabout way. Well, at least he hadn't gotten snow under his clothes, and all of his gear was still firmly attached to him, although he had managed to drop his halberd sometime along the trip down the slope.
With a quick look about his position Mithanil discovered his halberd lying half buried in the loose snow at the bottom of the slope, and as he stooped to pick it up he continued to gaze about him in order to find out where exactly he had fallen into. He had been out in the middle of this winter wasteland in order to have a go at studying the local fauna, namely the famous Juno Penguins. Famous for their monstrous size, Juno Penguins were the largest breed of Penguin not classified as a Seaking, sometimes growing to well over twenty feet in length. In fact they were so large they were big enough to eat the other animal Mithanil had hoped to study here; the Great Southern Shark. Both were a particularly unique species amongst their group, with the Juno Penguins being especially large and the Great Southern Sharks being especially hardy against the frigid conditions of the antarctic water surrounding Viktas. With some intensive study and some luck Mithanil might be able to create something of real use. The latent potential was massive.
Of course Mithanil had yet to run into a single Juno Penguin while on land and had yet to travel to the outer waters surrounding the island where the sharks made their home. It was rather a pain in the ass for Mithanil at this point, especially now that he had managed to get himself stuck on the long way back to civilization. Sighing, Mithanil pulled the hood of his greatcoat, which resembled something closer to a fur-lined parka at this point, and set off deeper into the wilderness. He'd never find the Juno Penguins if he stood still...
