A Gathering of Light: Shining Pirates Assemble!

After sailing in a northeasterly direction for two days since Leonard and Kusatta had met Brandon the penguin. After having finished eating through the giant shark that very morning Leo began to worry about food as well as for his first mates arm. The dino-man was in dire need of medical attention so the captain set the ship towards the closest island from the Empire which ironically was technically part of said empire. So it was with that the shore of Nuovo Romano came into sight illuminated by the light of the mid-day sun and a cool wind gently pushing the boat to it's destination.

As the upstart pirate crew reach the port it really hit Leo how different this place was from other island he visited. the buildings were taller and made of red bricks with smoke coming out most of them. Paddle ships outnumbered the usual sailing ships, some even appeared to be a combination of both. As for the people themselves they seemed okay, mostly dressed in darker clothing most likely as to avoid staining colored or white clothes with soot from the coal that is used to produce the steam necessary for the local machinery to function.

Stepping off of the boat the Captain tied it down to the dock with some rope then helped Kusatta and Brandon off as well. Once all three were on firm ground again Leo spoke to explain their next course of action. "The first thing we need to do is to find you a doctor, Kusa. Once you're all fixed up I think we'll really need some supply that can last us a long while. So mostly dried food and a lot of drinkable water." Glancing at the small boat Leo did realize that having a large amount of supplies came with another problem. So with a sigh the captain continued speaking. "But if we're going to transport all of that we'll have to get a proper ship. So I guess that settles the order of priorities for now. Find a doctor for you, inquire about what ship we could get and how much supply we'll be able to transport thereafter."

Considering that fairly one sided discussion settled Leo began to walk towards the inside of the city of Augusteria the pirate captain remembered something. "Ah! I almost forgot! Try and avoid mentioning the attack on Marius or whole pirate thing here. This is technically a part of the empire. Just be careful and everything should be fine guys." Then looking solely at Brandon Leo added "Also avoid the turning into paper thing, it may attract unwanted attention. Got it?" After waiting for the penguin's answer the three began to walk into the port city in search of a doctor.

With a exhausted groan, Kage managed to pull himself up onto the docks of the city. The water clung to his slick skin and clothing, but it was slowly leaving him to leak down and be absorbed by the wooden docks. The dock either absorbed the water, or simply let it sink between the cracks of it. Kage rubbed his head slowly, his arms and legs where so very sore. Even with using the current, the distance from the last island was way more then the fishman had planned for.

His belly growled as he smelled some sort of cooked food from inside the city. Although Kage ate fish, he had acquired a absolute love of cooked meats. After escaping from the slave trade, he had found the wonderful world of food. With his size, he could eat a lot too! Smacking his large webbed hands together, Kage stood up and walked into the city. His first few steps were less then graceful. His huge form stumbled along the docks for several moments. However, he quickly re-adapted to the land.

He walked through the city, stopping suddenly as he caught the scent of blood. Kage turned to see a small docked vessel that appeared to be abandoned for the moment. He almost wanted to check it out, but his common sense prevented him from moving forward. He shook his head with a grumbling sigh and vanished into the city. He kept himself in the back alleys, he had no idea how the townspeople would react to seeing such a large fishman. Humans weren't exactly to understanding about animals they knew little about. Plus, Kage still was technically an escaped slave since such charges never ended. He had a little bit of money, and walked silently though the town. He made sure to keep his shirt buttoned up so his brand mark was well hidden.

He paused when he saw a penguin. The shark was instantly confused, and rubbed his head. Penguins lived in the cold didn't they? After noticing the penguin, he started to notice the people around it. One of them smelled stressed, such an unusual smell, but a predatory fishman had no problem picking up such a scent. He also smelled blood, the same sort of blood that he smelled by the boat. Surely these people were connected to the small vessel. Kage began to wonder about this usual group, they seemed to stick out among the crowd around them. "Very strange these ones...", Kage muttered to himself. Such time in isolation sometimes caused unusual breaks between himself and reality. For example, he considered himself his best friend.

