When the shooting was replaced with the dreaded sound of empty clicking, Shinsei grinned. “So they’re not infinite.” he muttered and peeped out from his hiding spot, only to see Eric had reappeared! Bingo!
“There you are...” his gaze shifted to the remaining four kidnappers, clearly Eric’s targets, and for a moment, Shinsei needed to think about who he wanted to target more, whether it was their attackers or the wolfman with the pride of an entire pack festering the most unpleasant personality within him. Stepping out from behind the tree, he made his way out of the forestland and moved toward them.
On his way, he paused and crouched down to scoop up a handful of soil and grass in his wounded palm, instantly soaking them with the nicotine that leaked out of his wound. Bringing his other hand swiftly through the air to slam into the mudball, the nicotine ignited to create a makeshift flaming cannonball. Winding his arm back, he balanced on one leg for a moment, before breaking into a spin and released the ball of ignited grime in the direction of the kidnappers - and Eric. “Look out beloooow!” he shouted with a big grin on his face, as the clump of flaming wet dirt fell apart in the air just above the group, causing it to rain fire on them all.
The two gunmen struggled to divide their attention between the attack carried out by Eric and the new fiery assault that came from Shinsei. In a fit of panic, the two first bumped into each other, colliding as they attempted to run in opposite directions, then agreed upon one direction and their legs fumbled to carry them there.
“Wrong direction!” Shinsei intercepted them, grabbing one man by the wrist and yanking him forward to be between himself and the other gunman thus preventing him from shooting - just in case he had managed to insert any bullets with his shaking fingers. In that short span of a few seconds, the cyborg peered over in Eric’s direction, perhaps hopeful that some of the fire had struck him ... accidentally, of course ... then he shifted his focus back to his opponents. A simple ignited punch to the jaw of the man left standing was enough to send him into dreamland, while the other staggered into a faceplant in the ground, his head hitting a rock and knocking him unconscious with a loud ‘bonk!’.
Turning to Eric once more, Shinsei started to make his way toward him. “So... where were we?”
