With a moderate pace, Pluto walked silently forwards, closing the gap between him and the main threat little by little. A quiet yet wrathful energy was kept suppressed and bottled up within him, boiling for every step of self-control he took to keep this feeling in check.
“RWA-HA-HA-HA-HA! Don’t worry! You and your sister can both become slaves together,” Varuna snapped his fingers with a right hand, and with that gesture alone, he summoned forth almost his entire crew onto the spot. From the great lake beside them, a myriad of Fishmen had been lurking beneath the waters, and upon their boss’ signal, all of them shot out of the water, arcing through the air before landing on solid ground. In a matter of seconds, a massive horde of diverse Fishmen stood in a massive mob, surrounding the black-haired human adolescent in a thick, closed circle.
“Pluto!” Rebecca cried out. As much confidence as she had in her brother, the youth must have had been glaring at over a hundred Fishmen. She didn’t have no idea that there were that many hiding in the waters this entire time, but now that the sheer number of them have been shown, the enemy’s forces were much greater than she initially imagined. If a fight breaks out, this wouldn’t even be a fair fight. Her brother was simply way too outnumbered.
Despite the scene, the rhythm of the boy’s strides never broke as he continued to walk forwards step by step. His eyes were dead set on Varuna and no one else. He never even bothered to take a glance at what’s around him.
“He-he-he-he! There’s only one human. Won’t this be overkill?” One of the Fishman spoke in the midst of several other snickering voices.
“All of you! Pummel him to the ground!” Varuna swung out his arm, commanding his entire army to take out this single individual. In response, the encircling mob shrunk towards the center as a bunch of them charged inwards, squeezing against one another to get in the first hit. Laughter, battle cries, and rampaging growls sounded out.
With a subtle raise of his head, the boy finally halted his strides, “Coiling Serpent.”
A heartbeat later, a powerful gale encapsulated the boy entirely as a massive whirlwind was summoned forth. Its coiling, twisting, twining forces spun violently upwards, hurling countless of bodies to be drawn into the massive vortex as they rise up.
Seconds later, the entire army was engulfed entirely as their bodies were nothing more than tiny speck of shadows within the massive grey twister. The screams and voices of terror became nothing more than background noises compared to the sheer whistling and whooshing sound of the wind.
Rebecca was absolutely astonished as her dark hair wavered by the strong gust blowing against her from behind. She had no clue whatsoever what was happening. This was completely new to her. Something like this had never happened in the past.
Varuna had his jaws lowered as his eyes widened at the sheer monstrosity at what’s in front of him. It was as if the forces of nature had manifested on the spot. Despite the distance that he stood, he could feel his own body being drawn towards the vortex, and if he wasn’t careful, the twister could very well swallow him whole. “W-what…, what the hell is this?”
It wasn’t just the bodies that were engulfed; even the lake was being sucked into it. The Cavern Crab that was watching over felt himself being dragged across the ground little by little towards the vortex. About fifteen seconds later, the entire funnel of wind dissipated on the spot. The storming colors of grey cleared up to a scene of Fishmen raining from above as bodies crashed sporadically all over the place. Some landed in the waters while some crashed onto the ground or onto the shell of crabs.
“W-where is he?” Varuna turned his head left and right, frantically searching for the human boy. Closing his eyes, he allowed the stiffness in his body to subside.
Calm down! I must focus! A punch from behind…,
Reopening his eyes, he lurched to the side as a black fist slipped past him. Readjusting his footing, the Fishman turned his waist and unleashed his own punch. His fist and his opponent’s fist collided head on as the impact caused the air around them to ripple.
“…Who the hell are you?” As Varuna met his attacker face to face, he could barely recognize him. He was looking at a dark humanoid figure with pointed ears, claws for hands and feet, and black demonic wings. He could barely recognize the boy who is now in his Human-Beast Form.
I used the Coiling Serpent Technique to cloak myself as I flew upwards. I then attacked him at his blind-spot, but he still managed to dodge my attack. Was it a fluke?