“1! 2! A 1, 2, 3, 4!” The chaotic piece of ‘music’ that would ensue from such a lively shout would be some of the worst and most horrific sounds the fine people of Nuovo Romanum would be forced to suffer through. Before them on a dingy stage in a hole-in-the-wall bar, both literally and figuratively, stood an odd sight. On stage was a strange lizard looking creature who had many basic traits—a tail and scales of course—even opposable thumbs. Crazier was the size of this massive beast, the stage creaking and groaning under the stress of his weight, and the frilled head and dual horns he sported on it. Yet the most outlandish thing about the creature no one recognized to be reminiscent of a Triceratops—in their defense, most people didn’t know about fossils and pre-historic animals—was that it was playing, rather terribly, a guitar. It played obnoxiously loud and wild as its frilled head smashed forward sporadically and it bobbed about on stage.

This thick-skulled ‘guitarist’ was the infamous “Jurassic Rocker”, Balder Albans! Like every time he played a show, his thick-headedness would proof to be advantageous against the multiple bottles that would rain down upon his head and body, each largely going unnoticed. He was in his classic Rock Trance, something his teacher Oz taught him and often times displayed for him, although Balder was far livelier in the trance than the lazy aged rocker. However, one stray bottle soaring slightly too low and collided with the hand he was currently using to strum with was all it took to break that focus. His eyes shot open and quick as a flash, he was off the stage and crashing through the table of the bottle-throwing offender. “Balder Dash! Don’t you dare harm my baby, the Balder Bass! Tis a mighty weapon from which great rock is created! Don’t dirty it with your cheap alcohol and weak sense of true rock!!”

Needless to say, that was one less bar Balder would frequent, but it was for the best; those cretins had no idea what rock was! However, there were more than anti-Balder fans in that dingy, now two-holes-in-a-wall, bar. Two shadowy figures in the back of the bar eyed Balder’s retreat with great intrigue, chattering away between each other. “Is that him?” A frail young voice chimed out from beneath his hood. “Must be, you heard what he said and saw what he is!” A more grizzled tone spoke up, clearly annoyed by the other’s doubts. “Right, right. No loose ends.” And with a quick shuffle of chairs, the smaller and much larger cloaked individuals that hide in the corner of the bar began to follow after the fleeting dinosaur.

They had eaten the rest of the shark for dinner and breakfast and were now needed something else to eat. The new Chef tried to catch some fish with his dagger, but failed due to him having only one arm, not being able to touch the water and the fish being too quick.


Around noon, they finally saw land. This city was truly a sight to behold.
Clouds of steam and vapor shot out of every orifice a building had to offer, creating a white roof of clouds above the city. Red bricks piled up everywhere, building the houses the citizens lived in. Kusatta, who only knew the white streets of the Empire, had quite a culture shock. Screeching sounds of the machines added to the already confusing noises big cities usually come with. Life on the island seemed a lot easier for these people, this technology was able to provide them with machines that could transport goods from one place to the next, a little thing, but it eased the every day life so much!
One paddle ship after another was lined up at the port. Kusatta liked this kind of vessels, they looked strong and heavy. Mostly, they were made of metal, unlike most of the normal wooden ships Kusatta had seen before. That gave him an idea. Armor like that couldn't just be put on ships, he himself was thinking about getting some protection. Afterall, his main problem was the big walking target he became once he was in his Dino form. If he would manage to cover that up, he would be even stronger than before.

They got off the boat and Leo held a speech about what to to next, including getting the First Mate to a doctor, aquire an actual ship and grabbing some food for the journey.
"I need to get something to wear now too.", Kusatta said. Now that he could, he wanted to get rid of his old potato sack. "Also I might get myself some armor, so this", he pointed at his dead arm "doesn't happen again."

They walked around town, looking for some goods. People started looking, a penguin, a samurai and a beggar sure were an odd bunch. Walking by an armory, Kusatta noticed the weaponry he could get here. One was an awesome flamethrower-shaped thing, that, according to the man who advertised it, blew hot steam in the face of enemies. He'd keep in mind to get it once his arm was cared for.

