Name of Island: Eggstar Island (Overhaul of Starhigh Island)
Society: Eggstar Society
Size of Island: Roughly the size of Little Garden.
Location: Reflection Route
Log Pose Time: 45 weeks
Climatic Type: Fall Island
Climate: The climate of the island is perpetually in a state of cool autumn winds. The feel one gets around the end of the month of October. The winds are somewhat chilly, but mostly refreshing.
Island Appearance: Because this is a sky island, it cannot be “viewed” from afar. However, if one were to able to see it horizontally from a distance, they would see a large mass of land, cupped inside of a bowl of clouds. The island has many tall trees. all of which are many shades of oranges, reds, and yellows. The very bottom of the island seems to emanate a purple hum.
Flora and Fauna:
Flora:
White Mix Trees: The White Mix Trees are the signature flora of Eggstar. Tall slightly bent trees that produce brightly colored leaves year round. These leaves are often used by the locals for their multiple uses in medicine. The leaves contain a chemical that helps the body heal from wounds faster. Once every year the locals take the leaves they couldn’t use for medicine and throw them into the cloud that holds the island below them. Eventually, so many leaves get piled up that it turns the cloud a myriad of colors. Eventually, a combination of rain, wind and cleaning up manage to remove all the leaves from the cloud.
Happy Marsh Bushes: Bushes shaped like marshmallows that the inhabitants use as chairs and tables, depending on their size. They are extremely soft and the growth process looks more like an inflation process. They are not edible, but they’re very tough and very soft to the touch.
Camey Wheel Seeds: Camey Wheel Seeds are a type of seed that pop up along the ground all over Eggstar. They come in a wide variety of all different colors, and consuming them can even the color of ones hair and eyes. Though the effect is not permanent, consuming enough seeds will cause the color to pass down as a dominant trait, meaning that children could possibly end up with bright red hair due to the seeds. These seeds are the primary diet of Eggstar's Chickens.
Eggstar is able to produce fruits that look like one fruit, but taste like another. Common fruits include Apples that taste like banana's, grapes that taste like coconut, and Oranges that taste like tangerines, though it is often disputed whether or not such a fruit should be considered exotic. These fruits are the pride of the Eggstar Fruit Guild, and are named quite easily. The fruit they look like is the first half of the name, and the fruit they taste like is the second half of the name. Appananas, Graponuts, and Orangines are all very common on Eggstar, though many people work to make more exotic combinations, such as Strawbermelon, Pinelemon, and the ever rare Dragon Cherry.
Fauna:
Gumpot Pigs: Gumpot Pigs are the mascots and national animal of Eggstar, and gained their name due to their pot shaped body, and because they always look like they’re chewing gum. Gumpot Pigs have a tendency to wander into the towns of Eggstar, not to cause trouble but mostly to have a good time. The sleep, eat peoples trash, and provide a special service; Gumpot Pigs have a large dent in their body, shaped like a pot. The dent is not very deep, but it is very wide, allowing for objects, or people to be placed inside. Gumpot Pigs start off as around the size of Golden Retriever puppies, however, once fully grown, they can become as large as a fully grown hippopotamus. They classified as A type creatures: Big Friendly
Yellow Dot Nin-ninzards: Yellow Dot Nin-ninzards are another species of animal living on Eggstar Island. They are characterized by their bright yellow polkadot patterned body, and large legs. These creatures live deep in the forests of Eggstar, rarely bothering the Sky-folk living on the island. However, in times when food is hard to come by, they will sometimes steal from the towns at night. Their large bodies and powerful legs make the locals unfit to combat them, however, they are known to be afraid of Gumpot Pigs, especially when full grown, since they are much smaller than an Adult Gumpot Pig. They are quite intelligent, as they are known to trick people and other animals into traps and other dangerous situations. They are most akin to geckos in appearance, but produce a natural toxin that paralyzes temporarily. They are also well known for their ability to jump extremely high. They are classified as D type creatures: Small Savage.
Eggstar Chickens: Though not exactly any different from the chickens that would inhabit any other area of the world, Eggstar chickens are prized and are bred extensively. Most citizens own at least one chicken. The most noticeable difference between these chickens and blue sea chickens are their odd variety of colors, of which they gain due to the diet of Camey Wheel Seeds that the locals feed them.
The island is also inhabited by insects such as flies and ants, as well as rodents, primarily rabbits, and some shrews. All these animals were brought to Eggstar by the inhabitants in order to try and introduce them to the wilderness. With rabbits and flies mucking about, the Eggstar's hoped that the Nin-ninzards would attack them less as they would have plenty of food.
