The Seaman frowned, the questions the others seemed more apt than his. It seemed that at the very least they had been competent comments and questions. Meanwhile, all he had done was to make a fool out of himself. A pit began to form in his stomach as the threat of failure to impress his new leader loomed over him. His objective if Reynard was considered to have any was to become a Marine hero! He wanted to go Admiral! He wanted to prove himself! Prove to the people of his village that he was much more than a hedonistic fox! That he was much more than a poor boy from the countryside.
However, his deep thoughts were interrupted by Ensign Lovelace's newest command. She wanted a show of their power... that was something Reynard was confident in. By East Blue standards he was superhuman! In comparison to many of the other seamen, he had proven to have a great amount of raw power. Most of the Marines made way in the room clearing out the center, it was clear they were not as confident as he was. A few others did stay behind alongside him and when Rosie asked for who'd go first Reynard shot his arm up.
"I'll go first!"
He exclaimed, putting his arm down and walking forward. But as he did a fellow seaman put his arm on his shoulder squeezing it tightly with his teeth clenched. Reynard stopped in his tracks and turned his head slowly to meet eyes of his fellow seaman.
"Stupid boy! I'll go first! No one wants to see an idiot like-"
The seaman's words were cut shore as Reynard grabbed the man with Inhuman Speed. Wrappinh his fingers around the marines neck followed up with a slam on the ground that left the marine embedded into the wooden floor. The marine in question let out a wheeze of pain. Reynard stared at the man as he was in essence looming over him, his face serious and determined.
"Don't stand in my way... I said I'd go first. Don't question me."
"Ba-bastard..."
Reynard stood up, ignoring the marine whose cartoonish silhouette was now embedded into the ground. It seemed like the perverted yet somewhat innocent boy had suddenly been taken over by a different spirit. A spirit of determination. He had made a fool of himself! But he would do so no longer! He had to prove himself to this Ensign. He needed to prove his metal. The Fox-like marine took a couple of paces foward until he was standing five to six feet away from Lovelace.
"I am ready."