The population of the island was mostly human, wearing the same clothes Kusatta knew from his hometown. Yet, a few streets further, he noticed a large purple fishman walking around, just as confused about the crew as everybody else was. As they walked past each other, the fishman muttered something about them being strange. He was one to talk, wasn't he?

A lover of fish by nature, the plump form of Brandon had certainly enjoyed the previous two days worth of meal; whether his human companions had done so as well was something he did not know. Humans had strange tastes in food, often changing dietary habits for no apparent reason. Apparently they could become 'bored' of the taste of particular foods? Still, at least the trio was fed, that was the important thing. But for now, they had greater priorities; finding a doctor to tend to the injured arm of the scruffy 'cook' was amongst the highest of these.

As the boat docked, Leo was the first to set foot on land, the new captain possessed all the leadership qualities one would look for, though perhaps not as developed as a crewman might like. Kusatta followed as Brandon hopped off the side of the vessel and stumbled onto land, the firmness of the island beneath his little feet was strangely welcoming to a bird that used to be at home in the water. Glancing around readily, the penguin observed the activity of the bipeds who dwelt on this unknown land, his captain listing the current priorities of medical attention, transport and supplies.

"Kukaa!" Saluting in a very much 'yessir' human manner, one flipper wing rose to the head of the proud little penguin as he confirmed his loyalty to his captain. After the previous incident, Brandon did not intend to make too much use of his Oru Oru power at present; nearly drowning was one thing, but getting carried around unpredictably by the wind was often a terrifying experience. That said, the folding fowl knew how to use it to his advantage, he just needed to be prepared for it.

Now strolling through the town, the current line up of the pirate crew certainly looked like something out of a comedy sketch; a samurai, a beggar and a penguin. For every two or three strides his human friends took, Brandon had to take four or five times that many; despite lagging somewhat, he was at least able to stay with the flock. That said, the observant avian noticed other peculiarities around him, the presence of a 'human fish' being one of the most unusual.

Let us see what awaits us in this town

Ugh. In a barely floating raft, the young doctor sat against the wall. She had been adrift for days, waiting to hit land somewhere. After the failed fun in Amino Island, Hiroto decided to bail out and run for it. Although she wondered what had happened to the dog boy... what was his name? Sora? Yeah. Something like that. Regardless, she felt like she needed to go elsewhere, she didn't feel like her sense of adventure would work.

Exhaling, she closed her eyes for a moment, drifting in her mind as the raft was drifting in the sea. What to do, what to do... Well. She would have to get to an island. Once to an island, she could restock on supplies. Her medical supplies would definitely need to be checked, she would need ammo and cleaning supplies, along with food. Perhaps some clothes and new books would be on her list if she had enough money.

She felt the raft hit something, causing her to let a shriek before sitting up. Blinking, she realized she had ran into a boat... wait. boat? Lifting herself up, a smile reached her. She had hit land! Well, she had hit a boat, but it was proof that there was land in front of her! Scrambling out of the raft and onto the port, she seemed to collapse. "Ah. Sweet, sweet land. How I missed you so.." She muttered to herself. Hiroto lay there for a moment, before her stomach let out a small growl. Ah, she needed food. When was the last time she had eaten? Shrugging her shoulders to her own question, the young archer pushed herself up and began to walk through the streets. Maybe something sweet would be good...

The town seemed to be doing well for itself, it seemed lively enough that was for sure. However, the archer kept getting side tracked. There was so much around! Bookstores, an armory, a penguin, a cafe, a bar... wait a minute, a penguin? As her eyes followed the bird, her mouth opened slightly. What was a penguin doing here... they were better off in colder weather with their own kind... not with... humans? It looked like a samurai and a beggar. Her body tensed when she saw the beggar though. Was his arm broken? Or was it wounded? If it was broken, the set didn't seem to be doing well.

