After getting rid of that pesky little bug called Cro, Michael thought that his life could get back to normal. He didn´t believe he was lucky enough for that obnoxious dwarf to die on his little adventure with Gabriel, but still, a few calm weeks was exactly what he needed to put his life back to order. Shame he couldn´t get them.
It happened just two days after Cro´s departure. He was sitting in his office, going through some notes for the current case, when someone knocked on his door. Looking up from his work, he noticed Eve, her usual smile replaced by a worried expression.
“Mr. Campbell, I am sorry to disturb you, but there is a marine officer looking for you.”
The lawyer frowned. As far as Loguetown´s base was concerned, he knew several of its officers personally, but in most cases, their relationship couldn´t be described as good by any stretch of the imagination. He was a lawyer after all so this could be expected, but beyond that, there was also the fact, that he was a serial killer with a very long body count to his name, a reckless serial killer at least during these past few weeks, so if someone from the marines put two and two together…his right hand slowly reached towards the hilt of his cane sword, only to stop as the marine in question entered the room.
“Relax, it´s only me.”
He was young, seventeen years old to be precise, of average height with a sinewy build, very plain, ordinary face, and chestnut-colored hair. A Petty Officer according to his uniform.
“I thought we agreed to keep a safe distance from each other Nathaniel.”
The lawyer growled instead of any greetings. The two of them already met a few months ago, when Nathaniel was assigned to Loguetown. The young man came to greet him right away as a senior member of their little club and the two of them agreed to keep their distance for the sake both of them. Since then, they occasionally helped each other out, but Nathaniel never visited his office like this.
“I know, sorry, but...it´s about my dad, I found his killer.”