Inhabitants:Sky-folk: The Sky-people that live on Eggstar have developed a knack for cooking with none other than blue sea eggs. Thus, they often trade with nearby islands on the blue sea, usually giving dials or Gumpot Pigs in exchange for Chickens. They also have learned to breed their own chickens, but because so much of the populace eats eggs, they always have a high demand for more chickens. Their wings are shaped similarly to those of Bilkans from Skypiea, of which they are most likely related. Eggstar sky-folk generally just refer to themselves as the “Eggstar society” but they don’t press this fact too much on visitors.
Prominent Organizations, Groups and Establishments:The Eggstar Fruit Guild: Though the people of Eggstar are very adept at cooking with eggs, they are famous for their fruit guild. The fruit guild travels far and wide, trading the many exotic fruits of Eggstar to the many peoples of the blue sea and even Underwater islands. The fruit guild has even ventured into the New World, bringing back new and unknown fruits found in their travels. They have one golden rule: If you find a devil fruit, do not eat it, Eggstar needs the money. The Eggstar Fruit Guild is currently led by the second oldest person on the island, Madam Basket.
Infinitovo: The most popular restaurant on Eggstar, Infinitovo is the #1 spot to get the finest egg dishes, possibly in the whole of the Grand Line. The restaurant is a grand hall filled to the brim with chefs and tables. The head chef, Gema O. Vereezee, is a flamboyant man who's skill with an egg are unparalleled. The wait list is as long as you'd expect, and getting a table could take anywhere up to 3 months. Pirates and traders reserve months in advance and often take up the whole building, eating thousands of eggs.
Trends:Fashion
The clothing style of Eggstar is strikingly similar to real world Maori fashion styles, mixed with modern blue sea clothing. Many people here wear bright colors and soft fabrics. Headdresses and necklaces are common in both men and women. Most people don’t wear shoes here, instead wearing thick socks that act as warmers and shoes, though these are only for casual wear. Many people also adorn themselves with tattoos that often hold historical and spiritual meaning.
Politics
The politics of Eggstar are quite often very liberal in their affairs. The island is governed by two people. The first and most important is the current oldest member of the island, be it man or woman. They are in charge of deciding on only the most important of decisions. Their wisdom and experience gives them priority in these. The second leader is chosen randomly each month, but is always an Eggstar youth around the ages of 17 to 21. They are in charge of assisting the older leader in their old age, and are also responsible for making less important choices, as their youth and creativity often allow for the most ingenuitive and outside-the-box method of solving a problem. The primary leader is always referred to as “God” as is customary for most sky-folk. The secondary leader who changes each month, is referred to as “First Egg”.
Industry
Eggstar is famous for two kinds of people. First and foremost are its chefs, who are skilled in many different fields of cooking, and instead of just trying to cook eggs, they have learned to incorporate eggs into basically anything.
The second is actually quite odd, as Eggstar is famous for its dancers. People around paradise, especially on other sky islands, have heard tell of the dancers of Eggstar. They are famous for their radically original moves and styles, such as the One-Two Eggs in my shoe, the Yolkimbo Fire Walk, and the personal favorite of most of the islanders Surra de Ovo.
Cuisine
The chefs of Eggstar have become especially famous for their implementation of eggs into cuisine. However they are also famous for a specific dish. The infamous Yokapolis, Kingdom of the Eggs. Yokapolis is a dish using around 147 eggs. It also uses eggs in nearly every possible way they can be prepared. This monumental dish is prepared in times of celebration, such as The day of God, or to thank someone who greatly helped their community.
NPCS:
God Fjor: Fjor is the current God of Eggstar, and is a mighty warrior who has gained both the respect and love of his people. He is 121 years old and is assisted by a First Egg at all times due to his old age. He was one of the founding members of the Eggstar Fruit Guild and was the leader up until he became the oldest person on the island 30 years ago. His peak physical condition has kept him alive for an abnormally long amount of time. He is a tall man, around 7' with flowing white hair down to his shoulders, and an extremely long beard that reaches below his waist. He wears his armor at all times, and carries a war hammer the size of his body across his back.
Madam Basket: Basket is the current leader of the Eggstar fruit Guild. She is 71 years old, and is slated to become the next Goddess of Eggstar. In her youth she raised Gumpot Pigs, some were easier to raise than others however, and thus, her physical abilities are quite high to this day. Adult Gumpot Pigs that refuse to listen to their owners are often visited by Madam Basket, who has developed a reputation around town as the “Pig Whisperer”. She is only 5'9" but her muscles make her look bigger. She has bright blonde hair and wears leather padding over casual attire. She wears a hat made out of a watermelon rind, signifying her position as the leader of the Fruit Guild. She is quite rowdy, and often gets into arguments with First Eggs. However, she has a great amount of respect for Fjor, seeing him as a father figure and role model.