Really, the teenager should have remembered her mothers words. 'People are scary. Not all of them can be trusted.' Yet... well, they didn't seem too bad. Hey, a penguin was traveling with them, how bad could they be right? Swallowing a bit, the teen half walked half jogged to the trio, finding her voice, "Uh, wait, excuse me?" She half whispered, before clearing her throat, "Excuse me." She spoke louder, hoping to catch their attention. "Uh, you don't know me, and well I don't know you guys either, but uh, what happened to your arm? Is it broken?" She asked, pointing to the wounded mans arm. It was strange, a complete stranger asking about someone's injury. Yet... what if it wasn't broken? What if the deadness in this person's arm had been caused by some disease she had never heard of? Why would she let that pass up?

Walking down the cobbled streets, with each step resonating through the busy streets where dozens of people were walking up and down the alleys of city, some with purpose some without, the small group seemed to attract a good few stares. Most of the locals looked at the pirates suspiciously but those were not the ones that attracted Leo's own attention, much stranger was the sight of a fishman. That was quite a rare sight in these parts, but the swordsman did not know if the humanoid shark was hostile or not. So Leo simply glanced at him occasionally, surely he would reveal himself eventually. Even if he did not as long as he did not try harm Kusatta or Brandon the young captain did not care if he was being watched.

As they walked Kusatta made a comment about getting some clothes and possibly some armor. While the captain didn't have any particular opinion on Kusatta wearing some armor, finding clothes was indeed a good idea as the first mate's less than usual get up was certainly not helping the whole inconspicuous aspect of the crew, but neither did the penguin and in all honesty Leo's own nodachi was not a usual weapon to carry around nor was it something that could just be hidden away on his person. "I think that's a great idea Kusatta. Maybe you should take Brandon with you later to try something for him as well. You two do stand out quite a bit right now." Said Leo as the grouped kept on walking, but even as they did the swordsman did not lose his focus away from the sharkman.

However Leo's attention was quite suddenly taken away from the Fishman by a the voice of a young woman. Turning around the young man was greeted by the sight of lovely young woman, she was quite small and must have been around Leo's own age, maybe a little a younger. Harmless would have been a fit definition for her the swordsman first thought if it wasn't for her carrying a gun and a bow. Unusual choices but everyone needed to be able to protect themselves nowadays. Politely smiling at the young woman Leo put his right hand on his heart and bowed slightly. "Indeed my friend's arm is broken, but may I ask why are you asking us such a question and who you are?" The captain said after raising his head. He tried to remain polite and courteous. As he had said before now was not the time, nor place to make a scene. If the authorities started actively looking for the upstart pirates now it would cause a lot of trouble later on.

As he walked away, he felt the swordman's eyes on him. He began to get uneasy, really uneasy. He had no idea who those people were. They may even be bounty hunter who have nothing wrong with returning a slave to it's masters. The very thought of being dragged back was enough to twist Kage's happy smile into a vicious look. He never turned to look at them, but people around him started to move further away from him. No one was about to get in the way of a shark who very well might go on a rampage. Although that was not Kage's style, reckless mayhem, so he ducked into a small bar.

The bar was darkly lit, with a thick cloud of smoke circling a fan with only three blades, the other 2 seemed to have been torn off. The whole bar was sort of decaying, the bar itself was sagging because of wood rot. There was only a handful of customers, and none seemed to nice. However, Kage wasn't here for the company, and took up a spot at the bar. He ordered some chicken, and a nice pint of beer. The thought of the combination already had his mouth watering. Although, that odd group of people still clouded his mind.

He wondered why they had a penguin, why they smelled like blood, why the swordsmen sent his skin on edge with just a look. He was deep in thought, and nearly jumped when his order came out. The waitress was a beautiful young girl with red hair, and emerald on. Cute little freckles covered her face. She seemed to be the only light in the dusty and drab bar.

