She supposed it had been a while since she had seen Gerard. She had gotten separated from the Destiny Pirates, and, although she wasn't sure if the crew still existed, this might be her best bet at finding them in a while. It was somewhat hard getting away from the island until a merchant ship happened across there to.. what were they doing again? Oh well, it didn't really matter any more. All she could remember now was that she cooked great meals for them since their chef had gotten food poisoning, so after that no one was willing to eat his food. In return, she was transported anywhere she wanted (and had access to all the rumors that were always present with merchant ships).
Most of the time, Miyako had been listening for signs of the Destiny Pirates. Nothing had come up for months until she finally heard a familiar name - Gerard Yagami. Miyako thought it strange that he had been caught by the Marines, but she supposed everyone made mistakes - this one seemed like a, well, a big mistake. Then she thought maybe this was her chance to save him.
That thought sounded completely insane as she walked through the Marine base, accompanied by a Marine. She'd stood outside their gate for a lonesome time before finally telling one of the guards she wanted to join the Marines. She could've sworn some Marines had begun to aim guns at her from windows, just in case she was there to attack or something. With all the Marines here though, she didn't think she could do anything to even leave a dent. Then the thought escaped: how were they going to get out once she'd 'rescued' him? She got nervous, and the Marine asked if she was okay.
"Y-Yes.. I just... I heard that my father was here.. Gerard Yagami?" The Marine frowned at her. "I-I um.. was wondering if I could, y'know, see him?.. I always told him he'd get into trouble, sort of an 'I told you so' deal.."
The girl sighed. It had worked, at least. The Marine told her, of course, he shouldn't, but he took her to the cells, seemingly in the pit of the base. It made sense, though - putting prisoners deeper inside the base made it less likely for them to escape.
Miyako didn't even have to think twice when she saw Gerard in a cell - surely there was kairoseki in the cell walls or cuffs on him. As the Marine left, Miyako made sure he was gone before speaking to her captain - former or not, she would still see him that way. She smiled at the man warmly and somewhat more dangerously than he would be able to remember. "Hello, Yagami-san. How have you been?"