Gema O. Vereezee: The current head chef of Infinitovo, Gema is a former explorer who was one of the founding members of the Eggstar Fruit Guild. His prowess in combat is not as remarkable as Basket or Fjor, however is abilities in the kitchen are astounding. He is currently 70 years of age, but time hasn't slowed him down one bit. He is a pudgy old man with a head of bushy brown hair, he always wears a stereotypical chef hat and apron. His clothing is made out of feathers and bones, to give him what he calls "Chicken Empathy".
First Egg Cooraku: Cooraku is the current First Egg of Eggstar, and his duties include tending to the needs of God Fjor, as well as assisting Eggstar in the advancement of their culture and expanding their influence. He is a young man of 19, famous among young women for his good looks and vibrant blue hair and blue eyes. He is in reality however, a very crude and clumsy individual, often screwing up small tasks out of sheer bad luck.
Town(s)/Village(s)/City or Cities:
Egghub: The only town on all of Eggstar, situated at the southernmost point, is Egghub. It is a fairly large town, and is about 25% of the island. Even though it covers quite a large amount of land, it is still utterly dwarfed by the surrounding jungles. In Egghub, one can find general stores, a myriad of restaurants, shops, and many houses. The two largest buildings are Gods Palace, a building that rises up 4 stories, and the Eggstar Fruit Guild building, which is only one story but has an extremely large basement.
Island Map: N/A
Plot Hooks: All of Eggstar's eggs have been stolen! God Fjor is willing to pay handsomely to anyone who can find the thieves and hand them over to justice. That is unless, you were the one who stole the eggs!
The Eggstar Fruit Guild has been infiltrated by a criminal, one who plans to destroy the guild from the inside out. It is up to you, whatever friends you have, and Madam Basket to find this spy and eliminate him.
Island History: The Eggstar folk have been around for over 200 years, however they only really became known to the world during the great age of piracy, when they were visited by many different pirate crews, some only stopping by, some attack them. The eggstars used to be a much larger society that lived deep within the jungles of their island, but pressure from the Nin-ninzards caused them to run in fear to the outer edges of the island. The would abandon their three central towns of Quindim, Brik, and Rafanata, in order to found the haven known as Starhub. This town would later change its name to Egghub.
However, the history of Eggstar would forever be changed when they encounter a crew of pirates that showed them the glory and beauty of the blue sea egg. Never before had they known such a tasty morsel. The Eggstars didn’t hesitate to begin leaving their home in search of more eggs. This also marked the change of their homeland to being named Eggstar. Previously the name of their island was something incomprehensible to anyone, though legends passed down by their elders claim that the name meant something along the lines of “Land where the Sun will hatch”. The people of Eggstar, now a thriving community thanks to their obsession with eggs, and thus, always working to get more, gave way to them making their mark as a must see in the first half of the Grand Line. Only in the last 70 years did the Eggstar Fruit guild come into creation, headed by their leader at the time, who is now the current God of Eggstar, Fjor. The Eggstar Fruit Guild began as a simple group of farmers who sought to collect and enjoy the many fruits of Eggstar. However, as they realized that the fruits of Eggstar were unique to them, the people found that they had another opportunity to trade with people on the blue sea to help strengthen their community. At the time, Fjor was not the God of Eggstar, but he was a pillar of the community who realized the power of communicating with the people on the surface. He spearheaded the travels to the sea and ventured to many islands along the Grand Line trading fruit and meeting many new friends and powerful enemies. When he returned, he was shocked to find that the God of Eggstar he once knew had died in his absence, and the people of Eggstar had been without a God for nearly 4 months. Fjor, knowing that he needed to take the lead and rebuild his people’s confidence, became the new and now current God of Eggstar, using his new influence to appoint his closest allies to positions of leadership in order to make Eggstar a powerful force to stand out from other Sky-Islanders. Since its inception, the Eggstar Fruit Guild has been a driving force in stabilizing and strengthening the economy of Eggstar by bringing new wonders and tools to the people of Eggstar. The island hasn’t had many important ongoings since the start of the great pirate era, but Fjor and Madam Basket have made efforts to try and keep pirates from terrorizing the locals, as they are the only two people even remotely strong enough to fend off the pirates that make their way up to the island.