"I haven't seen someone like you before", she said with a small smile. and leaned against the bar. Kage looked at her and shrugged, "I'm a fishman. But then again....I haven't seen any in a very long time either." The last time he saw other fishman was while he was being auctioned off the last time. There was an octopus, and an angle fish mermaid. Pushing that though from his mind, he started to eat. Being a shark, he didn't even bother to eat around the bone, he chomped down on the cooked chicken, bones and all. His powerful jaws made quick work of the thin avian bones.

As he ate, a large man came up behind the cute waitress and started to mess with her. He kept touching her and whistling and making crude and very inappropriate comments. The man wouldn't stop messing with her, even when she asked him to stop many times. Kage finished off his chicken and began to drink his beer. Taking it all down in one huge gulp.

"Come on baby~ Come back to my place", he grinned. "STOP!", she pleaded one last time. Slowly, Kage stood up and grabbed the man's hand which was on the waitress's shoulder. "She has given you more then enough reasons to leave her alone. I suggest you walk away from this before you regret it.", he warned. The man laughed, "What are you going to do fish stick!?"

Kage snarled and grabbed the man by his throat, and with all his strength he threw the man at the wall. The hoodlum flew across the bar, and smashed through the large bay window, rolling into the street. Kage looked at the shocked waitress, "I will fix that. I worked as a carpenter", he promised as he fallowed the man out the window. The citizens circled around excited to see some action. KAge jumped out the window and the man stood up. "So much for staying low". Kage sighed to himself as he pulled out his harpoon sword.

The bustling streets of Nuovo Romano were filled with jolly people, hearty laughter and fantastical goods never seen anywhere else across the Blues, yet it did nothing to lessen Balder’s mood. He was trudging along with a sour grimace plastered on his face, thoroughly saddened by the state of this island. To the average person, this island seemed like a paradise of technology, ease and comfort, and the many notable beauties that frequented the cobblestone roads and many young suitors’ eyes. This was not the case for Balder. While he thought that steam technology was ‘pretty rockin’, there was hardly anything else to note about this particular island. Worst of all, there was hardly a bar that fit Balder’s profile as a rocker! All these clean, unbroken and no-holes-in-a-wall pubs were thoroughly depressing the wild child “rising star”. He had to find somewhere to play and fast!

He continued upon his path, his soul crying for one thing—to play at the dingiest bar on this island to the sound of cheers and applause—and he would be damned if he was kept from his destiny. Unbeknownst to Balder, he wasn’t the only walking along his path. Two cloaked figures continued their pursuit of the Jurassic Rocker. The taller of the duo whispered towards his shorter compatriot “Micah, strike now.” The young boy complied with his orders and darted forward to catch up to Balder. He weaved in between the throngs of people upon the main streets of Augusteria effortlessly and was almost upon the disgruntled guitarist when the sound of breaking glass drew both Balder and the hooded boy’s attention.

Out from the window of a nearby bar haphazardly flew a drunkard into the streets who was followed by a burly Fishman. The Shark-man by the looks of it was drawing some unique looking sword, and was clearly about to see some harm done to the poor drunken fool on the ground. Balder watched the scene unfold with stars in his eyes. “RAHAHAHAHAHA! This place rocks!” he shouted out, his spirits skyrocketing from the spontaneous scene before him. Only the most rocking of bar would have wild fights that poured out into the streets via breaking windows, or so Balder surmised. Giddy was an understatement to how the rocker felt, who had already transformed into his Hybrid form and rushed into the dingy bar that would be his next stage.

Micah stood there surprised by what an odd scene had just occurred but was slowly dreading his companions approach as he could hear heavy footfall behind him. He turned around, expecting to be reprimanded for his failure but instead was met by a fair gentler hand than he was used to. The boy looked up and observed the unusual smile on his mentors face. He spoke up “B-but Captain, I failed to stop the subject for apprehension.” The large man merely continued to pat the boy on the head, “That’s true, and I will reprimand you for failing on that command, but later. We have the target just where we want him.” He paused as he looked up at the bar’s only entrance and smiled evilly from ear to ear, “We have him cornered.”

