Name of Island: Death Island
Size of Island: 400 kilometers wide
Location: South Blue
Climatic Type: Spring
Climate: Powerful and unpredictable winds constantly thrash around the island. From time to time, it will rain, providing a source of water for the rivers, trees, and plants.
Flora
Lush and green grass spread across the outer coast of the island. 60-70 meters tall trees concentrated in a deep jungle, strongly rooted against the powerful winds. The jungle is filled with poisonous and non-poisonous plants along with poisonous mushrooms. If one eats or inhales these mushrooms, they will spend the next hour, laughing, often dying from suffocation. It’s an interesting tool for the monkeys to use. Vines grow along the walls in The Phantom Labyrinth where its petals glow blue in the dark. This plant may only grow in darkness, and it will die under sunlight.
Fauna
Sickle-Tailed Monkeys: Mischievous gang of monkeys rules over the treetops that will pull all sorts of pranks to any human who dares enter their territory. These agile, acrobatic monkeys are highly intelligent and persistent, smart enough to set traps, observe their victim’s strengths and weaknesses, and worst of all, displaying excellent teamwork with each other. In combat, they’re armed with razor sharp claws and large sickle-shaped claw at the tip of their tails. Whenever their mischievous plots end up successful, they end up snickering in the most annoying manner.
Blood Eaters: A hybrid of snakes and worms, these creatures lurks underground, beneath grasslands. They’re not venomous, but they tend to pierce their fangs into any creatures on the surface to suck their blood out. These 20-30 meter long creatures tend to be a swordsman’s worst enemy because when slayed in half, the body will instantly regenerate into two identical creatures just like a worm. The more one slice these creatures down, the more they will multiply. The only spot that will kill these creatures is stabbing into their brains or their hearts, however the heart is not easy to locate. As big as they may appear, they are also blindly fast. They can easily dig through tunnels underground with great speed.
Poisonous Flying Squirrels: Flying Squirrels that often glide through the sky from tree to tree. Despite how small and cute they may appear, their fur contains poison that will paralyze any creature that touches them. Even the monkeys aren’t foolish enough to touch them. Thieving Vulture are their predators.
Giant Spiders: Living in the caves of the mountain, these hideously huge arachnids had dug a network of tunnels within the mountain. Any human or animal that enter shall eventually be entangled in webs. These spiders prefer to eat their meals alive.
Thieving Vulture: These are a species of vultures that has a tendency to steal belongings of other creatures and humans, and they take the stolen items to their homes, located at the very tip of the mountain. Despite the strong winds, the vultures are still able to fly efficiently, sometimes taking advantage of the wind/air current to fly faster. What makes these birds feared is that these birds possess both vision and echolocation. By emitting high frequencies from all over their bodies, they can detect their surroundings just like bats, except with a 360 degree field. This makes ‘being unnoticed’ extremely hard. These creatures are immune to the poison of the Flying Squirrels as they feast upon them as part of their diet.
Town(s)/Village(s)/City or Cities:
Unnamed Jungle: A thick jungle spreads across the entire side of a mountain where mischievous monkeys roams around. The jungle contains lots of poisonous and non-poisonous plants. Quicksand is quite common as one explores deeper into the jungle.
Unnamed Mountain: A 7000 meters all mountain lies at a far end of the island, shaped like a ragged cone. Those who hike here will see many holes, entrances to a cave where the tunnels are all connected. These were created by hideous giant spiders. Anyone who dares to enter this cave will be trespassing on the territory of the giant spiders. These creatures will shoot web from their mouths and their butts at any foreign creature. The victims will soon find themselves restrained in a giant web, only to be eaten alive by the spiders.
Unnamed Rivers: A couple of river runs down from the tip of the mountain and down into the jungle. This is where the monkeys drink their water. The water is typically clean with no creatures living in it.
The Phantom Labyrinth: Long ago, humans had once constructed an underground labyrinth beneath the edge of the mountain where prisoners will wander aimlessly within a giant maze. If a prisoner managed to solve the maze, reaching the exit, then he or she shall be free of the crimes committed. The walls of the maze are made out of stone, covered with vines that grow only in the dark. Flowers on these vines will glow in the dark in bright blue, providing light for those who wander around. If one sniffs the pollen of the flower up close, one shall hallucinate and start seeing things for half an hour. It is called The Phantom Labyrinth because those who hallucinate often see ghosts and fake walls that aren’t actually there. Skeletons of the dead prisoners can be found place to place in the maze.
Island History: Humans had once inhabited this beautiful island hundreds of years ago. They lived mostly in the jungle, knowledgeable of the plants that may be used to treat illnesses. Rules were established among them, and anyone who breaks a serious rule would be punished. The Phantom Labyrinth took several years to build, and it was a location that many do not speak of. It was a place where rule breakers or bad pirates were sent to. Almost none of them had ever managed to solve the maze. During construction, the builders planted premature vines, founded in the darkest part of the jungle. These vines cling onto the walls, as their glowing flowers produce pollen that causes hallucination to those who sniffs it.
Everything was peaceful back then where humans and the animals lived in peace. However, when the humans began to grow in population, they took up more and more territory. When that happened, the monkeys grew more and more cramped in their restricted area. One day, the monkeys formed a rebellious group as they tore down the majority of humans on the island. They slashed through flesh, knocked down homes, and killed off the humans.
Run as much as they can, the humans barely stood a chance against the monkeys. They fell into several traps, sank into quicksand, and died from the mushrooms. These monkeys pulled off hundreds of pranks. Not only did they kill off the humans, they enjoyed it! After generations, these monkeys saw humans as a way to entertain them. They grew touchy about their territory being taken over, so they tormented any campers or explorers who set foot in the jungle.
Less than ten percent of the human population remained after the massacre as they were driven out of the jungle. When a few humans hiked up the unexplored mountain, they went missing. As more brave humans went there to save the missing people, they discovered giant spiders inside the many caves.
Soon after, the remaining population of the humans died off in a horrible death, one way or another. Thus, the island was named Death Island. The Phantom Labyrinth was the only clue that archaeologists have that humans have once inhabited the island.
