Miu - 8
The tailed-cat held her open-mouth smile while casually lashing two whips of fire at the man who was quick to unzip an opening below to sneak below the rooftop. This time around, the prey remembered to remove the zipper of his escape route to ensure that he couldn’t be followed.
“Ah! He ran away again,” she noted, starting to realize a hit and run tactic at play here. Her ears then twitched at the sound of zipping occurring beneath her, and as she treaded towards the edge of the roof, she saw an opening formed by that man’s powers.
How strange. Why would he deliberately cover up his own path yet form another opening for her? Was this a trap?
Jumping down, the feline fell several meters before clinging onto the opening with her paw and crawling into the top floor of the building. Along some of the walls, she noted some more zippers, acting as shortcuts for one to maneuver from room to room.
Sniff! Sniff!
“Hm?” Miu tilted her head, realizing her prey’s scent didn’t linger beyond one of the zipper’s entrance. In other words, it was a meant to mislead her. Her little nose followed the trail of scent to trace the exact path that the man took. Paw pads strode around the floor in absolute silence as the sound of her steps were naturally dampened.
It was a dimly lit space. Her golden eyes glowed in the dark, piercing through the darkness. As she peeked around the corner, she caught sight of her target entering through an unzipped opening, and from then on, she had him locked down.
Her twin tails suddenly flared with flames jetting past their tips once more. Using the same technique as before, she was ready to attack with a pair of flaming whips at a distance but with one key exception. Her tails were pointed downwards as the fiery extension phased through the floor itself, traveling below her paws as they reached towards the man. Then, from a short distance away from the man’s flanks, a pair of blue inferno strands seemingly sprouted out from the floor, lashing towards him in a pincer formation.
Miu’s mystic blue flames were no ordinary flames. She referred to them as Ghost Fire as they had the unique quality to phase through solid surfaces like a ghost. For whatever reason, her phantasmal flames could not phase through living beings. Something about living creatures, her flames couldn’t bypass; perhaps her flames couldn’t phase through souls.
But nonetheless, the feline would reveal to the Zipper Human that obstacles like walls, ceilings, and floors were not enough to stop her attacks. As long as she could see him, she can command her serpentine flames to target him.