Here was another weird one. Did he miss something? He knew very well how people treated wounded strangers in his world very well, and that was definetly not it.
Kaito at least had a reason to approach them, he had been alone in the middle of nowhere. This one seemed simply interested in what had happened to him. Immediatly, his old survival instincts kicked in.

She didn't look dangerous, that was for sure. Relatively young, though probably older than Kusatta himself. There was no way she was from around the empire, her outfit looked like nothing he had ever seen, purple and blue were dominant colours there and it looked rather more comfortable than practicable. Thus, she couldn't be from around here. Kusatta had heard of how the Empire used to deal with criminals, they usually were hunted down by payed specialists that would be able to strike quietly without raising too much attention. For their attack on Marius, something like that could definetly be expected. But that girl in front of him didn't look at all like someone who was from around the Empire, so the possibility of payed assassin could be ruled out.
Yet, she had a dangerous looking weapon on her back, a highly advanced looking bow. For a moment, Kusatta got suspicious again, then he remembered that she would hardly come up so close to them if she planned anything like shooting them down.

Then it came to him. Doctors. Doctors were people that offered their help for money. Since Kusatta didn't have any money at all since he could remember, he never really came in contact with one and only knew that richer people frequented them from time to time. That was why that idea didn't notice that possibilty at first.
A few days ago, he wouldn't have trusted anyone to get near this wound, but after meeting the Shining Pirates, he had learned that there were people in the world who just helped others because they were kind.
And he did need help. His arm started to really hurt, someone who could heal the broken bones was definetly needed. And with a wound like this, making use of his powers was impossible, he was in no condition to fight. Before the girl could answer Leo's question, he stepped in.

"Yes, I broke my arm in a fight . If you can heal it, we could give you money or whatever you want." Keeping in mind what the captain had been saying about not causing a scene, he added "We need someone to keep quiet about this."

As his captain made a sudden stop to turn, it was a miracle that Brandon avoided crashing into his legs, stumbling back a little and peering up at Leo with beady eyes. There was not shortage of sights and sounds to distract the curious critter, and the people also seemed to be taking interested or confused glances at him; certainly it was unusual to see a penguin in the North Blue, their presence almost exclusive to the South. That said, even Brandon himself had no clue just how far the storms had carried him over the last few weeks. He was simply glad to be back on dry land.

At relative speed, at least in comparison to his own pace, a female human with head fur the colour of lavender approached the group. Judging by a few choice words which he managed to pick out of the sounds she made, the papery penguin deduced that she was inquiring about the injured arm of his crippled companion. Ruffling his feathers, Brandon stared at the girl, flapping his wings a little. To be honest, he was unsure how to react. The harsh rules of nature dictated that any weakened animal would most likely become easy prey for an opportunistic predator, but at the same time, human nature was drastically different.

"Kuua?" Inquisitive as always, the folding fowl took the opportunity to investigate, keeping a few feet between himself and the female as he circled around her. A trick he had learned when just a chick, Brandon knew it was best to study a potential predator while they were distracted, lest he become the prey. Perhaps his caution was just a result of natures ways? Generally, the female of the species was always the more aggressive and opportunistic, but he was unsure of whether or not that applied to humans. After all, humans always seemed to form a tightly knit community; not unlike his own kind.

"Oa? Oa?" Deciding to take the initiative, the adventurous avian stepped closer to examine the strange stripes on her hind limbs. Perhaps a display to attract a potential mate? Perhaps some form of camouflage? The alternating shades of light and dark purple certainly matched the rest of her coat; but it seemed a little garish in comparison to his own monochromatic colour scheme. Then it dawned on him. Humans were terrestrial mammals, prone to migrating far more than was necessary; maybe this female originated from a land where such colours were commonplace? Yes, that must be it. He considered possibilities as the humans conversed, taking the time to preen the feathers beneath his neckerchief.

