Heavy rain was drumming on his window, as the killer watched Cro and his pillow from behind his tired mask. It was funny and infuriating at the same time. Funny, because of how childishly his clinging to that little stuffed thing looked. Infuriating because it seemed that the pillow became a representation of his hope and old way of thinking. Michael wanted Cro to be broken and desperate, so he would be able to influence him more easily and shape him in the form that was necessary to fulfill the goals of both of them. This little memento was making his job harder and for Cro himself the whole experience was way more painful. Still, it was not enough to stir Michael away from his intentions.
"Sit down, please."
He asked him with a gesture, that could point in the second chair into the room, just as easily as the desk of his table.
The lawyer waited on his guest to take the seat wherever he sees fit, silently listening to the rain outside. The sound of small water drops hitting the glass and pavement had a calming effect on him. It was reminding him, that right then and there, he was free. Free to choose for himself, to be true to his own nature, instead of hiding it behind this tired mask he was wearing.
"So, how do you feel?"
This seemingly innocent question got a much more sinister tone, however, as he decided to use this moment to put his mask away, filling the room with his cold aura and killing intent. This wasn't meant tk be a threat, although it could definitely be seen as one. No, for Michael being himself was just a matter of convenience. Like when you finally come home after a very long day at work and take off your shoes.
