Shinsei was quite pleased to hear her agree with his offer and assist him with gathering fruit. His only hope was that they would gather enough to last as long as he needed it to last. A deal was a deal, and he was ready to give up 50% of their delicious treasure.
Nodding as she continued explain that she won’t be taking any with her, his previous concern was quickly eased, and her final cheeky comment elicited a grin as he watched her.
“You sure? I don’t know about that, I think I’m pretty hilarious.” He joked, returning the same playfulness, though he could honestly agree with her quite easily. “So hilarious, in fact, that I was left here in fear of causing an entire crew to die laughing, would you believe that?” Raising his eyebrows, he nodded, “True story.” He finally concluded his charade with a chuckle and a little shake of his head.
“Okay, yes, I suppose the tree line would be a good place to start. You have a look in the trees, I’ll see what I can find in bushes down on the ground.” He muttered, looking at said treeline as he tried to simply move forward with their plan without making a big fuss about her flying or any other inhuman qualities she possessed. It was certainly odd and unusual, as Shinsei had never actually encountered a devil fruit user before, but that was not to say that he hadn’t met a number of unusual individuals… for starters, the very crew who abandoned him here and left him marooned on this tiny little island included a large monkey-man, a crew leader who mimicked a wolf - and behaved as feral as one - and a vast number of henchmen who could have had literal bricks for muscles, for all he knew, judging by how well-built they all were.
“Let’s get started…” With a sigh, he made his way to the treeline, hoping to find some sort of berries or tropical fruits growing in some shrubs, though the problem was that he wouldn’t be able to tell the poisonous ones apart from those that were safe to eat..
