She couldn't help but tense up when Dagon stood up, expecting the drink with hot sauce poured into it to be splashed directly into the least likable man's face- though she wasn't as disappointed that he was still going to drink his drink and not use the already ruined drink to burn out the eyes of his new found enemy. Instead, dropping his cigarette into Atanaric's drink to put it out instead of putting out the stub elsewhere on the black clothed man. Normally alcohol and fire don't mix, but in this case it just gave an unsatisfying 'plop' sound as the doused cig floated there mockingly.
While Zenit's old Captain hadn't said anything to particularly offend her directly, he had even gone so far as to compliment her, she still had an off feeling about him. He'd insulted Dagon, which was more than enough reason for her to get defensive. When she learned that her sniper had a crush on some "Lydia" lass, she couldn't help but be intrigued. Was that why he rebuffed her advances? Because he already had a love? It wouldn't surprise her in the least, a man like Zenit wouldn't last long staying single on these seas and while she felt happy for him she was also a little disappointed that it couldn't have been her.
"No I haven't heard of Lydia or Massive, I hadn't even heard of you until tonight." She said, spinning the cylindrical glass about in her fingers, not taking her eyes off Captain Asshole. Atanaric seemed to grin in a sort of perverse pleasure, but said nothing more, simply that they should come and find him in a week, taking his leave after being too heavy handed for the blondes liking.
"So...um, yeah...that was Captain Atanaric. He used to protect me."
Cremuex closed her eyes and raised a hand, effectively silencing him. She didn't need to hear anything else. She knew all she needed to know to side with Zenit unquestioningly. It was easy to dislike someone when they were such an abhorrent wanker.
If what Atanaric said was true, Zenit had lost not only his friends and crew mates, but also his love. Being reminded of that would have been painful enough without feeling like he needed to justify not throwing away his life when he knew he couldn't swim. If he'd have dived in after them it would have been reckless, foolhardy and a waste of a human life, something that she was glad hadn't come to pass. At least she'd found out that Atanaric couldn't swim. Even if she wouldn't personally make use of such information for poetic irony.
Nothing she could say would change the past, or make things magically better, and her saying something now when she wasn't even there would just be insensitive.
"Zenit... I'm glad you're here now. And as much as I won't stop you from doing whatever is best for you- That guy is the biggest bag of dicks I've ever seen and you are not going back to him alone. Whether you choose to not go back to him at all, or if I have to join the Hollow pirates to be with you, it doesn't matter."
She picked up her glass and raised it to her lips, knocking back the alcoholic drink as quickly as possible. It wasn't a bad drink, for an alcoholic beverage, but tonight she'd need her liquid courage. It was sweet, which suited her fine, but it still held a slight burn down her throat. Even if she couldn't hold her liquor well and got drunk very VERY easily she'd need it to stand up against her fears. Her pinky finger buffered any sound the glass might have made on the wooden table as she opened her eyes to look back at the bald man, ignoring the trio that had started cha-cha-ing brilliantly behind him.
"Zenit, I don't know if you want to check on Dagon, but whenever you're ready please meet me in the Captains Quarters. I found out something about you, it's only fair you find out something about me." She stood and walked around the table to where Zenit was still sitting, quiet, timid and visibly shaken. She gave him a gentle hug, wary of his injuries but still needing to show that she cared and that she was there for him, even if she was about to literally walk out the door.
What's done is done, and you can't bring back the dead, you have to honor them by living. It's not you fault, don't blame yourself. I'm glad you're still alive and safe - all these cliches were reasonable things that she should have said. SHOULD have said. Instead what she found herself saying was probably less influenced by the drink she knocked back moments earlier than she would have liked to admit, which she would still blame should anyone ask her or mention it later.
"If you do end up warming my bed, or making things wet, I'm sure I'll love you all the more." She left without saying anything further, directly to her room on the ship in a brisker walk than was necessary and waited there for the young man. Of course this was neither the time or the mood for anything frisky, but Atanaric's mention of his camera abilities was something she'd thought about for a while.
She waited on her king sized bed, wrapping her fingers around one another awkwardly as she tried to talk herself through what was about to come. Her face was already reddened by the plonk from only minutes ago and she was starting to feel warm all over, possibly thanks to the drink, possibly from other things too. She lifted her jacket up and over her head, carelessly throwing it to one of the corners of the room, landing on a plush toy of a dog.
When she heard Zenit at the door she summoned him in with a curl of her finger and petted a spot on the warm pink mink material that was her upper blanket.
"Zenit-" She said in the best authoritative voice she could muster, "Yoooou- Should take off your shades." She said pointing to his round glasses in a salacious manner. as she leaned towards him.
"You see my dear dear darling Zenit, there's a little secret that you should know. A few secrets, come to think of it. The first is juuuuuust for yooou though-" She booped her captive audience's nose playfully as she winked at him, standing up off the bed and pulling on the strings of her corset. She let the strings come undone as she tugged her under-bust corset off, flicking it to the newly forming pile of clothes that covered the blank staring eyes of her plush companions. Her finger nimbly unbuttoned her silky bubble-gum pink blouse and let it fall to the floor as she finally spread the feathery white wings that extended from her shoulder blades. She still had her bra on when she sat down next to her shutterbug.
"My second secret~ Is that I love you Zenit Basqait." She cooed and started to giggle as she watched the expression on Zenit's face. Somehow, in her tipsy state, few things could be funnier than the look he gave when being confessed to.