They all looked at her strangely. It took Hiroto a moment or two to realize why. She didn't look like a local. with her attire she realized that it must have looked different. Although it didn't bother her much. She smiled a bit, "Ah, I forgot my manners didn't I? The name is Hiroto Shiaru. Nice to meet you all." She spoke never breaking her smile from that of an innocent bystander. When the boy with the injured arm explained that it was merely broken, it caused a slight pout to form on her lips. Nothing out of the ordinary then. Hm. Well, at least she could easily fix the arm then. With the proposal of money, the archer only gave a confused look. Never had Hiroto charged money for her services. Usually she would trade or ask for food. However, this trio looked like they didn't have anything to trade or even give her food.

Her eyes, however, drifted downwards as the penguin started to circle her, making strange noises before finally stopping in front of her. Chuckling, the young doctor crouched down, looking at the penguin, "You're just so adorable, don't worry, I'm not harmful. I only use the strange things on my back when someone tries to hurt me." She reached out, wanting to pet the cute bird, before looking to the two, "How about we go somewhere where I can take a better look at the arm?" She asked, after standing up. "I won't ask for any money, consider this on the house. You guys look like you've had it rough anyway. If you don't mind me asking, why were you fighting? Are you guys pirates or something?" She realized what she asked, before scratching the back of her head, laughing a bit, "Aw man, that was really blunt wasn't it? Sorry, sorry. It doesn't matter what you guys are, I do need to know how you got the injury specifically, it'll help me treat it better."

As she waited for the reply, her eyes looked around, scanning for a more suitable place to work on the arm. All ready her mind was wielding on what would need to be done. if it had been broken for too long and not set right, she might have to re-break the arm and reset it correctly. Her eyes set on a small bar. "How about we go to the bar? It'll be dark enough not to draw too much attention, and I can get some food. I'm starving." As if on cue, her stomach let out a small growl, almost scolding her for not feeding it any sooner.

“I will be leaving then”, he said as he walked out the workshop. It had been a few weeks, hikaru had sailed to the north blue because of it’s steam technology, he wanted to learn the perks of this technology, being a shipwright it would prove useful. Working at a local shipyard, he was done with his work, so he collected his pay which was enough to pay for his food and left for his favorite bar. He was in the mood for Ramen again.



Dressed in his black colored suit, he walked in the streets for a few minutes, all the while smoking his favorite brand of cigarette. His revolvers, resting underneath his coat, invisible to the normal eyes and a bag on his back that had his beloved and trusted sniper. Smoking the last puffs of his current cigarette, he stopped at the door, the air that blew had something different about it today. He just couldn’t put his finger on it, may be it was just his minds playing tricks again? May be not.



He walked in, and sat in his corner, ordering a bowl of Ramen. The bar wasn’t the best in the island, it was a little bar, most likely it was in it’s last years. But he wasn’t here for the scenery, the cook here cooked pretty good ramen and that’s what mattered. He had only been sitting there a little while when he saw a fishman walk in. Not a usual sight indeed, normally a fishman meant trouble but a single fishman wouldn’t do something that would lead to trouble. Or so he thought, before his order could be delivered he saw a man teasing the waitress, before he could actually do something about it, to his surprise the fishman threw the poor drunk outside the building. “Oh boy..” he thought, smoking another cigarette he had just lit.



As the fishman followed the man, Hikaru thought he should follow but then again he didn’t feel it should be necessary. His order was a bit late, but he wasn’t in a hurry, “umm excuse..” before he could finish his sentence, he saw a giant dino hybrid running into the bar. “what the..?” things were way too abnormal today. The addition of strangers in the bar, just put him more at unease, waving at the waitress he reminded her of his order. She nodded, heading into the kitchen. Seated in his own dark little corner, with his sniper bag at his side he waited, all the while continuously smoking.

Well that was... awkward to say the least. With a stern look only put on to hide his amusement at the ridiculousness of the situation, Leo turned towards Kussata. "You really need to work on your people skills you know that?" Yet it could be seen that in the little time they had spent together Kussata had already begun to try and slowly open up. It's just that he didn't really know how to express his feelings, other than contempt of course. Once again facing the girl, an introduction felt required. "It's a pleasure to meet you Hiroto-san. My name is Leonard Le Clerc, the awkward injured guy is Kussata and this little guy." said Leo as he picked up Brandon and placed him on the captain's left shoulder whilst still holding the seabird with his left arm so that it wouldn't fall. "Is Brandon the Penguin." Of course a smile was kept throughout the presentation as a way to remain polite.

