The sounds of a gun fight were not that rare on Winchester Island, what with the marines constantly chasing the pirate criminal threat that was oh so close to them. As usual, towards the centre of the island near the one gate that passes between the two halves of the island was a gun battle, some plucky pirates had decided that they should assault the gate, try and force their way in to pillage the good half of the island. The half that was loaded and filled with commodities that the eastern side never had, riches and plunder that some pirates could only dream off in their small small heads. The sun, high in the sky, was beating down over the ever-growing battlefield and more pirates and people of ill repute joined the shootout.
After only twenty minutes had passed, the battle had spread from the gate and along the wall with an bigger and heavier weapons being employed to shoot their opponents. The houses that lined the wall were all shells, destroyed form the numerous battles that had taken place around them, all the cannon shots that they had endured.
Through all of the chaos, the gunfire, the shouting, and the swearing was a single young woman, walking up through the centre as if it was nothing, calmly humming to herself as she walked onwards with her eyes closed. The shouts to “Get out of the way” or “Those dirty pirates will kill you!” general iterations of that were being thrown at her, still she did not care. The purple haired lass would keep walking regardless, like a woman on a mission. Her clothes did not show it, show her way of life, but she could more than handle the situation. Her black unzipped jacket partially hid a bandaged wrapped chest, even with that the womanly curves shone through rather prominently. The knee length shorts that she was wearing were giving her ample room as she took her long and proud strides through the chaos.
This scene could not last forever, as not all of the participants in this fight were as honest or as kind as the ones who let her walk through or had shouted to get her attention. No, there were a few on both sides that did not like the fact that this girl was walking through the battlefield as if she was owning it. The first to take a shot at the ever so Zen woman was a marine, one of the ever-corrupted ones at that. With a whooshing sound, the first bullet would fly past her face, making her shin length fringe swish with the passing wind. It was at this moment her eyes snapped open with a fire, these yellow gems, so similar to a monsters snapped to the man who took the first shot and as he fired a second she proved why she had the right to move as she did.
Shifting her weight to her left food the chocolate-skinned woman would lower down and raise her hand that was making a cupping shape. As the bullet reached, her all she did was move her hand and changed its course, shifting the way it was moving without destroying any of the momentum sending the bullet into the dirt beside her. As she stood up straight the young woman would look up at the man near the gate and with a frown she stopped humming and then let out a monstrous bellow.
“DO YOU WANT TO KILL ME!? HUH?!” With her eyes locked on the marine who was now so dumbfounded by the revelation that this was no simple girl, there was something too her, and he did not like that he was about to find out. “HOW WOULD YOU LIKE IT IF I THREW THAT BULLET BACK AT YOU HUH?!” The frown slowly turned to a smile as she looked back behind her, to a pirate who had his gun trained on her, shaking, as scared as the marine at what he just witnessed. “Pull that trigger and I swear I will show you a bad time.” The calm and collected air around her vanished in that instant as she realised what she was doing.
Looking like she was a little kid who had just done something naughty she stood upright, bowed at the two men individually, and looked up. “Please continue what you were doing, don’t let me be a bother.” She said with a peaceful smile before moving to walk onwards, muttering to herself. “Come on Bobby, that’s not very Zen is it? Don’t lose your cool now, you’re on to a lead...”
She carried on walking leaving the pair and the few who watched the events unfold confused as to what just happened, some even started making bets as to who would piss her off the most, them or the marines.
In a matter of minutes, something else could be heard in the battle, something that was not bombs or bullets, Shouts or swears. It was the crying of a small child, a young girl who was stuck on the battlefield. Talking to herself Robby would keep her eyes peeled now. “Now this is a good reason to get involved with the fight.” As she said that her eyes locked on to a small girl sitting in the shell of a house only a few metres away. Bawling her eyes out and holding a teddy bear as tight as she could.
“I WANT MY MUMMY!” she screamed out as the battle continued around her with all the men and women ignoring her cries as they fought to the death over a scrap of land and basic earthly possessions. It was then that the monk would grit her teeth; a scene like this was what she despised. With a powerful leap, Robby would be over the wall the girl was hiding behind and ready to help, to keep her safe, to find her mummy.
