It had been a fairly peaceful day in the Illusian capital, and as such, Cuomo Royale, a marine of a couple years now, had taken an early day and was now walking amongst the throngs of people who crowded the market streets. A soft smile was ever present on his lips as he looked back and forth from vendor to vendor, each one desperately trying to sell their wares to make the quota for the day. The little shops ranged from "potion" dealers to jewelry crafters and bakers to fishermen. For the few days that he had already been in the city, the market (as one could probably assume), was the busiest and liveliest part of the nation. People from all over the island bartered and bought from a variety of stands.
He strode through the streets wearing a sharp gray button down shirt, leaving only a couple of the top buttons undone. It was tucked into black slacks that were accompanied by shining black shoes. As he wasn't wearing his typical Marine attire, Cuomo was able to pass through the streets with much more interruption from the extra persistent merchant or two or three. He didn't mind however, after all he had come to the market to buy something, though he wasn't quite sure what it would be yet, but in reality, all he wanted to do for a while was sit and people watch. The busyness of everyday life was a surefire way of seeing much of the people's demeanor and how they related to each other. Hagglers, mothers, businessmen, children and a variety of other characters continually flooded the streets to keep the place busy and full of life. It was so loud that the normal clink of the two brightly silver chains Cuomo wore in loops attached to his waist weren’t even noticeable.
Finding an empty seat off to the side that would be perfect for his people watching, Cuomo took it and began to relax. He enjoyed himself when he was around people and as the Marine looked around, unnoticed by most, he only reassured himself that it was people that were the reason for justice and the law. Not because they were the ones to break it, but because it protected them from those that would break it and the potential harm that could come around if things were allowed to run rampant. The people were why and they would always remain why he was a Marine.
Cuomo would take his time in watching and relaxing for a few minutes.