As Hiroto pointed out they needed to find a goo place to set Kusatta's arm straight again. Looking around gave few options, so the captain decided on the closest bar off on a side alleyway of the main street of the town. Leading the way in, still carrying Brandon, Leo was confronted by a most strange sight as he nonchalantly walked into the bar. A broken window with the Fishman he saw earlier climbing out of it, a dinosaur human hybrid that felt familiar as the sight was not completely new thanks to Kussata, however the Dinosaure in question was very different from the first mate's and a bunch of customer's that looked just as confused as the swordsman was. Waiting a minute in silence to take in the sight a sigh made itself heard from Leo's mouth after which he spoke in the direction of the barman. "Mind if we use a table for a while? We'll buy something to eat and drink as well of course." After the barman gave the strange group a quick once over he simply said, "Help yourselves." and went back to his business. The rag-tag bunch then sat around the table at which point Leo put down Brandon on a chair next to him and began to wait for Hiroto to fix up Kussata to the best of her abilities.

Kage strolled out of the window and onto the street. He noticed the lizard zoan, and wanted to examine him further, but now, he had a mission. The fishman had wanted to live a quiet life here, a simple life witohut conflict. Sadly, it seemed that the only company that fallowed at Kage's heels were dismay and misfortune. Hell, the fishman wondered if he was cursed. Looking around, he couldn't help but notice the huge crowd gathering. He had to finish this fast and hide before any bounty hunters caught up to him.

By now, the man was getting up and looked really displeased. He pulled out a huge katana. "HOW DARE YOU!!! I'LL MAKE YOU INTO FISHSTICKS!!", he shouted. Kage just snorted softly, as the man charged at him. The drunken man didn't seem to be very good with a sword. Kage dodged left as the man jabbed wildly with his sword. Kage gripped his harpoon sword and drew it in a flash. The two swords clashed, sparks exploded from the two swords. Kage's blue/black harpoon sword was four times the size of the man's flimsy little katana. Kage pulled his harpoon back, and slammed it down at the man once more. The man blocked, but he would alter wish he didn't. After the second clash, the man's katana broke, and the tip was sent flying. Kage chuckled, "My harpoon sword, and my strength made child's play out of your little sword. Maybe next time put some real care into selecting a weapon. Where did you get that sword? A cereal box?", Kage's eyes were wild and vicious.

Kage grabbed the man by his hair and yanked him off the ground. "I'm not going to kill you. I'm going to beat the pervert out of you. Then, your going to go apologize. And then, you'll help me fix up the bar!", the fishman snarled. Kage might be a escaped slave, but he always made good on his word. So, the fishman commenced to beating the crook within and inch of his life. Kage's powerful fist just crushed bone, and flesh with reach punch. In the end, it was hardly a fight at all. Kage chuckled as he stood up and dragged the man back inside the bar. Before going in he turned to the crowd and hissed at them. "NOTHING TO SEE HERE. GO AWAY!!!", he shouted. All at once the crowd disbanded, not wanting to get on his bad side.

Kage snorted and went bakc inside the bar with the man in tow. Kage dropped the man into a chair and whispered, "You better appologize to the nice lady. And appologize for the window. That was a result of your arrogence. Also, tell her you'll be fixing the bar.", Kage plopped down next to the man. Kage's blue hands were stained red, but the fishman hardly cared.

The man trembled and found the waitress, "I-I'm sorry for everything. It-it was all my fault...a-and I'm going to f-fix the window", the man stammered the sentence out. His voice trembled, just like he did. Kage's shark eyes didn't blink as he glared at the man. Satisfied, Kage let himself calm down and go back to his calm self. It was then he noticed the people from before, more importantly, the cute penguin. Kage grinned with excitement, the penguin was so cute!!!
