Gin was beyond trying to 'preach' to this ex-marine. What he did with his life was his business, so long as he didn't frag Gin into it. There was a part of him that wanted to fight against this false idea of god and the devil, but he knew it would be like talking to a brick wall. What he was doing was murder, plain and simple, and he knew that one day justice would be served by the very people he used to train with. Gin downed his beer and spoke quietly to Magnus, a hint of contempt in his voice for filing a false report and taking away his business.
"I am not a 'warrior' like you. I was never meant to be in the field. I only practice martial arts in order to defend myself or my patients from harm. I have no interest in becoming a student of war. I know where I belong, and it isn't at the other end of someone's sword." Ordering another beer, Gin stood up and looked around at the damage he was unintentionally part of and rubbed the back of his neck. "This better not cost me more customers..." He mumbled, barely audible even from right next to him.
"Besides, big man, my fighting style would have been enough to harm even you if that was my intention. However, I'm not interested in fighting someone who is not my enemy. Your ideals are your own, and I cannot cast judgement on you for what you believe, no matter how far it differs from mine... But you can't work off of assumptions, or next time it really will be an innocent life you've taken. I can't deny devil fruits have done a lot of harm and given me plenty of work, but there are many people, devil fruit or not, who are just trying to make the world a better place. There was this one man I met a few years ago who had accidentally ingested one of those fruits. It brought a lot of harm until he learned how to control it. After that, he used it to help build houses for the people of his village."
Gin paused and sighed, knowing Magnus would likely want to know the name and location of this fruit user.
"You don't even have to ask. He died last month from heart failure. The point is, do your research instead of making assumptions or someone who doesn't deserve the trouble is going to die by your hands." Gin walked over to a person about to light a cigarette and dunked it into his beer, setting it down at the table in front of the stranger. "You shouldn't smoke. It's bad for your health."
Finally, Gin grabbed his case and walked back over to Magnus, a bored and slightly tired look on his face.
"But hey, what do I know. I'm just a Mink Doctor that's seen a whole lot of people die for a whole let less than they did. Beri for the road."
Gin placed a small bag of Beris on the desk in front of the barkeep and looked toward the door, contemplating how long it would take for him to get back home from here and whether he should sleep at an inn tonight.
