Nina had made up her mind that she would no longer participate in their game as she didn’t move a muscle when the marines shouted something about there being a ghost somewhere.
“Nice try! I said I’m not playing…” she muttered with a sulk and even closed her eyes to emphasize her point. Her curiosity, however, was quick to get the better of her and her head slowly turned shortly after, one eye opening to sneak a little peek at this suppose ghost.
Immediately, the girl gasped and stared up at Eric, who was now hovering over the ground. Spinning to face him, she leaned back to look up at him in awe.
“Mr Wolf…” she said to him, before lowering her voice to a whisper. “You are a ghost.”
Curiously, the ginger girl crawled closer to him to try and poke his feet, only to find that her finger went right through him. In equal parts amusement and astonishment, she giggled and purposely ran her hand through his legs to conduct further tests while the rest of the world suddenly seemed to stop existing to her. Eric’s holographic form now grasped all of her attention.
After failing to grab his ankles and poke at his toes, there was only one thing left to test.
Looking up at his left shin, she opened her mouth as widely as she could, bearing her sharp teeth, then swiftly crawled around him on all fours and lunged forward to try and bite at the man’s leg to get a good chunk out of his calf.
Nina’s limited attention span was quite unfortunate for the marine who had tried to grab Eric, as she was so entirely engrossed in the Wolf Man’s ghostly figure that she didn’t even see him approach. As she chomped down on what she thought was Eric’s calf, she was quite surprised to find that she did make contact with human flesh, despite her hand going through her target earlier on.
Her teeth bit down into something solid - but it was the marine’s leg, and not Eric’s.
