Gabriel #16
“So I´ll just have to find the pet of this house´s owner, and took their collar, what can be so hard about that?”
He asked himself, trying to surprise his nervosity with forced bravado, as he jumped up, grabbing the edge of the wall with his hands, before pulling himself over it. Professor´s feet silently hit the grass behind it and he moved fast towards the building, keeping himself in the shadows, despite the fact all the windows were dark and so all the people inside were probably sleeping.
Gabriel wasn´t naïve enough to believe that the main doors will be open and so he found himself on a small balcony on the first floor preparing himself for another jump when he realized something was wrong. Did she say collar? Like a dog´s collar? As this thought crossed his mind, Gabriel realized that he wasn´t there alone. Something was moving very silently behind him with the skill of a predator stalking its prey. Professor Moon has way too many experiences with his own dog to not realize, that this wasn´t Myra trying to sneak on him. No, this was a local dog. Turning swiftly around, he saw a large rottweiler just a few steps away from him, crouched for a jump.
As the animal realized he know about him, he swiftly changed his approach, switching from silent hunter to loud guardian dog. Growling and barking, he charged against Gabriel, his maw wide open. The Professor reacted on instinct. Intercepting the incoming dog with a circular movement of his arm and redirecting the direction of his force away from his body.
“Empty Moon”
Surprised, the dog followed his momentum, crashing into the house in full speed knocking himself unconscious.
“Oh no…Are you alright buddy?!”
Terrified by what he has just done to that beautiful animal, Gabriel kneeled down, next to him, checking his injuries. The good news was, that the dog seemed alright and should wake up pretty soon. The bad news was, his collar was an ordinary leather thing. Not the one described by Myra.
