Quite the den of iniquity~? The brow of a beauty in a cape so dark it looked black piquing as she paused in the moonlight, Marienne Martell couldn't help but feel the corners of her mouth curl upward a little as she caught the sound of singing and laughter riding on the air toward her ears, and looked toward the run down locale from which it had come from. Standing before a site that had clearly seen better days, not only were windows cracked and one of the doors seeming to hang half way off the hinges, but one could readily see the 'standard' of the clientele who stumbled forth from it was not much better either.

Takes me back to my college years~? Folk seeming to wobble away from the place in an unsteady fashion which seemed to require the support from a friend or lover to stop them falling while others made for alleyways and the dock nearby in the hope of relieving their bladders, the air was rife with rebel spirit and perhaps what most of her rank would consider repugnance as well, but this raven couldn't help but feel a note of nostalgia as she continued onward and lifted her fingers to the hood she was wearing. After all, even with how polished as she looked now, that didn't mean she hadn't had some excitement in her youth, right?

Don't I seem out of place now, hm~? Moving away from that era in her life or at least wishing to appear that she had however, it was for this reason she wore the cape which wrapped around her and the hood that concealed her face, at least until she stepped inside that half broken doorway and removed it to get a proper view of the place. Or perhaps to allow the place to get a proper view of her.?
Oh~? What's the matter, boys~? Wasting little time in peeling the whole thing from her once she was inside and showing off the tight little cocktail dress and heels she was sporting beneath it, Marienne let her golden gaze was over the sea of revelry around her and would be a liar if she didn't get a little bit of a thrill even now when she spied eyes which were transfixed upon her, and folk pausing in whatever they were doing to enjoy what had been presented before them.

Never seen a lady taking a walk on the wild side, hm~? Certainly looking like she would have been quite a rare specimen in a place like this one, while there were plenty of women about none would have carried quite that sense of elegance and refinement which came so naturally to Miss Martell, and that was something not only which set her apart from the pack but was also something she was counting on.
“Good evening. Might I trouble you for a Gin and Tonic~?” Arriving this evening with every intention of exploiting how out of place she appeared to be, as she ordered a drink the dark delight knew that tonight was all about 'fishing' to see if she might land a fine prize, and didn't mind stepping out a little to gain it, or risking the dangers inherent to a place like this either, for that matter.

Arriving at a run down bar that is flush to the brim with rough sorts, Marienne is sporting a cloak and hood to hide her identity, but can't help but feel a note of nostalgia with the place before her. Recalling her spirited youth when she wanted little more than to rebel and indulge such reckless spirit in similar places, she heads inside and removes mantle. Showing off how out of place she looks as part of a gambit, she enjoys the stir her entrance causes and orders a drink.

With her hearty nature behind her, Mia was easily the type to join in a sea shanty or two at the bar. In a world of sailing and pirates, even on land those songs seemed more than pervasive. A few chiming instruments from travelling musicians or official entertainment where chiming in the background, but Mia’s primary focus was just on the flow of the tones, chuckling between the words as she struggled to keep up with a song she’d never personally learned before, but, at least the chorus was more than simple enough.

“Yohohohoooooo!~ Yohohohooohoooooo!~ Yohohohooooooo!~ Yohohohooooooo!~”

Mia didn’t have any grand, personal friends on this island, but making them in the midst of a sing along was easy enough, sat down in her own booth, swaying her flagon of ale about left and right to the sway of the song, chuckling happily to herself as she lowered it back to her lips for a sip with the ending of the chorus, as the un-recalled lyrics continued through the rest of the tavern. Her eyes idly drifted about the place. Even if she was enjoying the vibes, she didn’t think she’d be the kind to make long term friends with a lot of the people here… and… eh. Whatever. She was a travelling fighter at the end of the day, and she was happy enough with that life. So long as she sung to her own tune and got some good challenges in, she was more than happy.

Though… she’d always be a little happier with a beautiful dame on her arm, and one just happened to walk in… looking VERY out of place.

And it seemed Mia wasn’t the only person to notice…

She glanced about the bar, many still singing but a good amount falling into silence as they noticed the beauty walking in. Seeing her take a seat at the bar and asking for a gin and tonic. Mia could see that a few eyes seemed less than ‘pleasant’ as they examined her, and with an instinctual flow to her motions, Mia pushed out of her own booth, leaving half a drink behind, and moving in right next to the fair Femme, almost shoulder to shoulder with her as she put her own, mildly imposing stature for a woman, right next to the ogled lass.

“Fresh mug for me if ya don’t mind.” She tossed across her Beri, shooting the woman a half smile, not making a flirtatious move or the like, but moreso just trying to seem like a casual approacher. Her main instinct here was to make sure the beautiful lass didn’t seem like ‘easy pickins’.

“You're too kind, here…” Happy to think that the figure behind the bar had rustled up his cleanest glass in order to pour her combination into on account of her good looks, Marienne smiled at both the idea and the prompt service as she pulled a wad of bills from her purse, and then enacted the next phase of her 'damsel in distress' disguise.
“Whoops~!” Spilling an array of highly marked bills in front of herself clumsily as she continued in an effort to show off just how much she was carrying with her, the wealthy which squeaked with a false sense of surprise as the notes spill out in front of her, and then lazily picked them up with every intention of getting the thieves and bullies in the bar eyeing up the prize she carried with her.

