It is said that a wanderers only friends are a well-traveled path, a dry place to roost, and a tailwind to urge them on. Izou had never put much stock in those old sayings. He also wasn’t keen on trying to make friends for that matter. However, the wanderer seemed to luck out in that regard. Yosef Broski had been with the Revolutionary forces for all of his life. His stern parents were incredibly passionate about the cause and were well known for their ice cold demeanor, even towards allies. While many people would think Yosef would grow into a staunch stiff like his parents, it seemed that the only thing he inherited from his parents was their unwavering desire for change. The man was a veritable teddy bear who possessed a constant smile and sunny optimism; He even looked nothing like his parents, with a body closer to a giant than his parent’s agile physiques. It was hard for anyone not to become affected by his infectious joy, and Izou was no exception.
“Friend! We near our destination!” Yosef called out towards his newest passenger. The mountain of a man had done well for himself as a revolutionary. He had a ship of his own, which was the premise for Izou’s presence aboard it. A wanderer without a ship couldn’t travel far throughout the Blues, and Yosef had no trouble transporting Izou places. It certainly helped that the wanderer’s destination was never anywhere specific. While he hated to ask for such favors when he had no favor to return, Izou was always glad to see the massive man after so long, and he was certain the feeling was mutual.
The wanderer gazed at the land he was to be dropped off on. From what he could see, it was a small island that had distinct looking buildings spanning all that he could see. However, for the most part, it was like any other North Blue island: in perpetual snowfall. While Izou was incredibly thankful for the transportation, he couldn’t help but wonder why Yosef was sent to this island. It was too small of a target for any major Revolutionary focus for sure, yet the ship had never been so crowded with what the swordsman could only assume were all revolutionaries.
Curiosity got the better of the wanderer. “Yosef, what is your business here?” Izou asked, though it came off more as a demand. Regardless, Broski simply chuckled and dodged the question. “Worry not my friend! Is… vacation!” The giant of a man never could lie well, or at least not to Izou. The wanderer didn’t back down. He stared at his friend expectantly, something he knew would get his friend to open up and be honest. Yosef certainly tried to ignore his friends gaze, yet the man never could stand it for long. A childhood dealing with his parents glares made sure of that. “Look Izou,” he final started, his accent still ringing out despite his hushed voice, “Is not that I don’t want you to know why, Yosef simply cannot tell you.” The massive revolutionary hoped that would be enough for his friend, yet it left the curious swordsman with even more questions.
Sensing this, Broski settled on an ultimatum. “If Yosef tell you, will you help?” Izou pondered this. If there was one thing that the two men didn’t see eye-to-eye on, it was the wanderer not being an official Revolutionary. Sure, he still affiliated as one, but his belief of needing to be alone and do things in his own way was something Yosef couldn’t get behind. Regardless, the swordsman nodded. He would help. Yosef grinned infectiously from ear to ear and let out a hearty laugh. “Haha! You won’t regret this my friend!” Pulling the smaller man into a bone crushing hug, he was so elated that it took Yosef some time to realize the wanderer’s discomfort. Easing up and allowing Izou to get some much needed air, the swordsman reminded him of their deal; just what was Yosef doing heading to Yetine Island?
To answer that, the burly man would need help from some of the newer recruits given to him by HQ. He called out, “Ashe! Yosef needs you on the deck!”
