"Do you even understand the words that are coming out of your mouth? You talk as if becoming a Pirate Queen is as simple as a walk in a park. If I have to wait for you to be Pirate Queen, I'll be too old to fight." The boy crosses his arms, becoming rather impatient with this woman’s nonsense. She was the epitome of self-delusion. It was impossible for a human being to fool oneself to this extent. While he didn’t mind seeing others having unrealistic goals and ambitions, the fact that she’s already bragging before accomplishing anything really stirred the annoyance in his mind. It was like listening to a petty insect bragging about surpassing all the species in the world. If these words were spoken in a different manner, people would laugh at her for being unreasonable, but the way she said was if as she was mentally laughing at him instead.
Come on, Pluto. Just ignore her! She’s just trying to tempt to kill her sooner. Sheesh, she’s really testing out my self-control here. I don’t know how long I can endure listening to these words.
He was starting to despise this woman for coming up with such irritating words full of provocative presumptions. After a pause of not knowing what to say, he simply expressed his lack of understanding, "... I can never seem to tell when you're serious or joking." The sheer ludicrousness of her beliefs made him want to believe that she was merely joking about all this. However, her speech of empty words had a more serious side to it. Even if he had accepted her invitation to teach her, it would seem her attitude made her immune to good advice. Furthermore, in comparison to this beaten up yet prideful lady, Pluto was lot more motivated to teach his little sister instead. Being Rebecca’s mentor sounded a lot less torturous in comparison.
“Knowing you better would be a waste of time. I have a pretty good grasp on the kind of person you are. It’s obnoxiously obvious,” he stated bluntly. Everything in his mind begged him to throw insults at her. When gunshots were heard, one should just be glad that this woman was leaving. Perhaps it would be a good thing to never see this person ever again. On the other hand, taking her down one day will do this world a favor.
Stepping off the road and into an alleyway, his form shrunk into stealthy flying critter that took off into the sky. Reinforcement of marine solders seemed to be arriving, and as a present for them, he had tossed dozens of pirates around like bags of potatoes during his fight, all to be returned back to prison. The way things were set up; he would be awfully lucky if all of the crimes committed by him were transferred onto Daiyuu’s hands. Not only would that woman not mind being a scapegoat, it would make her head be worth more than it actually should. This would maximize a hunter’s gain while minimizing the threat. He wasn’t too sure if having her possessing the fruit in the very end was better or worse than having the marines possess it. Perhaps it didn’t truly matter in the end. As long as he strives towards mastering his own strengths, such a fruit would never be of a threat to him.
Landing onto the deck of a non-marine ship, his form shifted back into a humanoid form. Immediately, Pluto removed the mask and took off his hood. If he maintained his true face and identity, then there wouldn’t be any suspicions.
“Pluto!” The familiar sound of a tone called out from the dark; arms wrapped around the boy as a common greeting.
“Okay, starting tomorrow, I’ll train you to become stronger,” he officially agreed to accept his sister’s desires to learn martial arts.
Rebecca’s eyes widened upon hearing such uncharacteristic words coming from him. This seemed too good to be true, but she knew none of this was a dream. Her hug tightened even more. Perhaps something had happened to him while he was gone that changed his mind. Whatever the case, she was grateful. She wanted to keep him in his arms forever, wanting time to halt in place and soak in this sensation.