“Gosh, maybe I should have stuck just to the tonic, hm~?” Left to play the innocent as she scratched her head once she had collected them back up and tucks the majority away in her purse, once she was done and had hopefully seemed to inspire interest from those around her all the more the black beauty beamed as she folded the last of her bills over, and then held it out for the face beyond the counter to collect.
“Keep the change.” Overpaying by no small degree as she only leaned harder into a spoiled rich girl routine which would help to assure those of minimal scruples that she was well outside her depth, Miss Martell continued to smile and bat her lashes before she swept her drink up into her long and well-manicured nails, and began to from it in spite of her comment a moment ago. Everything here was for the benefit of her audience, after all.

“Good evening.” That being said finding that she was having the time of her life playing the fool and pushing her hand back through those billowing black locks and let them ripple behind her back, as Marienne allowed that golden gaze to drift she found a blonde standing nearby who she couldn't help but feel intrigued by for one reason or another, and as such raised her glass to her happily.
“Quite the riot in here, isn't it~?” Shaking her head and flicking those coiling tresses all the more as through doing so so, she can't help but comment on the atmosphere as she looked the girl over, and couldn't help but note that she might have been exactly her type; fair haired, and with a measure of rowdiness about her image…

Mia hesitated a hair of a second when she was moving up to the bar, noticing that spilling of bills. The woman seemed rather elegant in her eyes, and while she played off the blunder politely and with a sense of class, Mia was… a hair suspicious of how it played out. She wasn’t a mastermind of deception herself but she liked to think she had a decent eye for con men and the like, given hunting the odd bounty and that for some spare cash could sometimes lead to some unnoficial ‘employers’ who wanted to have you over on the pay. Something just… felt off here. Though she didn’t have enough certainty to say what…

All the same, though perhaps with a hint more curiosity, she took her seat, and hunched a little harder over the bar. She tended to be more relaxed, but felt the need to tense her muscles in this environment all of a sudden. The out of place elegance of the lass beside her and the flash of money turned her from just a defensive wall against creeps to an impromptu bodyguard, even if she didn’t consciously recognize that face. “Evenin’” She simply replied at first, while waiting for a drink to fill her hand.

At the question she peeked around the bar as if she was seeing it for the first time, her gaze taking a more examinatory glance of the place. “Guess you could say that. Though I’d say the music stopped once you walked in. Guess a stunning lass like you brings everything to a halt huh?~”

“That’s sweet of you to say~” Certainly not the sort who would too eagerly turn away the compliment she was given by the blonde even if she wasn’t currently playing her routine and ever more so now, the dark delight found her smile curving a little bit more at the word ‘stunning’ which the stranger opted to use to describe her, and soon after Marienne shone with both a smile and her lashes batting for the young woman as she offered a note of gratitude for such a satisfying observation.
“Though gosh, if that happened, I can only imagine how loud it was before I stepped inside~?” Smiling as she wondered to herself whether this shapely soul was blowing smoke to charm her if she was telling the truth with how she had apparently stifled the crowd with her entrance, the ebony haired enchantress guessed that the truth was likely to lay somewhere between the two options, but where it sat was open to an amusing sense of speculation which she was happy to indulge as she decided to close the gap between them.

“Marina, by the way~?” Humming as she swept her drink into one hand and flicking her hair again as she shifted closer to the lass, once more Miss Martell showed how readily she found deceit coming to her as she offered a fake name for herself in an effort of introduction, and held out her hand along with it in a manner which was ladylike, and more than certain to be rather out of place in a venue like this one.
“Do you come here often, Miss…?” Meanwhile seeming to expect or at the very least hope that her fair haired fellow femme would be a bit more truthful with her than she was being, the ravishing raven inquired after the regularity of her fellow femme’s attendance to the venue, and also wished to have something to call her as well. After all, thus far she did seem like the best ‘talent’ in the place, didn’t she?

“Mmm. I’m sure imagining a cack-off-a-knee of sound isn’t too out of the wheelhouse of a woman like you.” She smirked, a hint of perverseness in her humor even as she butchered the pronunciation of a word a little out of her own vocabularic wheelhouse. Even now as she relaxed a bit she was keeping an eye about them, but with each passing moment she was growing more and more calm. Classy girls tended to be what she aimed herself towards afterall. The hard to get types way out of her league. Social class wise at least. No woman was out of her league physically in her eyes. So, with the beautiful distraction… it wasn’t too hard to start relaxing in the end.

Mia didn’t catch on to the fake name and, honestly unsure if she’d given hers yet, she was eager enough to offer her own. “Mia.” She gave, and with a beat as she sipped her drink, offered further- “Kearney.” With the lady like offer of the hand, Mia wasn’t so simple minded as to ignore it, taking it in a gentlemanly manner in contrast and smirking as she tried to be a little bold in kissing the back of her palm before letting her have it back, her grasp gentle so the woman could ‘recoil’ if that had not been her intention.

“It’s a fair enough watering hole, but if a woman like you is considering frequenting it I may have to come here a *Lot* more often. Clearly they’re upping their game. That or they like how much I drink and dragged you in as bait.” She offered with a sly wink, implying the woman before her was part of some odd, elaborate ploy to get her to keep drinking here. “You seem more than fresh faced to this kind of environment. Heck I don’t think a single place on this island looks like it should match you for all that… ‘air’? Vibes? Whatever ya call it.” She chuckled at herself. “What I’m saying is you look too good for this whole island let alone the bar. What brings ya here beyond the music?”
