We know that the greatest 'lost island' in the series is Raftel, and in more recent story appearances the story of how to get there is slowly being revealed. That was fine, but then the Heart of Gold special occurred, and in that yet another 'absent land' was the subject of the plot, and that got me to thinking about the chaotic New World first and foremost, and the topic of these hard to get to locations? I know we now have a board in the Paradise section of the Grand Line for islands that are off the usual log routes, but these lands are not truly lost, just unusual for people to visit in the course of the chain of lands the region has.
So I was wondering what people thought as to the topic of making islands with special requirements to finding?
Personally, I'd be for it! Several times I've had character ideas that would have had an end goal that would be a location forgotten by the ages. For instance, recently, I had an idea for a botanist type character who was looking for a place I was gonna call 'Eden Garden'; a place that has a wealth of plant life, with many incredible and magical species that have been forgotten about by most. In many ways, it sort of represents an 'All Blue' for the plant lover, and would have become something of a legend among explorers since it has been found for centuries. Sort of like Shandora's Golden City, many would think it some sort of myth and doubt that it actually exists, with only dreamers really looking for the place seriously. There'd be some sort of special manner to get there, which off the top of my head was like a very rare flower with an effect similar to a log pose; basically, once grown the face of the flower would always look toward Eden and by following this one could find the way there. Not as complicated as the route to Raftel but still a tricky thing to find, since the specific breed of flower would be difficult to discover. I even considered the idea that the specific flower was so common now that many overlook it, perhaps growing in the Western Lands and facing East so many assume they are in some way heliotropic.
Anyway, that's my idea, but what do you think?
