Name of Island: 1,000 Tunnel island
Size of Island: The island is very small on the surface (just a cave entrance with stairs leading underground). However there is tons and tons of tunnels underneath where the majority of the island is. The underground caverns are said to have hundreds if even thousands of tunnels all connected although if you dare go into this beastly hell hole you are bound to get lost.
Location: Grand Line, Nightmare Route.
Inhabitants: No people live there however a huge mole kingdom is rumored to be living down there. These moles if seen have been said to have large black coats with long hairless snouts and sharp jagged teeth. They smell of dirt and when standing up straight are about 10-12 feet. These creatures also use primitive tools such as spears fashioned out of sticks and sharpened rocks. The moles have the same intelligence as cave men and can utter a few words but not much. They mainly speak through violence and their main goal is to protect the queen, the treasure and expand on the tunnels.
Town(s)/Village(s)/City or Cities: There are huge tunnels built by the moles that all connect somehow or another. There are huge caverns where the moles reside and supposedly a mole kingdom somewhere in the depths of these caverns although only a few people have lived to claim there was such a place and these people have all passed away since. The kingdom looks like a large semi dome made out of rock with little semi domes on the outside with doors that all connect to the large one. There are valuable minerals everywhere in this huge cavern includes giant ones encrusted in the large dome its self. The outside is full of fungi everywhere and moles scurrying around with spears or clubs. The inside contains little homes connected to the walls of the semi dome (little compared to the semi dome) and a larger house centered in the middle where the queen mole resides.
Flora and Fauna: If giant moles were not enough for you there are huge man eating worms that roam these tunnels with a length spanning around 500 feet and a width of 50. With their large black eyes and rows and rows of sharp white teeth I don't think you will have time on your hands seeing as plans for dinner have been made for you! Besides those horrid beasts there is poisonous fungus (poisonous if you eat it) and roots that stick out of the ground in various places. The fungus glows in the dark which gives a light to brave men and women venturing through these tunnels. The tunnels otherwise are covered in jet black dirt with rocks sticking out as well as fungus and roots which were stated above. The tunnels are oddly warm and has the stench of soil. There are also tracks from worms passing through and the foot prints of moles. When you first enter the cave you here a slight humming noise and you know you are getting closer if the noise gets louder.
Island History: The island has been explored by many brave adventurers in hopes of finding the mole kingdom and taking their treasure. That's right! I said treasure! The mole kingdom supposedly has a humongous treasure as far as the eye can see. However that is just legend! Many souls have been lost down in those tunnels never to return home. Only a few have survived, and that is if they are actually telling the truth and they went there. The last supposed survivors died about 100 years ago and no reports of anyone coming back from that island has been recorded since. Also no one knows exactly how long the moles have been living there but it is rumored over thousands of years. Another mystery would be how the large stair well leading down to these caves came to be. Did humans do it or did moles?
What actually happened: Moles always owned these caves however explorers heard rumors form mermen about a cavern where bountiful treasure laid. The mermen knew this because there was a second entrance deep underwater. So brave explorers built the stairs to reach the underground cavers and that is how it all happened.
The survivors were actually a pirate crew called "Grave Digging Pirates" as their main goal was to dig up graves and obtain treasure. But they made an exception this one time instead of robbing graves to go and find this magnificent treasure. Only about four of the pirates made it out a live. Those ones were just the pirate watching the ship. They knew about the treasure by a few of their nakama coming back all bloody with a map of the underground dungeons they stole from a mole. Later that day those nakama that retrieved the map died of blood loss and they remaining crew sold the map to a merchant someone on the grand line.
